A late Victorian Franglais gilt metal mounted mahogany and marquetry serpentine low vitrine, moulded top inlaid in Ivory and coloured woods with a musical trophy, cornucopia, fluted urns and scrolling foliage, above a shaped glazed door flanked by conforming panels, serpentine legs, 73cm high, 72cm wide, c.1890
A George III oak longcase clock, 33cm white dial, dummy winding holes, Roman chapter, signed Jas Ashton/Tideswell, subsidiary seconds dial, 30 hour movement striking on a bell, the hood with curly pediment, fluted brass capped columns, shaped door with Baroque brass escutcheon, flanked by fluted quarter columns, plinth base, 207cm high James Ashton was a third generation member of the extensive clockmaking dynasty which flourished on both sides of the Derbyshire/Cheshire border, being grandson of Samuel Ashton of Tideswell and son of Samuel's younger son, Aaron, also of Tideswell. The elder branch of the family flourished at Ashbourne and Macclesfield, James himself was born c. 1769, was apprenticed to his father 1783-1790 and married Sarah Shepley (a relative of John Shepley of Derby, clock maker) at Glossop in September 1791, working into the second decade of the 19th century.

A Regency oak and mahognany inlaid longcase clock, curly pediment to hood, supported on turned columns, painted 13in (33cm) break-arch dial exotic bird in arch, floral spandrels, Arabic chapter subbsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, signed T. Stripling/Lichfield, eight-day movement striking on a bell, shaped rectangular door to trunk flanked by attached quarter columns, turned feet 91in (230cm) high, c. 1810 Thomas Stripling came to Luichfield from Coventry in 1761 to take over the business of James Hunt who had died that year. From 1775 he was in partnership with his nephew Thomas Gilbert and from that time some of the clocks are signed Stripling & Gilbert.to 1817, when it became T Stripling again, although the original Thomas was by then dead..
An Edwardian mahogany musical longcase clock, of George III design, 31.5cm brass dial with silvered chapter ring inscribed with Roman and subsidiary Arabic numerals, Strike & Chime/Silent selector to arch, Whittington/Westminster Chimes selector to side, cast dolphin, mask and leafy scroll spandrels, the centre engraved with scrolling foliage, triple winding holes, the movement chiming on eight graduated tubular gongs, the hood with swan neck pediment, brass capped reeded Corinthian column, shaped arched rectangular door to waist, flanked by reeded quarter-columns, canted base, ogee bracket feet, 228cm high, c.1910
An early 19th Century mahogany Console Table, with rectangular top supported by two circular pillars, on an inverted platform base, approx. 92cms (36") wide, 97cms (38") high; and a small 19th Century mahogany Chiffonier of narrow proportions, the shelf back supported by three turned pillars either side, over a single panel door, on turned legs. A large and unusual Edwardian inlaid mahogany breakfront Bookcase, the broken pediment over a breakfront with two astragal glazed doors on a base with two short one long and two panel doors, flanked either side by a large single astragal glazed door over two small panel doors, 244cms x 275cms (8' x 9' long). A very good early 18th Century, possibly Welsh, panelled oak Bureau, the nicely figured sloping top with book rest, enclosing a fitted interior with large panel door, pigeon holes and drawers, above a frieze with large centre drawer flanked by two smaller drawers over three further large drawers each with moulded fronts, brass drop handles and escutcheons, each side with four panels, and a nine panelled back, on bracket feet, 112cms (44") high, 90cms (35 1/2") wide. A large pair of 19th Century Boulle Side Cabinets, the shaped rectangular tops with heavy ormolu mounts and decorated frieze over a single door with large oval panel, flanked by two circular pillars with gilt metal Corinthian capitals, on shaped block base, 104cms (41")wide, 114cms (45") high. (2)

Hendris, Wigton, decorated with dolphins, and cupids holding a crown, with glazed door flanked by two circular black pillars with carved gilt capitals, over a long door with oval aperture (window) and with yew wood crossbanding, chequered and other inlays, and large panels of birds-eye walnut, and on a similar box base with bracket feet, 246cms (8'1") high approx. A fine and imposing large 19th Century red boulle and silver inlaid three door Side Cabinet, the rectangular top with brass mounted rim, over decorated ormolu frieze four reeded brass inlaid pillars with brass capitals, impressive centre door profusely decorated with ormolu scrolls, heads, etc., flanked by two glazed doors, the base with four lion mask and turned ormolu mounted feet, 231cms (7'7")wide, 135cms (53").
