A late 17th century French bracket clock by André Charles Boulle, the boulle work ebonised case of architectural form, the pendant with ormolu mounts, the glazed door flanked by a pair of columns and enclosing the brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and twin winding holes 'held' by an ormolu figural relief modelled as Atlas, over a shaped apron, on bun feet the back plate of the brass movement with a visible wheel inscribed 'Torrez Ast. Malo', 48x33 cm CONDITION REPORT: Requires attention. Finials not screwing in correctly. Some losses to boulle work, ebony and mounts. Some veneers missing, One foot replacement. Another foot attached to a piece of timber which is loose on the base. One hand damaged. We believe the bronze figure has been altered and his foot removed.

The Bubb family dolls’ house circa 1878, (not that Bubb) home built deep wooden house which unusually opens in two halves in the middle of the building, the façade with central front door, five windows, remains of working door bell, opening to reveal two rooms in each half of the house, old papers and fitted carpets, probably 1930s with a small quantity of furniture and tinplate fireplaces -24½in. (62cm.) high (old overpainting to outside) - a paper note inside reads this house was built by Mr Bubb Senior for his granddaughter in about 1878

A needlework pictorial and verse sampler, worked by Mary Jubb 1815, with verse "In All Misfortunes this Advantage Lies ...", large country house, the door worked "Jubb", flanked by pine trees with birds all above a large flowering vase flanked by a dog with a cow, butterflies and birds within a Vitruvian scroll border. 41.5 cm x 31.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is some slight bleeding of colours which will be visible in the images. There appears to be a reworked patch to the left of the left hand side tree above the lower bird and also to the right of the same tree almost directly opposite at the corner of the house and also slightly further down near the second branch. A further repair patch appears to the base of the right hand side tree at the base between it and the left hand side shrub. There are further repair patches beneath the house flanking the central floral vase and to the base of the floral vase left hand side and to the left hand side leaves. There is also a repaired patch to the right hand side of the text at the top between the bird and the scrolling border. The frame appears to be within the last 30 years, it is pine and it has small knocks but is solidly constructed.

Illustration Interest Original Watercolour By Patience Arnold 1901-1992 'Carol Singers' Patience Arnold was born in Royston Yorkshire but spent her childhood in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. Arnold studied at the Harris School of Art, Preston and became a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Art. In 1967 Patience set up a studio in the Lake District and continued to produce unique and whimsical illustrations for books, greetings cards and private commissions which brought her national recognition. Our client's mother was a long term friend of Arnold's and many of the works presented here were commissioned privately and have remained in our clients private collection. The works have never been offered for sale commercially until now. Presented here is an original watercolour depicting a group of children carol singing at the open door of a kindly old lady. To the background is a snowy street scene with people promenading. Signed to bottom right in grey watercolour 'Patience Arnold 1982'. Framed and mounted under glass 12 x 17 inches. Excellent condition
Equestrian Interest 19th Century Oil On Canvas Housed in original, ornate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a white horse with bridle and saddle resting at a cottage door. Above hangs a caged magpie, below a small grey terrier looks toward the horse whilst a spaniel sleeps on the ground. Signature barely visible to bottom left 'R Ansdell' 14 x 18 inches.
A Georgian black lacquered bracket clock, the backplate signed "George Priors, London", two-train fusee striking on a gong, the dial with Roman numerals. Case height excluding carrying handle 43 cm, width 29 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains. It strikes when advanced. With the pendulum removed the going train is ticking away. The case is in generally good condition. All brasswork would appear to be original. It is all a little tarnished but there are no significant problems. The case itself has some minor stress fractures. There are however no significant losses. There is a crack to the veneers just above the left hand front foot. There are minor stress fractures to both sides. The numerals are a little rubbed and there are minor scratches to the dial but no significant issues. The wooden fretwork behind the door which is not on display has some losses. We have the pendulum and door key but no winding key.
A late 19th century French red tortoiseshell bracket clock, with two-train striking movement by Marti et Cie. Height 37 cm, width 17 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds on both trains. It strikes as it should when manually advanced. All metalwork is tarnished but all present and correct. The tortoiseshell is in generally very good order with only minor discolouration and blemishes. The glass is dirty but has no cracks. There are minor chips to the numerals 4 and 8 around the winding apertures but no significant losses. The rear door fits as it should. We have a key and pendulum.
A French gilt metal and Cararra marble mantle clock, circa 1900, cast as a Classical styled female draping a garland of flowers over a cherub over a white enamelled dial with eight day movement chiming on a bell and signed for "Samuel Marti, Paris 1900", the base inset with gilt metal panels of mischievous putti and all upon raised short legs. Height 32 cm, width 27 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is in generally good order. The movement winds on both trains and seems to be ticking away as it should. The strike mechanism operates when manually advanced. The dial is in generally very good order. There is one small surface fracture to the enamel to the left of the numeral 10. This is not visible with the door closed. We have the pendulum but no key. The metalwork is all in generally good order. There is some rubbing to the original gilding particularly around the drapes and the extremities of the figures. All feet are present. There are some minor edge nibbles to the marble base but no significant losses.
A 17th century oak cupboard, with carved front and panelled doors and sides (alterations). Width 122 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top boards to the cupboard are original. The right hand board has an old hole in the top and evidence of long gone woodworm. Both side panels are in good condition with only minor surface scuffs, paint marks and scratches. The rear boards appear to be original and are in good order. The carved front has numerous small scuffs and scratches. The left hand door has old stress fractures to the centre panel. The right hand door has a similar stress fracture. The left hand door hinges correctly but there has been a repair around the bottom pivot pin. The right hand door is missing the bottom pivot pin and there is a loss to the bottom right hand corner of the door as a consequence. The base boards are original. The two cupboard retaining pegs are old but presumably later.
An early Victorian mahogany bookcase, the top half with moulded cornice above a pair of glazed doors, the base fitted with one drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing shelves. Width 84.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The dust board to the top of the cabinet above the cornice is loose. The cornice itself and crossbanded frieze are in good order. The left hand door closes as it should and the brass retaining mechanisms operate. There is a small loss just above the lock escutcheon on the outside edge. The right hand door is not warped. The lock is present but detached, we have the key. We cannot currently operate the lock. The sides of the top are in good order. The left hand side of the base is in good condition. Both doors close as they should and are not warped. There are no cracks to the doors. The right hand side of the base has numerous old marks and scuffs. The plinth base itself is in generally good order with only minor veneer nibbles. The interior tray is present as is the shelf.
A George III mahogany and walnut longcase clock, probably Whitehaven, bearing old label for Michael King Looking Glass Maker, Carver & Gilder to The Door, with swans neck pediment and Verre Eglomise panels above the arched door enclosing the enamelled dial with moon phase and eight day striking movement, with long trunk door and all raised on bracket feet. Height including finial 229 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Whilst the clock is ticking away and striking as it should neither the moon face or the date hand are currently connected and there are pieces missing here. The dial is badly rubbed and much of the gilding not present. The Arabic numerals around the Roman numerals are not visible neither are the date markers. The case itself is in generally good structural condition. There is considerable wear to the verre eglomise. The hood should have rear flat uprights at the rear of the sides of the case, these are missing. The trunk door is not warped. The sides of the case are in generally good order as is the blind fretwork and the base. There are no significant issues with the case other than the missing sections at the rear of the hood and very minor losses of the edge cornice.
A 19th century Continental oak ecclesiastical door, possibly confessional, with linen fold panels and Gothic carving. Width 77 cm, height 224 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is a door frame with the linen fold four panelled section at the base hinging and opening. Above this are two further pierced panels both of which hinge. The height of the exterior frame is 224 cm the width 77 cm. The height of the linen fold door section is 89 cm and the width 58.5 cm. The height of each smaller door including the pediment is 47 cm. Each door has a width of 29 cm.
An 18th century walnut veneered bureau, with slope front to fitted interior, with four frieze drawers with brass drop handles and lock escutcheons, with moulding below and raised on bracket feet. Width 91 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top has small patches of what I would believe to be watermarks and a small ring stain and partial ring stains. The fall front has four patches surrounding the escutcheon. There is a further patch to the extreme right edge of the fall front. There is a 3 cm patch of veneer replaced to the right hand side of the fall front and a 4 cm detach of veneer missing from the top right hand corner side. There is a 4.5 cm repaired patch directly above the escutcheon on the carcass and a 1 cm square patch to the left hand side top right of the sloping carcass. There are numerous splits and veneer losses to the right hand side. The left hand side has veneers lifting and blistering and has age cracks. There is a 7 cm x 16 cm patch of veneer missing from the rear leg and moulding. There is a small patch of veneer missing from the outside left front bracket foot there is a 6 cm x 1 cm patch of veneer missing from the outside rear bracket foot. The outside right bracket foot has veneer lifting. Both front bracket feet have been repaired. Each drawer has handle hole patches. The stringing on the top drawer looks to have been replaced. The bottom drawer looks to have some water damage. The bottom drawer baseboards are all warped and water damaged. The interior fall front has a recent tooled leather writing surface inset into it. Both hinges are later and are framed by old repairs. The interior centre cupboard door has had a repair to its right hand hinge and there are signs of old hinge marks to its right hand side. Overall in tired condition but salvageable.
