Circa 1000-900 AD. A very rare and unusual object to find on the art market, a full Viking door padlock with two decorative lions used as a protective force. This padlock is of high quality and possibly used to protect a building of high importance, possibly a storage area for someone of high social status or a building of significance within the community. Very fine condition. Extremely rare and uncommon object to find available on the art market. Size: L:80mm / W:330mm ; 940g. Provenance: From a private collection; previously was acquired from G. M. in London in 2017.
A late 19th century wall clock, the painted white dial with Arabic numerals and a red painted chapter ring for the other 12 hours, in a circular wooden case with brass mount, fusee movement, height 38cm Condition Report: Unfortunately there is no pendulum or key. Large repair present in line with the 3 and 9 o'clock hour markers. All pegs present. Door to base has previously been damaged and partially repaired, with it lacking a locking mechanism. Dial appears to be in good condition considering age. Possible repair to the rear panel. No obvious signs of woodworm.
A late 20thC Oriental hardwood Cutlery Canteen Cabinet, with baize lined fitted hinged top section above four drawers, all with fitted, baize-lined interiors, and a two panelled door cupboard below, raised on squared supports, all decorated with dragon and pearl motifs, w56cm x h79cm x d36cm.
A Victorian gilt-metal mounted ebonised marquetry inlaid credenza, late 19th century, of canted D-shape, inlaid with satinwood beaded scrollwork to gallery above two curved glazed corner cupboards enclosing two blue velvet clad shelves, centred by a recessed cupboard door inlaid with a swaged medallion, flanked by two gilt-metal mounted Corinthian columns, on tapering feet, 110cm x 150.5cm x 44cm
A large Victorian mahogany wardrobe-linen press, of architectural breakfront form, with pediment above four reeded column supports, the twin double doors mounted with a mirror, revealing four shelves and four drawers with brass handles, flanked by wardrobes either side, on moulded plinth base, 227cm x 236cm x 68cm Condition Report: This comes apart in multiple pieces: the top cornice and bottom plinth are separate, the central door can be detached, the central part comes apart in three sections. Overall this is of good decorative appearance. The colour of the mahogany is rich and deep. There is some slight deteriotation to the edge of the mirror in centre. Some minor surface scratching and wear overall commensurate with age and use. Chip to edge of one turned wooden handle, The mirrored door is currently very stiff and hard to open as the metal hinge is opening directly on to the top cornice. It may be that there is another element which fitted between the cornice and top of the door which is now lacking, or it may be possible to refit the mirrored door. There is some surface scratching where the metal hinge runs across the base of cornice, some adaptions have been made to the fiitted interior to accommodate the hinge. Internally two drawer bases have splits although they still function. The gilt metal handles could possibly be later replacements. Some old staining to the fabric lining of each wardrobe. There is a later pine baton which has been attached to the top right of the cornice, the purpose of this is unknown although it could be removed. Some minor scratching to surface (particularly where doors open and edges of door) and relatively minor losses to veneers.

Marks and wear throughout commensurate with age and previous use.
