A late 18th/early 19th century oak and mahogany longcase clock, with swan neck pediment above square painted floral dial set with Arabic numerals, date aperture, inner dial, two key wind holes, subsidiary minute dial, and minute outer track, Jaz Lomax, Blackburn, shaped door flanked by quarter columns, on square bracket feet, eight-day chiming movement, height 217cm.
Edwardian simulated rosewood bedside pot cupboard with arch cresting, single door with moulded panel on platform base. 40cm wide approx. together with a single drop leaf gate action table with solid rosewood top, a 17th century oak drop leaf gateleg table and a Regency style mahogany music Canterbury and a early 19th century oak bow fronted hanging blind corner cupboard. A George III mahogany and crossbanded bureau, stamped S.William & Sons Guildford, of small proportion, the fall flap opening to reveal a central door flanked by fluted semi secret column slides, four drawers and recesses, above four long graduated drawers, raised on reduced bracket feet, 94cm high, 70.5cm wide, 45cm deep.
A late Victorian aesthetic movement light ash wardrobe compactum and dressing table by Shapland & Petter, the wardrobe having centre moulded cornice and gallery sides, the central fitted mirror door having press drawers over three solid and flanked by rosette and moulded panel doors with period brass handles, the dressing tables having a dentil moulded mirror with bevel plate, side drawers with wrythen taper supports, line scored decoration and a combination of drawers and platform base, stamped S&P of Barnstaple to the locks, the wardrobe 220cm high, 186cm wide, 53cm deep, the dressing table 137cm wide. Henry Shapland had been apprenticed to a cabinet maker in Barnstaple, before travelling to America in 1851 to learn about a wave moulding machine. When back in England he was joined by Henry Petter. By 1888 the Raleigh Cabinet Works were employing hundreds of workers from Raleigh and the surrounding areas when on 5 March 1888 a fire destroyed the factory. The new factory was restarted at a new site on the River Taw, a former shipbuilding yard known as Bridge Wharf. Working together as Shapland and Petter they were to become one of the town's largest employers. They employed craftsmen but also used the most up-to-date machinery available for their products. Henry Shapland was a time-served cabinet maker and Henry Petter was an amazing salesman who found the market for their products.

A sedan chair, possibly built by Duvernoy, son of Avignon, circa 1762-5, with full gilded sculptures to the original exterior woodwork, colour paintings of the seasons to the panels, lined in original deep blue velvet with a single remaining silk roller blind, the interior has blue comb cartisane fringes with taffeta, glass pull strings together with brass window position stops, seat cushion and valance, the floor has the original leather covering, the front door glass has been replaced but the side glasses are original, 84cm wide x 99cm deep, 173cm high, together with two long black cloaks and two tricorn hatsThe leather roof later replaced. the nailed leather rim of the top worn and with small losses. carved frame gillding dull and rubbed in parts. Hinged and carrying mounts in iron tarnished and a little rusty. the painted leather panels with chipping to paint around the edges where nailed in place.painted landscape to lower cartouches dry and faded and scuffed. Signs of old woodworn to base. right outside panel partially detached to lower section. left leather panel loose and detaching to back. Glass panels and front frame replaced. velvet interior worn. Locking plate missing to door. All over wear and scuffs commensurate with age and use.
