An Edwardian mahogany tube chiming longcase clock, the carved caddy pediment above arched door set with silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals, strike/silent switch, chime/silent, and Westminster, Whittington, and St Michael chime dial, subsidiary seconds hand, and plaque inscribed "Russells Ltd, 18 Church Street, Liverpool" above glazed door showing three brass weights and the tubes flanked by fluted pilasters to a stepping bracket base, height approx 245cm. CONDITION REPORT: A few light scuffs to the case which needs polishing. Hands misshaped to dial. Plinth base is slightly different in colour.
GILLOWS; a rare mahogany longcase clock, the hood with broken swan neck pediment above arched dial set with rolling moon, silvered chapter ring, with foliate engraved swags, and central sweeping seconds hand, housing an eight day movement inscribed "William Holland, Chester", above long arched door, quarter fluted pilasters to a plinth base and bracket feet, the case stamped "Gillows", height 260cm. William Holland is registered as being active in Chester c.1791-1797.
A George III mahogany kneehole desk, the moulded rectangular top above frieze drawer with divided interior and supported on twin loafers with "secret" central drawer above cupboard door flanked by two banks of three short drawers, to ogee bracket feet, width 101cm. CONDITION REPORT: Some sections of feet missing. Heavy wear/scratches to top. Some cock beading missing. Badly dented where handles hit drawer fronts. Handles appear to be original. Hinge to door broken and loose with new clasp to side. Heavy wear throughout.
A Victorian figured walnut pop-up piano Davenport, the rising superstructure with fret carved panel and three drawers and stationery compartment, above a hinged lid enclosing a slide with gilt tooled leather set writing surface, pen tray and inkwell compartments, with side cupboard door revealing four drawers to a plinth base, width 59cm. CONDITION REPORT: Overall in original untouched condition. Some slight lifting and splitting to veneers to front of hinged lid (see photo). Staining to leather but otherwise OK.
