A very large late 18th century Dutch marquetry inlaid bureau bookcase, the shaped cornice above two cupboard doors enclosing shelves, the base with fall front enclosing a slide, various drawers and central cupboard, above bombé base set with three further long drawers, with shaped apron and substantial paw feet, height 257cm, width 140cm, depth approx. 56cm. Provenance: The contents of a Cheshire Country House. Additional InformationAs you would expect with a piece of this age, there are old repairs in parts to veneers and mouldings. There is some slight discolouration to the front from sun fading and there are several natural splits throughout. However overall it is a good example and the splits in the door etc. are part and parcel with 18th century Dutch furniture.

A 19th century mahogany apothecary cabinet, the twin panelled doors enclosing an arrangement of compartments and glass bottles, with three small drawers above two larger drawers, on bracket feet, height 37.5cm, width 29cm, depth 20.5cm.Additional InformationMissing the front left bracket from one foot. The piece has ivory escutcheons so cannot be posted outside of the UK. Looks to be missing some of the larger bottles. Some of the bottles are possibly associated. Large split/crack to the back. Sliding door on the back is loose and has a replacement pin. The right front door does not close 100% true.
