A Victorian brass and mahogany ship's barometer, the plain squared case with maker's plaque to the top and enclosed ivory scale incorporating a thermometer, H.38.5in.CONDITION: Overall of even reddish brown mahogany tone, top has a suspension ring in additional to the adjustable gimbal mount, case is in fair state of polish, small section of damage near the top hinge to the scale door, ivory scale a little dirty and discoloured as are other ivory mounts, brass works looks original, overall good condition.

A late 19th century French lacquered brass hour repeating carriage clock, in gorge case, with circular enamelled Roman dial and movement striking on a gong, width 3.5in. depth 3.25in. height 5.5in.CONDITION: Overall in somewhat neglected condition, case is very dirty and rubbed down to the base metal, dial good and clean, hands look original, engine turned surround again oxidised, all glass is good, back door a little loose on its hinges, movement stamped slow / fast, hands and probably 1425 in the lower left corner, escapement probably original, going but not tested for timekeeping, hour repeat slightly out of sync with the hands.

A late 19th century French ormolu cased quarter repeating carriage alarm clock, with signed enamelled Roman dial and movement striking on a bell, width 3.75in. depth 3.25in. height 5.75in.CONDITION: Case with a matted gilt finish worn down to the base metal in many places, dial with some light dirt spotting but otherwise good, hands look original, dial with the word Paris beneath 6 o'clock, back door glass with chipping near the lower right corner, escapement possibly original, movement runs but not tested for timekeeping, repeat function partially striking but out of sync, backplate engraved slow/fast alarm at the top, hands above alarm hand and James Walter Marshall, Paris lower down, numbered 909.

A late 19th century French ormolu and Sevres style porcelain mantel clock, of architectural form, surmounted with cherubs holding a portrait of a French king, the dial and sides decorated with cherubs and trophies, eight day movement stamped A.D. 1091/515, width 8.5in. depth 6in. height 14.25in.CONDITION: Overall in good untouched condition, ormolu is either matted mid gold tone or highly polished shiny gilt finish, porcelain all in good order, gilding on dial good, an indistinct signature to the base just above 6 o'clock, feet a little loose but all present, lacks back door, movement complete but lacks key and pendulum so not tested for timekeeping.

W. Thornhill & Co. A late Victorian gilt brass four glass calendar mantel clock, with gilt Roman dial and additional dials for date, day and month, plinth with inscription B J Buxton from JHB & GMB 1886, eight day movement with mercury pendulum striking on a gong stamped A1, the gong P.S., width 13in. depth 8.5in. height 16in.CONDITION: Case retains original lacquered finished, oxidised and dirty on the top and less so but still on other raised surfaces, better on the sides but still in need of a repolish and re-lacquer, dial equally a little oxidised but looks original as do all of the hands, inscription to the front of the plinth rubbed over the years and now a little hard to read, movement looks to be original but the mechanism connecting the movement to the calendar mechanics is now missing, one or two small loose screws etc within the case, comes with an associated key, back of the case scratched around the door mechanism with old breaks to the lower corners of the back glass, side glasses both good, movement not tested for timekeeping.

Barraud & Lund, Cornhill, London. A Victorian gothic cased oak eight day bracket clock, with silvered dial numbered 1872 and unsigned twin fusee movement striking upon two blued steel gongs, width 16in. depth 10in. height 24.75in.CONDITION: Case has been repolished at some point and now has a rather light shiny tone, a section of moulding missing beneath the spire and both columns missing from the left and right sides, dial looks to be in good untouched condition but would benefit from a clean, movement complete with pendulum, further small loss of moulding to the front left corner of the case, fret work side panels in fair order, comes with a case key, metal grille to the back door a little pushed in, lower left corner of the back door broken away and missing, unsigned movement with heavy adjustable pendulum, lacking its locking bar, complete but not tested for timekeeping. A large Regency brass inset mahogany repeating chiming bracket clock, with swept arched case, flanked by Egyptianesque pilasters, painted Roman dial and unsigned twin fusee movement, width 19in. depth 9.5in. height 37.25in.CONDITION: Top finial with a dull finish but looks original, main body of case a little dried out, of even rich mahogany tone but would benefit from a repolish, fine horizontal splits running through either side of the case about level with the four brass pineapple finials, finials are a little wobbly, a section of ebonised moulding missing from the arch above the door to the right side, pilasters a little oxidised, glazed side panels good, two short cracks in the veneers to the lower right side, no key to the front door, dial probably repainted but of some age and now a little dirty with minor scratching particularly around the winding holes, hands look very simple and may well be later, ball feet oxidised, back door lacking key and with a somewhat duller finish on the left side, lock coming loose and in the locked position, main section of missing ebonised moulding inside the case, along with two other small pieces of moulding, movement looks untouched, chiming on eight bells and striking on a separate bell, comes with adjustable pendulum but not in any way signed, looks complete but not tested for timekeeping.

Bailey Chippenham Fecit. A George III walnut cased bracket clock, in plain case with engraved brass dial and twin fusee movement, width 11in. depth 7.75in. height 17in.CONDITION: Overall rather poor condition, case a very dark reddish brown tone with a poor state of polish and numerous small dents, splits and minor losses, bronze top handle has lost its gilding, front door is locked shut with no key present, dial signed at the top and engraved with flowers to the corners and a landscape to the centre, hands look to be later, back door with replacement moulding down the left side and damage to the pierced angles, lock open but no key, movement looks to have been adapted over the years, a conversion to anchor escapement and probably other additional work, signature to the back of the movement looks like a later addition, comes with probably the original pendulum which has a broken steel spring, no winding key present.

Dwerrihouse Carter & Son, Berkeley Square. A George III mahogany cased hour repeating bracket clock, with circular enamelled dial and signed twin fusee movement, width 11.25in. depth 8in. height 14.5in.CONDITION: Case of a good rich mahogany tone, somewhat dull on the top with scattered minor splits, scuffs and dents commensurate with age, top handle slightly bent out of shape, curved wooden section that it is set into a little out of shape from the brass rim that sits beneath it, verdigris and oxidisation spotting on all of the brass work, front door has lock with working key that also works the back door, small section of damage to the ivory escutcheon, fine hairline cracking running left and right of the bezel, door opens to reveal slow / fast adjustment above 12 o'clock, enamelled dial looks good, one or two tiny hairline cracks near 1 o'clock and central, blued steel hands may well be later, fine vertical cracks above each of the side panels, back door has lost its escutcheon and has damage to the left side and near top right corner, movement looks to be in good clean condition but not tested for timekeeping, comes with adjustable pendulum that has lost its retention clip and what looks to be an associated bell, comes with case key and two winding keys.

James Warren Jnr of Canterbury. A George III mahogany bracket clock, with arched case and painted Roman dial, twin fusee movement with anchor escapement striking on a bell, W. 12.5in. D. 7in. H.16in.CONDITION: Overall in good restored condition, case of an even tone, one or two fine old cracks showing in the veneers, dial has been repainted and hands restored, working key for the front door, seperate working key for the back door, movement with engraved backplate looks complete and going but not tested for timekeeping, comes with an old possibly original winding key.

A Victorian inlaid mahogany and satinwood banded eight day quarter chiming longcase clock, the 12 inch arched brass dial with painted moonphase and silvered Roman chapter ring with silent / chime, four bells / eight bells selectors, subsidiary seconds and maker's plaque inscribed 'George Graham Clock Maker', the case with cockerel and eagle finials, glazed barred trunk door and parquetry inlaid side panels, late 19th century eight day movement chiming on four/eight bells and striking on a gong, W.1ft 8.1in. D.1ft H.8ft 4in.CONDITION: This clocks looks to have seen adaptations over the years, the likelihood being that it is a marriage of an old adapted case to an earlier dial and movement dating to c.1890-1900, finials are oxidised particularly the eagles, top of the hood looks to be a less welcome match than the rest of the case and is thought to be a later addition, dial with oxidisation particularly to the silvering, moonphase looks good, movement complete though not tested for timekeeping, one of the brass grille panels to the right side is loose, case with vertical splitting running through the base panel but otherwise good and of good rich colour, comes with brass wood stemmed pendulum and three brass cased weights.
