**Please note this vehicle is not exempt from the ULEZ charge as incorrectly stated in the catalogue**Just like any other Taxi - air conditioning, floor lighting, walnut dashboard, intercom, chrome handles, Alpine sound system and 1,581 miles from new - well, perhaps not. Offered here is a 19 year old, purpose-built London Taxicab that has covered a mere 1,581 miles from new. The vehicle was owned from new by Sultan Qaboos of Oman as part of his vast vehicle collection in London and was first registered in 2003. It's a London Taxi International TXII Gold model which was a top of the range model at the time and has the advantage of full air-conditioning front and rear, walnut dashboard, chrome grille and door handles and intercom system. At further expense a centre console was fitted in the rear to house a fully remote, high-quality Alpine sound system, and an occasional fold-down passenger seat in the front. The rear compartment also boasts floor lighting and a fold-down wheelchair access ramp. This taxicab looks, drives and smells as you would expect for what is, essentially, a new car. Always kept in heated garages, it has had occasional use only, yet has always been well maintained regardless of how infrequently used. The taxi comes with good service history and whilst it has never been used as a London taxicab, interestingly it is exempt from the city's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge.SpecificationMake: LONDON TAXISModel: INTERNATIONALYear: 2003Chassis Number: SCRT4B6ME3C153410Registration Number: LF03 PPYTransmission: AutomaticDrive Side: Right-hand DriveClick here for more details and images

Sparkling little TD2 with only just over 200 miles since a comprehensive and finely detailed long-term restoration. The MG T-series, for most enthusiasts, epitomises the spirit of the Abingdon marque, delivering a blend of lively performance, vintage styling and above all, the sort of wind-in-the-hair driving experience one expects from a traditional British sports car. The original T-series Midget was launched before the war, evolving into the short-lived TB and TC models, before the TD was announced in November 1949, bringing with it the first major attempt at restyling since the end of WWII. With a track widened by some five inches to improve interior space, along with new independent coil spring front suspension and rack and pinion steering (sourced from the Y-type), the TD was sold with steel disc wheels in place of the previously used wire-spoked items and bumpers (with over-riders) were standard equipment as well. The interior was revised to make it more habitable but retained the flavour of the original T-series, with folding windscreen, full instrumentation, and a minimum of superfluous decoration. Powering the TD was essentially the same XPAG 1250cc engine in use since 1939, but an increased compression ratio from 1950 saw power up from 55bhp to 60bhp and, in July 1951, the XPAG received a new block, a new sump, a new bell-housing and a new flywheel in order to accommodate a larger clutch. The engine number prefix was changed to TD2, and MG TDs fitted with this engine have subsequently become known as TD2 models. With the sports car movement in the United States in full swing, it wasn't surprising that the vast majority of TD production crossed the Atlantic. Now finished in Old English White with the correct green grille slats and a superb Apple Green interior, this original, left-hand drive TD2 has undergone a chassis-up restoration and conversion to right-hand drive. Delivered new to California in 1952 before returning to the UK in 1986, the rebuild was commenced by a retired engineer in 1996 before finally reaching fruition some 25 years later in 2019. As is evident from our images, no stone was left unturned during this comprehensive and long term project from the chassis and body through all mechanical components to the trim and final detailing, all areas received fastidious attention. The sprung steering wheel looks original as do the instruments and switches, however, the dashboard and the door cards wear fresh Rexine and the bespoke monogrammed carpets finish off the lovely cockpit. As you might expect the engine bay is tidy and very impressive. The odometer currently reads 209 miles which we guess is post-restoration, so a further period of running-in is advised to bring the best out of this delightful MG. Some 70 years have passed since TD14680 rolled off the production line, however, it's once again resplendent in its traditional colour scheme and original specification including the delightful steel wheels as it would have been all those years ago. An instantly recognisable T-Series MG, extensively rebuilt and awaiting its next custodian.SpecificationMake: MGModel: MIDGETYear: 1952Chassis Number: TD14680Registration Number: XVV 741Transmission: ManualEngine Number: 10424Drive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDInterior Colour: Green HideClick here for more details and images

Lot 755

A very smart example of the final series of Jaguar's remarkable E-Type Roadster.A decade after the original Jaguar E-Type arrived, the design progressively matured through 1971 with the introduction of the Series 3. Designed to showcase the new smooth and torquey 5.3-litre engine originally developed for Le Mans, the Series 3 cars were available as a 'Roadster' (convertible) or a '2+2' Coupē. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by its large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, a larger bonnet bulge, updated bumpers, four exhaust tips, and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It also features uprated brakes, power steering as standard and a large horizontal scoop added to the underside of the bonnet to assist with cooling. The interior was entirely new in the V12, with more comfortable seating, stylish new door panels and a smaller, dished and leather-rimmed steering wheel. Being slightly larger and altogether much softer in nature, the E-Type in Series 3 form had lost the wildness of its youth but gained the long-legged touring profile, to which it was arguably better suited. This very smart Series 3 Roadster was supplied in left-hand drive with automatic transmission and dispatched to British Leyland, New York on 25th October 1972. Between 2015 and 2017, over $46,000 was spent by its Texas-based owner in restoring both cosmetics and a mechanical overhaul which included a rebuilt automatic transmission and differential, overhauled fuel system, rebuilt and synchronized Stromberg carburettors, valve cover gaskets replaced and engine ignition system updated. Further upgrades included an Aluminium XKE specific radiator and fan, rebuilt disc brakes including master cylinder and booster and a rebuilt power steering rack. The car returned to the United Kingdom and was registered with the DVLA on 1st May 2018. The car remains matching numbers and this, together with the extensive list of recent works, inspired the confidence of our vendors purchase of the Jaguar on 23rd September 2018.With an odometer reading of 61,548 miles, at the time of cataloguing, and having covered some 3,000 miles of enjoyable motoring, our vendor presents this car to auction with recent receipts of £3,000 for a new hood and re-foaming of the seats by Aldridge Trimming, retaining the patinated black leather. The exhaust system has been upgraded to a stainless steel unit, a retro-looking DAB and Bluetooth-enabled radio has been installed and a battery isolator switch fitted. A wooden steering wheel has been fitted for aesthetic reasons but the original steering wheel has been retained for the sake of originality. The history file includes the V5C registration document, MOT Certificates, a vast amount of restoration invoices detailing the work carried out, its Jaguar Heritage Certificate and ownership history dating back to the early 1980s. For those wishing to enjoy some Continental touring in a comfortable classic, we cannot think of a more suitable left-hand drive V12 E-Type currently on the market.. SpecificationMake: JAGUARModel: E-TYPEYear: 1972Chassis Number: UC1S20839BWRegistration Number: FHH 458KTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 7575465ADrive Side: Left-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 61548 MilesMake: LHDInterior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

8,795 miles from new, gleaming Moonstone Blue and a superbly original Recaro interior, this is just a bit special. At its introduction in 1982, the Sierra's revolutionary new shape proved a touch more divisive than Ford had anticipated and some serious marketing became a priority, so it was the obvious choice to become the platform for Ford's new competition aspirations in conjunction with Cosworth. It fitted the brief well as it was rear-wheel drive, had good aerodynamics, albeit being prone to lift at high speeds, and was available as a three-door. The new body kit and rear spoiler would sort out the lift issues but, more importantly, Ford still needed to build 5,000 units for homologation, somewhat worrying when the company's initial approach to the dealer network came back with an estimate that suggested they could sell around 1,500 units! The eventual sales record is, of course, history. Ford went on to sell 5,545 three-door cars including the RS500, of which only 500 were built, and the Cosworth engine also found its way into nearly 30,000 Ford Sierra Saloons (Cosworth 3dr, Sapphire 2wd and 4wd).This amazing Sierra Cosworth dates from 1986 and has incredibly covered just 8,795 miles from new. Looking as crisp as ever in Moonstone Blue with a virtually unmarked Recaro grey cloth interior, just two former keepers have had the pleasure of owning this time-warp car from new. It was dry stored in 2003 and only recently emerged from hiding to undergo a thorough recommissioning in April of this year at a cost approaching £7,000. The originality of this car cannot be underestimated, and during its preparation for the sale our vendor employed a professional detailer to present the RS in its best light and he stated that it was perhaps the finest he had ever seen. It's supplied with the original purchase invoice for £16,630 from Henlys Ford, an original Henlys book pack including the owners handbook, audio guide, an official Press Information pack of the period and the Ford Service Plan booklet detailing its first service FOC and its first 6,000 miles service in April 1989 at 5,667 miles. It's simply remarkable to have this level of historical detail with an RS Cosworth all helping to corroborate the tiny mileage and astonishing originality. 'Original' is the key word here, frequently misused, but in the case of D50 UCU, totally appropriate and your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to confirm that we do not use the word lightly. The Cosworth has always been a car to draw attention, its radical 'whale tail' at the time ensured that it was always meant to be a poster boy of the era, but with their values now reaching such amazing levels, where do we see this, surely never to be repeated, low mileage example taking values today?  .   SpecificationMake: FORDModel: COSWORTHYear: 1987Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGM21728Registration Number: D50 UCUTransmission: ManualEngine Number: GM21728 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 8795 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 703

A very well-engineered, rarely used, and faithful recreation of the legendary GT40 in a fetching colour combination. The GT40 has its rightful spot in the car world Hall of Fame for its stunning and world shocking results by winning the 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1969 Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance race, toppling the seemingly unstoppable racing giant that was Ferrari. With race winning and period raced GT40s comfortably selling for mid-7 figure sums, with plenty of potential to reach 8 figures soon, it is no surprise that such a vast array of replicas, tributes and homages to this iconic racer have sprung up.MDA was one of the finest replica GT40 builders in Europe, starting off as G T Developments during the 80s, building over 380 cars for clients between 1988-1994 before transitioning into MDA in 1994. With a growing customer list wanting individual car builds with differing specifications and increasing levels of accuracy required, MDA hit every marker with a level of confidence that can only come from experience. Unfortunately, despite their successes, they were still a small business which fell foul of the 2008 recession and closed its doors for good, now supplying GT40 parts under the name of G T Racing. Before they closed, this fantastic Mk1 GT40 replica was already out the door and well on its way to completion. Registered with its first and only registered owner on 1st March 2012, the white paint contrasts well with the red striping giving the ‘beauty’ side to the car and a thumping Ford small block 302cu (5-litre) Windsor V8 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission providing the ‘beast’. The car has been thoroughly enjoyed since its completion, having taken part in classic car shows and local rallies within the UK, however it has only covered 6,017 miles from new having spent its recent years on display in a museum.A lot of replicas can look and feel cheap, but we are pleased to say this MDA GT40 has quite the opposite effect. Looking at the braided lines within the engine bay, the Hi-Spec motorsport braking system and extravagant exhaust, you can clearly see that a significant amount of money was spent on this car to ensure the driving experience was as jaw dropping as the visual experience.Despite being on display, the car was always kept in running and driving condition. Furthermore, it will come to the sale having received a mechanical once-over to instil maximum confidence to the buyer. Within the history file there is a build manual, photographs and a selection of invoices for servicing and maintenance over the years.Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and whilst this is usually a glorified way of saying something has been copied, in this case one would argue that for the looks and sounds of a GT40 for 100 times less than the real deal, it's a fair compromise. Reasonably priced, low mileage and very well built, what more could you ask for?SpecificationMake: MDAModel: GT40Year: 2012Chassis Number: MDAGT40MK1A171204Registration Number: V50 MDATransmission: ManualEngine Number: 018EZ3T11031398D13Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 5989 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

One of only 11 UK-market examples, 530bhp and 0-62 in 4.7 seconds, comprehensive service history and only two former keepers.Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH & Co. KG or simply ‘Alpina' - the official BMW tuning partner - has had a long and celebrated association with the Munich carmaker, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015. Credited with re-engineering some very special cars over the years, Alpina's approach is often to refine and build on the latent driving and styling characteristics of a standard car, adding a certain Alpina 'magic' that only they can bestow on a BMW. Their reputation and following are very strong, appealing to discerning buyers who want a special, rare, and characterful car. Such are their credentials that Alpina are now recognised by the German Ministry of Transport as an automobile manufacturer in their own right. The car presented here is a 2006 BMW Alpina B5 (E60) Saloon, one of only 428 examples produced worldwide. It's based on the 545i but powered by a modified version of that car’s 4.4-litre V8, with an Alpina-specific engine block, forged crankshaft, and low-compression Mahle pistons mated to a centrifugal supercharger – a potent combination. It also features Alpina’s own design of suspension, and brakes taken from the 760Li. A sublime performance saloon, this is a 530bhp machine, capable of covering ground effortlessly and 0-62 mph in 4.7 seconds. This particular B5 is a rare, UK-supplied example and is one of 11 such cars produced in individual Alpina Blue paintwork, allied to a black leather interior and grey walnut trim. This car is #157 as denoted by the Alpina plaque inside, and has had just two marque-enthusiast previous owners from new. This diligent ownership is evident in the car’s mechanical health and overall condition, belying its 94,000 miles, which equates to under 6,000 miles per annum. When new, this hand-built, high specification car came with £4,650 worth of optional extras, including full Nasca leather, electric memory, heated/actively ventilated front comfort seats, BMW iDrive multi-media system with Sat-Nav, DAB radio, CD player, BMW Hi-Fi system, Bluetooth phone preparation, Alpina multi-function leather stitched steering wheel with Tip-Tronic gear selection buttons, parking distance control front and rear, 19" Alpina alloy wheels, dual-climate control with air-conditioning, cruise control, electric folding door mirrors, heads-up display, electric rear sun blind, electric tilt and slide sunroof, Bi-xenon headlights, auto wipers, through loading system and Dynamic Stability Control. The car has been with our vendor since June 2017 and he describes it as being in ‘excellent condition’. The pre-delivery inspection and running-in check (at 1,068 miles) were carried out by Sytner BMW Sunningdale in June/July 2006 and the impressive service history confirms that the majority of the work was carried out by BMW up until 2020, and subsequently by a BMW specialist. More recent maintenance includes a new alternator and associated tensioner/belts, new brake reaction arms, new spark plugs, new front and rear brake discs and pads, new rear upper arms, new brake pipes all round, new Alpina front shock absorbers, a 2019 Sat-Nav/DVD update, plus new Bi-xenon headlight bulbs. The front tyres were replaced at 80,000 miles and the rear tyres at 90,000.The Alpina B5 is a hand-built super-saloon that Evo magazine described as 'bespoke in a way that the M5 could never be' and has M5-rivalling power with more torque produced at a lower RPM, giving a much more linear power delivery. This delightful example offers amazing value, given its ownership and service history, with lots of miles and excitement still on offer and that certain cachet of Alpina ownership.SpecificationMake: BMWModel: B5Year: 2006Chassis Number: WAPB544006RH10157Registration Number: FJ06 JHFTransmission: AutoEngine Number: 18117 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 94000 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Jersey delivered, UK-registered on 1st March 2022, MOT'd in October 2022 at 39,128 miles and an opportunity for cosmetic enhancement. Supplied with V5C, service book, manuals, main dealer receipts - Offered Without Reserve.Developed especially for British roads by Provide, the company which helped Colin McRae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg become World Rally Champions. Aerodynamically honed by Peter Stevens of McLaren F1 fame and based around a lighter and stiffer two-door bodyshell, the limited edition Prodrive One, abbreviated to P1, had more in common with the legendary 22B than its lesser four-door Subaru Impreza WRX siblings. All were painted in Sonic Blue and using the WRX STi Type R as a base, Prodrive engineers installed the anti-roll bars from the European-specification Impreza Turbo, along with firmer springs and shock absorbers, to deliver a suspension set up better suited to continental roads. The cars also featured ABS, as well as the Peter Stevens-designed anthracite OZ Racing wheels, front spoiler and rear wing. The car is powered by a revised version of the rally engine with re-calibrated electronics and developing no less than 280bhp, 69bhp more than the standard Impreza Turbo. With a big-bore exhaust, quick-shift gear linkage, 17” titanium-finish alloy wheels and a rally proven suspension set-up, the Impreza P1 limited run of 1,000 examples gained an instant cult following. As an eminently drivable sports-saloon very few examples of the P1 are available in today’s market that do not have six-figure odometer readings, crash damage or heavy modifications. As such, this 39,229 mile Impreza P1 offers a rare opportunity to cosmetically enhance a modern classic. It was supplied by Subaru main dealer Mauger’s Garage Ltd. of Jersey and subsequently serviced by them up until 2018 as evidenced by the stamped service book. Further maintenance receipts show in the name of the first owner and dated 2018 are included in the history file. Imported to the UK mainland and registered with the DVLA on 1st March 2022, it appears the car has been in storage and will be supplied to auction with a fresh MOT. The handbook wallet includes the original service book and owners manuals, aforementioned receipts, previous MOT Certificate and UK V5C.SpecificationMake: SUBARUModel: IMPREZAYear: 2000Chassis Number: JF1GM8KDGYG002543Registration Number: W863 XAATransmission: ManualEngine Number: 810284Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 39129 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

A very late production 1275GT restored to a remarkable standard.Launched in 1969, the Mini 1275GT was the 'hot' version of the new-look Mini Clubman and was intended to replace the old Mini Cooper S, which duly ended production in 1971, leaving the 1275GT as the only sporting Mini on sale for the rest of the decade. The Clubman and 1275GT were themselves replaced in 1980 by the new hatchback Metro.Entered from private ownership, this exceptional example is one of the last flagship sporting Mini 1275GTs. Having been manufactured between June 1979 and October 1980, it benefits from being registered as an Austin Morris Mini 1275GT as opposed to the BLMC and Leyland Cars title, that the vast majority of 1275GTs carry. It was meticulously restored over a period of some 24 months which finished in 2013, and there are documented invoices for all the works carried-out (exceeding £20,000) on file. The Mini has only covered around 500 miles since completion, having been carefully stored since. The comprehensive restoration included:-· The vehicle was carefully dismantled to component form, to be restored to the highest possible standard.· The body-shell was then forwarded for chemical Stripping to renowned experts, SPL (Surface Processing Limited).· Many replacement OEM panels were sourced, including; front wings, rear quarter panels, door skins, valances, gusset closing panels, front panel, sill panels, front & rear subframe MPs and much more besides which facilitated the painstaking bodywork restoration (detailed within the history file).· The car was then zinc etch-primed before being professionally repainted in gloss black, ‘stonechipped’ and subsequently benefitted from careful rustproofing throughout.· The engine was removed, rebuilt and ported with the benefit of a duplex chain fitted.· Newton Commercial interior panels including quality fitted carpets and headlining were fitted.· Le Mans seat package with Cobra frames.· Superlight 12” alloy wheels finished in complimentary gold/chrome effect.· Replacement chrome & brightwork throughout.· New wiring loom.· New Cibie driving lamps.· Replacement brake-linings throughout.· Replacement window-seals, vents etc.· Replacement clutch & brake cylinders etc.Our vendor has recently had the vehicle serviced including a coolant change and has supplied a fresh ‘no-advisory’ MOT which has been added to the car's history file alongside the invoices and photographic records of the restoration. SpecificationMake: MINIModel: AUSTIN MORRISYear: 1980Chassis Number: XE2D2000730759Registration Number: XCA 630WTransmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveClick here for more details and images

**SALEROOM NOTICE**It has been recently confirmed that pleasingly the engine is original to the car. The isetta retains its original 600 cc engine, that has been enhanced with 700 spec cylinders and pistons . The engine has not been swapped to a 700cc, as catalogued Rebuilt, personalised and fitted with a BMW 700 engine by Sir Stirling Moss. This is an exciting opportunity to own probably the most famous Isetta on the market today. The Italian-designed Isetta microcar was built under licence in a number of different countries, including Spain, Belgium, France, Brazil, Germany, and here in the United Kingdom. Produced in the post-World War II years, a time when cheap, short-distance transportation was most needed, it became one of the most successful and influential city cars ever created. Because of its egg shape and bubble-like windows, it became known as a "bubble car', a term later used to encompass a wide variety of similar vehicles. With space for two and their luggage, the Isetta was perfect for the UK's urban and rural roads and, in 1957, Isetta GB began producing the 300 model at their factory in Brighton under licence from BMW. The British cars were right-hand drive with the opening front door hinged from the right hand side of the car and the steering column moved across to the right as well. This meant that the driver and engine were on the same side, so a counterweight was added to the left side to compensate. Lucas electrics replaced the German Hella and Bosch components, a different headlamp housing was used and Girling brake components replaced the ATE brake parts. However, with only two seats, the Isetta's market, particularly in Germany, was limited and BMW felt that they needed something larger. Management had already committed to making an entirely new model - the 700 - and resources were limited, so the decision was made to create a lengthened Isetta for the time being until the 700 arrived in 1959. Deriving its name from the BMW R67 motorcycle-sourced 700cc 'boxer' engine, the four-wheel 600 looked just like other Isettas at the front but featured a new perimeter frame and the first ever use of semi-trailing arm suspension on a BMW motorcar. A second row of seats and a right-hand side door added space and usability. The resultant design, with some input from Michelotti apparently, was clean, well-presented, well constructed, and reasonably quick and, with a wheel at each corner, handled well. It was rather expensive, however, costing more than a new Beetle and consequently sold in limited numbers as customers awaited the arrival of the more conventionally-shaped 700 in late 1959.The stunningly presented BMW Isetta on offer here is indeed one of those 600 models and enjoys some remarkable provenance. It was delivered new to Sweden where it spent the first years of its life before arriving in the UK and subsequently being purchased by the late Sir Stirling Moss at a Beaulieu auction. It was in a rather sorry state and Sir Stirling set about a restoration with the help and assistance of his chosen Isetta specialist. Well known for his love of gadgets, innovation and experimentation (the majority of his road cars were tweaked and improved), Stirling decided that the 600 would benefit from a bit more power and, with his legendary charisma, talked BMW into parting with a 700 engine (an enlarged version of the flat-twin used in the R67 motorcycle offering 697cc and over 30bhp)  which was duly slotted in to the little Isetta. There is a letter in the accompanying history file from Stirling to the next owner confirming he asked BMW to help him with the engine. When the rebuild was complete, Stirling used the car around London and his son, Elliot, learned how to drive in this very car as you can see in the accompanying photographs.Subsequently, BGC 408G was sold but it appears that it may have been lightly used and perhaps, poorly stored as, when it was acquired by our vendor around 10 years ago, it wasn't in the best of condition. As recently as ten years ago Sir Stirling Moss was still a household name and our vendor was determined to return this unique Isetta to its sparkling best so, not long after his purchase, he commenced a nut and bolt restoration having stripped the car back to bare metal. Naturally, during the initial restoration, Sir Stirling had specified his choice of exterior colour and trim along with a number of detailed modifications and our vendor was keen to recreate those in order to present the car as it was during Sir Stirling's ownership. The work was done ‘in house’ as the seller enjoys the resources and capability of his race team. The restoration finished in the summer of 2021 and we understand that over £30,000 has been invested over the years which we wouldn't doubt given the sheer quality of the result.Once the restoration was finished, the Isetta was included in the Sir Stirling Moss parade at the 2021 Goodwood Revival as a tribute to the great man and, in 2022, the car featured in an ITV television show called The Car Years in which it was selected to argue the case for the best city car in 1957 against a rival Fiat 500.All told, this is a rare and special car in its own right that’s had an enormous amount of money spent on it in order to get it to its current condition and, combined with the fact it was owned by Sir Stirling Moss OBE, one of the greatest Grand Prix drivers of all time, a world wide sporting personality and undoubtedly a true British icon, this is an exciting opportunity to own probably the most famous Isetta on the market today.SpecificationMake: BMWModel: ISETTAYear: 1957Chassis Number: 126922Registration Number: BGC 408GTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 142873Drive Side: Left-hand DriveMake: LHDInterior Colour: Blue/BlackClick here for more details and images

A superbly restored, matching numbers example of arguably the first 'Fast Ford' that was to inspire Carol Shelby's GT350.Some say that the Ford Mustang created its own industry sector by offering an affordable sports car for the daily commute, performance to raise a smile when in the mood and enough space for the family when required. That may well have been the case, however, it mattered not as the Mustang became a worldwide success story. The second of two models, the Coupe was marketed as the hardtop version of the convertible, and is today known as the 'Notchback'. The sportier-looking Fastback Coupe was launched in early 1965, clearly defining the Mustang range and was the genesis for the line of performance Mustangs that followed. An early example of those hot (well warm) Mustangs from the production line was the 289 High Performance (Hi-Po) which was later to form the basis for Carroll Shelby's legendary GT350.Records show that just 466 1965 K-Code cars were built at Ford's Dearborn factory, many destined for Shelby's Los Angeles workshops. The example offered here is a February 19th 1965 registered Ford Mustang K-code Hi-Po refinished to the most exacting standards. It's possibly the finest early correct example available worldwide and all tuned Mustangs, even today, can trace their DNA back to this car. Purchased by our UK vendor three years ago in the United States, the restoration was carried out by the renowned Mustang expert and MCA judge, Denis Frances, of Danville Virginia. It was subject to a bare-metal, rotisserie restoration with the unusual brief to present the car exactly as it would have left the factory complete with factory overspray detail and crayon marks. Finished in Caspian Blue and with a black interior and Carlite factory tinted glass, it is totally faithful to the original specification and retains its original door plate. Its original V8 289 Hi-Po engine was rebuilt at the same time as the restoration at a cost of $7,000 by a top US engine builder. The 4-speed. "top-loader' manual gearbox was also rebuilt at the time and the full specification includes black Decor seats, 9-inch differential, front discs with dual master cylinder, date-correct seat belts, correct steel wheels and reproduced Arvinode exhausts. This Mustang really is as good as it gets, and with just 300 miles since the restoration it caught the eye of our vendor on a plinth at the Silverstone Auctions NEC Classic Motor Show in 2014. In more recent years, it has been rightly displayed on the 'Pride of Ownership' stand and the vendor has covered some 1,200 miles in the car since. Our vendor has subsequently added a spare wheel with cover, fitted a period correct radio with modern electrics, prop-shaft seals and a passenger side window regulator, with the works carried out by noted specialist Bill Shepherd Mustang at a cost of £2,358.Presented to auction with a history file that includes recent receipts, V5C, owners manuals, a book entitled 'The 289 Mustang High Performance Mustang Story'  and an odometer reading of 20,987 miles at the time of cataloguing.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: MUSTANGYear: 1965Chassis Number: 5F09K640857Registration Number: FNA 392CTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 640857 Drive Side: Left-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 20987 MilesMake: LHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Fabulous, first-generation, Mulliner-specification Flying Spur with less than 33,000 miles from new.Introduced in 2005 to complement Bentley’s existing two-door Continental GT model, the four-door Flying Spur used a stretched version of its sibling’s platform. Powered by the same twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine allied to 6-speed automatic transmission, the luxury sports saloon boasted 552bhp and 479lbft of torque; outputs sufficient for 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds and 194mph. Equipped with adaptive air suspension, continuous damping control and Torsen-based permanent four-wheel drive, the big Bentley proved surprisingly nimble. This impressive example is finished in Tempest Silver with beige leather interior and was first registered on 29th August 2006. It has enjoyed four years with our vendor and has covered just 32,386 miles. Despite this low mileage, the service records contain 12 service stamps suggesting diligent ownership and was most recently serviced in November 2021 by an independent Bentley specialist with less than 300 miles travelled since. It will be freshly MOT'd just prior to our sale and is supplied with both keys.LK56 CVG was factory fitted with a bespoke  Mulliner package which included a cross-stitched diamond pattern in the leather seats, embroidered headrests, drilled alloy pedals, 21-inch alloys and a sports-mode driving option. A stylish example of Aston's elegant DB7 in a lovely colour combination that has covered just over 18,000 miles.Introduced to an astonished public in 1993, the handsome new DB7 was Aston Martin's first six-cylinder model since production of the DBS had finished in 1971. Styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen if you looked carefully. Arguably, one of the most attractive looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the '7' was more approachable than the leviathans that had immediately preceded it. Well received, it attracted new customers worldwide, with the traditional layout of the curvaceous two door coupé body, robust six-cylinder engine and a 'proper' interior. Power was supplied by an all-alloy, double overhead camshaft, supercharged, 24-valve, in-line six-cylinder engine which produced 335bhp at 5,750rpm. In the same way that the beautiful little Sixties' Lotus Elan morphed, over the years, into the be-winged Esprit Turbo, the DB7 was the first in the line of modern Astons that have become more dramatic with each new model, however, we feel that the simple purity of line of the DB7 will ultimately define the breed. We are very pleased to be able to offer this lovely DB7 presented in Mendip Blue with a stunning light grey leather interior, that has covered a mere 18,155 miles from new. The current custodian bought the car in March 2020 when he moved to France, however complex French vehicle regulations have meant that it has proved difficult to register over there and consequently he is reluctantly offering the Aston for sale. It will come to our NEC Sale with a fresh MOT and will therefore be immediately ready to use by its next lucky owner. Whilst in his care, the current technical engineer keeper has added some value by way of changing the grille to a super chrome version, stainless steel tail pipes have been added, the front brakes have been upgraded to Brembos and all fluids have been changed including the gearbox oil, engine oil and all relevant filters. The car is supplied with its original book pack and stamped service book and, we understand, is 'on the button'.This elegant Aston could grace any private collection, would make an excellent weekend cruiser or even, a slightly indulgent daily driver.    SpecificationMake: ASTON MARTINModel: DB7Year: 1996Chassis Number: SCFAA1117SK100491Registration Number: N246 BKRTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: AM1/0200298Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 18155 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Car 459 of a limited edition of 1,000 marking the end of production of VW South Africa's version of the iconic Golf Mk1 in 2009, UK registered and just 16,598km.When Volkswagen released the original Golf in 1974, the car was an overnight success. Easy, economical to drive and inexpensive to maintain. Volkswagen South Africa started the assembly of the Golf Mk1 under licence in 1978, however, when the second generation Golf arrived in 1984, Volkswagen South Africa found themselves unable to supply the demand for a small, affordable entry-level car, as the Mk2 was bigger and somewhat more expensive than its predecessor. The most viable option for VW SA was to continue producing a variant of the Mk1, designed to fill the gap in the market for a reliable, solid, safe car for the local population. Using the same body shell as the Mk1, the 'Citi Golf' was launched in 1984 as a mildly facelifted,1.6-litre, five-door, alongside companion saloon and two-door utility models. The Citi Golf's 25 year lifespan saw hundreds of modifications, both cosmetic, to satisfy consumer demand, and mechanical to comply with safety and emission standards. Cost savings from using the Mk1 shell allowed the Citi to be better appointed than its rivals, with accessories made available over the years from the Volkswagen Group parts department. To commemorate the end of production of the Citi in 2009, the Citi Mk1 was launched. This edition was limited to just 1,000 cars, with special features that included lowered suspension, 15” alloy wheels, tinted windows, a leather sports steering wheel with airbag, and chrome foil side-stripes. The lovely example on offer here is Number 459 of those 1,000 cars and is finished in Black Magic Pearl, one of two colours available, and optioned with half-leather seats trimmed with black cloth. It was imported into the UK and registered with the DVLA on the 1st October 2019 as 'YL09 OZK, however, our vendor thought that particular registration did not quite suit the little Citi, so it now wears the current private registration, RRZ 9617, which will remain with the car.Presented to auction in exceptional condition with just 16,598 kilometres or 10,313 miles at the time of cataloguing, the service book states that the most recent service was carried out less than 435 km ago 22nd September 2021 and the car has just been issued with an advisory free MOT. An official book commemorating the Citi, unused mats still in their Volkswagen packaging, VWSA brochures, main dealer service receipts, VW heritage letter, original radio and bill of sale accompany the car.Whilst the car’s condition and rarity warrants a place in a collection, it is also eminently suitable as a daily driver for the enthusiast that loves the retro looks of a classic car but appreciates the modern enhancements fitted by the manufacturer from new. It sits within its own niche in the market and elements of the car’s features may seem incongruous at first glance but make perfect sense in context, however, you'll probably never see another and despite its humble origins, its sheer rarity means it would be welcome anywhere.SpecificationMake: VWModel: GOLFYear: 2009Chassis Number: AAVZZZ17Z9U015442Registration Number: RRZ 9617Transmission: ManualEngine Number: AFX088681 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 10313 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Leather/ClothClick here for more details and images

A well-presented later example with 3.2-litre engine, recent clutch and excellent weather equipment.Testing a Lagonda 3-Litre in 1929, The Motor marvelled at the flexibility of the engine (capable of accelerating from 5mph to 80mph in top gear) and stated that it was “difficult to imagine a car nearer an ideal than one which combines the full performance of a speed model with the top gear performance of the best modern touring car.” Sentiments echoed by Motor Sport who declared the 3-Litre to be “a very pleasant car of very high quality and possessing that indefinable but very definite character which stamps the thoroughbred in every walk of life.”  In total, some 580 3-Litre models were made before it was replaced in 1934 by the new M45 (with the improved ZMBS chassis and Meadows 4.25 6ESC engine) and it's thought that only around 150 survive today.Delivered new to a customer in Victoria, Australia, this 1934 3.2-litre Lagonda was originally fitted with ST24A saloon coachwork. It was owned by the Williams family and would have been a very expensive purchase back then. By the late 1940s, it was in the hands of Bill Brooks who sold it to Don Frazer in Adelaide in 1961 who ran an engineering business. It was he who rebodied the car in its current form, a sporting four-seat tourer using the original scuttle, bonnet and wings. He kept it until 1972, passing it to Gordon Lindsay who was to enjoy the car for another few years before it moved to Tasmania to a new owner Bart Hutchings. He soon sent it to local restorer Nigel Grace for attention, the bodywork being refurbished and repainted green with black wings – the livery it wears today.A change of hands again and a trip to New Zealand followed, before arriving back in the UK in 1989 when it was registered MSU 895. Our vendor is a stalwart of the VSCC and knowledgeable Lagonda enthusiast and since purchasing the 3-Litre in 2005 he has enjoyed it very much and has kept on top of care and maintenance. Around three years ago, the door cards were retrimmed and a new hood and tonneau fitted, along with some restoration of the sidescreens and, in May 2020 he had a new clutch fitted, the invoice remaining on file for the parts from the Lagonda Club. It also comes with a copy handbook, manual and a 'Buff' logbookDescribed by our vendor as in nice but not concours condition, it runs and drives really well and looks to be a good usable example with attractive coachwork and decent performance.SpecificationMake: LAGONDAModel: 3-LITREYear: 1934Chassis Number: Z10888Registration Number: MSU 895Transmission: ManualEngine Number: 2637Drive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDInterior Colour: Green LeatherClick here for more details and images

A multiple show-winning, and magazine-featured '55 Bel-Air beautifully restored with amazing attention to detail.Offered here is a 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air Saloon that has been subject to a complete body-off restoration finished to very high standards and the quality of the finish achieved has allowed this ’50s American Saloon to feature in magazine articles and take numerous awards at shows and events. Truly spectacular, finished in correct original colours of Regal Turquoise with Indian Ivory and a remarkably well detailed turquoise interior.  At the time of cataloguing, the speedometer indicated just 12,920 miles which appears to be since restoration. The rebuild was total ground-up nut and bolt including all new inner and outer panels, front and rear wings, door sills and floor pan. The panel fit is excellent across the entire body including the doors. Paint finish remains very good along with all the fixtures and chrome-work. The interior is a work of art with seats retrimmed correctly in keeping with the original ‘50s Bel-Air pattern and all instruments appear to function correctly.Documents within the history file suggest that the six-cylinder, 3.9-litre engine has been replaced by a new 5.7-litre GM Factory unit upgraded with performance enhancements including ‘Pro-heads’, four-barrel Holley carburettor, twin exhaust system, uprated manifolds and an improved cooling system with aluminium radiator and cooling fans. On test the Bel Air fires into life with ease thanks to the electronic choke, sounds very healthy and makes good oil pressure. Out on the road, the car is an absolute pleasure to drive with the 3-speed transmission smooth and responsive, relatively precise steering and decent brakes.Accompanying the Bel Air is a substantial history file with numerous invoices for works completed in the US before import into the UK. Once back here, a previous owner took the car to the next level of detail and more invoices can be found evidencing further extensive works. All import documentation is on file and the car is correctly registered with a current V5C ready for transfer or export. A feature in ‘Classic American’ July 2020 outlines one man's obsession to create the perfect '50s Bel Air – successfully achieved it seems. Numerous trophies accompany the car for ‘Best in Show’ at specialist American car and hot-rod events. A professional private classic car inspection report can also be found in the file which supports the integrity of this example totally. This is a beautifully finished 1950s American Saloon which could be a focal point of any car collection or will continue to attract all the right attention from Concours judges or enthusiasts at classic car events. Very impressive Plus 8 restored and upgraded to a level rarely seen.Although Rover's attempts to acquire the Morgan Car Company in 1966 had proved fruitless, it nevertheless granted the sports car manufacturer access to its newly acquired, ex-Buick lightweight aluminium V8 engine with a view to cementing a supply contract. Hired by the Malvern works to assess the powerplant's merits/suitability, race engineer Maurice Owen lost little time in shoehorning one into a Morgan Plus 4 chassis. With trials of the resultant prototype successfully undertaken in 1967, the Plus 8 debuted at the following year's Earls Court Motor Show. Its lengthy production run has seen the Plus 8 alter little in outward appearance, save for ever widening wheelarches accommodating fatter rubber, yet beneath the skin the changes have been innumerable. Better gearboxes, fuel injection, rack-and-pinion steering, improved corrosion protection and paint, telescopic rear dampers, air bags and the obligatory catalytic converter have all become part of the Plus 8 picture over the years, along, of course, with bigger engines to offset the inevitable increase in weight.Dating from 1990, E9 MOG was chosen by our vendor for it’s exceptional build quality having been restored by renowned Morgan expert Kevin Vernon of Tudor Motors. During the process the car benefitted from many refinements and upgrades and it's estimated that the parts and labour costs for the enhancements and upgrades ‘E9 MOG’ enjoys, would be in the region of £40,000 in today’s market. These include;· RPI new Land Rover 4.6-litre V8 engine - recent Dyno rolling-road test indicating 230bhp· RPI Piper 272 fast road cam· RPI lightened flywheel· RPI Superflare plenum trumpets· RPI chromed Morgan plenum chamber· Jaguar/Bosch AFM· FSE adjustable rising-rate fuel pressure regulator· Mallory Unilite distributor (bespoked to the car)· Mallory high performance chrome coil· RPI chromed valve covers· Morgan branch manifolds (metalized)· Stainless twin Morgan exhaust system· JEGS polished stainless exhaust tips· Griffin bespoke performance-fit aluminium radiator· SPAL electric cooling fan· Mulberry polished aluminium overflow· Morgan R380 5-speed gearbox (rebuilt)· Morgan Salisbury steering rack· Mulberry anti-tramp bars· Shortened Morgan rebound springs· Morgan suspension rear hoop· Hard chromed Kingpins with bronze bushes· Rutherford AVO shock absorbers (front & rear)· Caparo Morgan brake hydraulics & calipers (upgraded)· Portferfield fast road brakes· Kunifer brake lines & stainless flexible brake hoses· 4 x New Michelin Primacy tyres· Refurbished alloy wheels· Fully refurbished chassis (stripped, primed, painted & sealed) with stainless steel fittings· Wooden chassis elements removed & re-treated with another Cuprinol coat· New Superform (lightweight) front & rear wings· Polished Heart of England front & rear plinths, door latch covers etc· Morgan telescopic mirror bases with upgraded mirrors· Chromed Morgan windscreen supports· Polished stainless luggage carrier· Jaguar X120 Tri-pod halogen headlamps· Lucas LR576 chrome sport lamps· Bespoke Kauffelt dash made by Mathias (incorporating VDO instruments)· Bespoke rear storage bins· 6006E 6-Disc CD multi-changer (Burr Walnut Fascia) with Infinity speakers· Original mohair top, tonneau & side-screens· Classic chrome lap-latch seatbelt systemThe car appears superbly finished in Bentley Sapphire Blue with a discreet pearl-effect and the original leather upholstery has been well cared-for and remains in excellent condition. An original UK-supplied, right-hand drive, matching-numbers, manual gearbox, V12 carefully restored in the past.A decade after the original Jaguar E-type arrived, the design progressively matured through 1971 with the introduction of the Series 3. Designed to showcase the new smooth and torquey 5.3-litre engine, originally developed for Le Mans, the Series 3 cars were available as a 'Roadster' (convertible) or a 2+2 Coupe. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by its large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, a larger bonnet bulge, updated bumpers, four exhaust tips, and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It also featured uprated brakes, power steering as standard and a large horizontal scoop added to the underside of the bonnet to assist with cooling. The interior was entirely new in the V12, with more comfortable seating, stylish new door panels and a smaller dished and leather-rimmed steering wheel. Being slightly larger and altogether much softer in nature, the E-type in Series 3 form had lost the wildness of its youth but gained the long-legged touring profile, to which it was arguably better suited.Having been with its current owner for the last 32 years, this Primrose Yellow Series 3 E-Type Roadster with a black interior and mohair hood remains in excellent condition throughout having been restored in the 1980s with replacement panels as required and a partial retrim completed. With regular care and maintenance, this Jaguar has led a cossetted life and, after a recent mechanical recommission carried out after a period of little use, it's now ready for its next lucky owner. The current indicated mileage is just 39,446, believed to be the genuine mileage covered since first registration in December 1974, as supported by the accompanying history file which contains relevant paperwork and a quantity of invoices going back to day one. Presented in outstanding unmolested condition, this lovely Series 3 has a real air of originality and, although restored some years ago, the condition is such that is now ready to be used and enjoyed as intended. In E-Type terms, this lovely example seems to tick all the boxes; UK-supplied, right-hand drive, manual gearbox, matching numbers, Pale Primrose, chrome wires, long-term ownership, low mileage, an older restoration that's mellowing nicely and sensibly guided.  SpecificationMake: JAGUARModel: E-TYPEYear: 1974Chassis Number: IS2288Registration Number: GRR 600NTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 7S132445BDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 39466 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Rare South African, two-door, long stick Range Rover Classic recently sympathetically restored. The no-nonsense Land Rover was an unashamed agricultural workhorse and, though fully roadable, was never intended to cosset its occupants. Therefore, from day one, there lay scope for the production of a sibling that combined the Landie’s much vaunted off-road prowess with a greater degree of on-road chic and comfort. Though various such plans were mooted in the 1950s, it was the emergence of the SUV market in America a decade later that finally convinced Rover to create such a model. Spen King famously oversaw the 100 inch Station Wagon project that was finally revealed to the world as the Range Rover in 1970 - a David Bache design that created a whole new genre of go-anywhere vehicles, which remains in full bloom today. This right-hand drive, manual gearbox, two-door Range Rover Classic was imported from South Africa in 2018 by the car's previous owner who purchased it from a friend who lives out there. Once back in the UK, it was subject to a sympathetic restoration over a two-year period which included a glass-out respray in Lincoln Green, new tan interior including the headlining, new fuel tank, fuel pump, steering box, alternator, refurbished carbs, a full brake overhaul, five new tyres and the wheels powder coated in silver.Purchased just over two years ago by our vendor, it has been lightly used and regularly serviced by him during that period and still presents beautifully. The odometer indicates some 43,000 miles, but naturally this is not warranted, and the car is supplied with its V5C and some previous history and restoration bills.Two-door Classic Range Rovers are wholly endearing and always seem in fashion, blending in effortlessly whether at Goodwood or a local country show, and this nicely restored example will be welcome anywhere. SpecificationMake: LAND ROVERModel: RANGE ROVERYear: 1979Chassis Number: 35753919Registration Number: EEL 827TTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 24G04105BDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 43000 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Tan VinylClick here for more details and images

One of only 10 built by Vauxhall Dealers, Mamos of Greenford, with only three believed to still exist.A Vauxhall Chevette HS is a rare beast indeed, a Vauxhall Chevette ‘HS-X’ even more so and offers a very interesting alternative to the usual items on your 1980s shopping list.  Based on the increasingly desirable HS Homologation special the HS-X evolved under the watch of Mamos of Greenford, Middlesex, Vauxhall specialists, who described themselves as 'a different type of Vauxhall dealer' and were well known for producing ‘dealer specials’. The idea was penned by David Harley, and was based on the ‘Black Magic’ car by Wayne Cherry, and featured black paintwork rather than the traditional silver. The HS-X package also gave buyers the option to specify the graphics, making each car unique. They were marketed under the banner 'X-Rated. For Adults Only'  a bit corny but it was 1980. 10 cars were believed to have been built with just three still thought to exist.Purchased by the present owner and Vauxhall fanatic some 20 years ago, the Chevette has been lovingly cared for and preserved until this very day, remaining resplendent in its black paint with distinctive red decals. Under the bonnet sits the renowned 2,300 twin-cam unit mated to a 5-speed gearbox, sitting over the rally-bred and upgraded suspension with front and rear spoilers adding to the intrigue. Internally there are reclining front seats, extra dials, 2-speed wipers and floor to door carpeting for which you had to contribute an additional £1,400 over and above the list price, a King’s ransom back in the day!  Expertly restored including the recently rebuilt engine, this HS-X must surely represent what is one of the most desirable Vauxhalls of the era and one that would grace any serious collection. Car #017 of just 50 official UK-market Passion Red examples, covering just over 30,000 miles from new.Launched at the peak of rally mania, Mitsubishi experienced huge success in Lancer Evolution sales, reportedly selling 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! The 1996 WRC season brought Mitsubishi its first World Rally Championship drivers’ title, with thanks to a blisteringly quick driver named Tommi Makinen. In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI came to be and, in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite driver’s four consecutive WRC drivers’ titles from 1996-1999; the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Makinen Edition (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour-de-force but the TME came equipped with a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension, quicker steering, an upgraded exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper for improved cooling and authentic 17-inch WRC Enkei alloy wheels. The interior featured embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw 0-60mph despatched in 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be north of 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'Gentleman’s agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge, it was available in five colours, with Passion Red and Canal Blue joining Scotia White, Pyrenean Black and Satellite Silver. Only 250 TMEs (across the five colours) were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia, and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese market. Official figures show that of the UK’s allocation, only 50 examples were in Passion Red.  According to Mitsubishi, it was these Passion Red cars that automatically received the renowned racing decals, known as a 'Special Colour Package' (SCP), meaning that these examples were factory-fitted with black door handles (so as to not break the line of the long profile decal). In the world of Mitsubishi aficionados, the consensus is that there were just 212 official factory SCP examples of the TME produced. The car presented here is very special indeed. Not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition (CP9A/SNGF2) SCP car (i.e. one of 212), but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated Ralliart UK; hence it would have been professionally SVA’d and is supplied with UK service books, a calibrated speedometer, an unleaded-spec fuel restrictor, cold-climate battery and alternator, plus it is individually numbered on a plaque in the cabin (No. 017). The car was originally sold to its first owner through Marshall Mitsubishi of Cambridge and has an impressive service history, which combined with MOT data helps verify the indicated mileage of just 30,085.Hugely collectable and skyrocketing in both value and rarity, these cars are rightly touted as an appreciating modern-classic, with all the ingredients to be a shrewd investment.  This is arguably the ultimate iteration of all road-going Mitsubishis. A true opportunity to both own and enjoy, safe in the knowledge that interest and demand continues to grow for these original rally homologation icons, with USA import excitedly looming on the horizon.SpecificationMake: MITSUBISHIModel: EVOYear: 2000Chassis Number: CP9A0201431Registration Number: Y6 MAKTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 4G63BG2252Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 30077 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black/Red ClothClick here for more details and images

Absolutely magnificent and an incredibly rare survivor, this right-hand drive, W186 300 is on offer from an important Mercedes-Benz Collection.Daimler-Benz AG emerged from the smoking rubble of World War II in somewhat precarious health, with production plants that had been pretty comprehensively levelled by Allied bombing. Far from being a broken nation, the resilience of the workforce was remarkable and Mercedes-Benz resumed car production in 1946, albeit with the pre-war 170V, a modest middle-class car that had been their best-seller in the 1930s. However, in less than six years, the company was sufficiently confident to return to the luxury market when the Mercedes 300 was introduced at the 1951 Frankfurt Motor Show and for the duration of the 50s, Mercedes-Benz prestige line-up was based on the 300 range, at the heart of which was essentially the same superb 2996cc overhead-camshaft six-cylinder engine found in the legendary 300SL 'Gullwing'.The 300 Saloon was aimed squarely at Captains of Industry and Heads of State - indeed, the model was nicknamed 'Adenauer' after Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. In office from 1949 to 1963, he employed six custom convertible, hardtop, and landaulet versions during his tenure. Inside, the 300 was beautifully executed in polished wood, with deep bucket seats trimmed in either cloth or leather and a division was available as an option for those who preferred to be chauffeur driven. Improvements came with the 300B of 1954 in the form of twin Solex carburettors, along with servo-assisted brakes and minor styling changes while the 300C model of September 1955 saw the option of a Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic for the American market.Offered here is a truly magnificent and rather rare right-hand drive Mercedes-Benz (W186) 300 ‘Adenauer’ finished in glorious green with grey leather upholstery. First registered in October 1954, today this spectacular saloon indicates 45,563 miles at the time of cataloguing which, although cannot be officially verified, is understood to be correct. Consigned from over 30 years in a private Mercedes-Benz collection and selected for its superb condition, the 300 has benefitted from correct dry storage over the years, has been enjoyed occasionally and is well maintained. The interior is well-preserved and the original grey leather upholstery, wooden door caps, veneers, Bakelite and chrome all present with a patina commensurate with the car’s age. Accompanying the car is a history file including the old registration documents, MOTs and related paperwork. We are informed the classic Mercedes-Benz will be presented to auction fully serviced and checked over ready for any inspection. This is an important car. The moment it rolled off the ship in 1954 marked the beginning of the end of many years of hostility and the start of nearly 70 years of a growing relationship between two great industrial nations. It's difficult to look out of your window now and not see a sleek example of German style and advanced Teutonic automotive engineering and this dramatic Mercedes 300, with its elegant looks and modern technology, was one of the handful of cars that took that first step. SpecificationMake: MERCEDES-BENZModel: 300DYear: 1954Chassis Number: 1860114500740Registration Number: 620 HYXTransmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 45563 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images

Lot 641

An older restored V8 presented in a classic dark metallic green and benefitting from much recent expenditure.Unveiled in August 1973, the Series 3 differed from earlier cars with the arrival of four, twin-choke, downdraft Weber carburettors which replaced the previous Bosch fuel injection system. To accommodate this new arrangement, the bonnet sported a much larger and distinctive bulge that continued to the trailing edge and a lip adjacent to the boot replaced extractor louvers behind the rear window. Longer by a further ¾ inch, there were other modifications mechanically, cooling was improved and an option was offered on axle ratios. Internally, new seats, revised switchgear, a larger ashtray and fuses located in the glovebox. The passenger door could be locked electronically from the drivers side and adjustments to the shape of the fuel tank had given extra luggage space. This lovely example dates from 1974 and is a genuine matching numbers car finished in dark metallic green with tan leather. It benefits from air-conditioning, power-assisted steering and sits on a set of GKN alloys. Within the history file is a list of work carried out in the past and in addition to all the normal maintenance, wear and tear items it appears that in 1991 at 67,000 miles Aston Engineering in Derby carried out some structural repairs to the car. This included replacing the inner/outer sills, outriggers, jacking points and the car was repainted. It also lists an engine rebuild at 68,000 miles.A list from our vendor of more recent work includes new under arch panels, front valance repaired, new sills, brake servo rebuilt, alternator rebuilt, new brake pipes, new selector-shaft on the auto box, carburettors tuned and balanced, Waxoyled, new carpets, fix central locking, engine bay detailed and a full oil and plug service. The current indicated mileage is just under 79,000.The Aston has been enjoyed by three owners since 1977 and appears to have been well looked after. These, older generation, V8 Astons are full of character and repay regular maintenance and importantly, regular use. This sensibly guided example has obviously benefitted from both of those and according to our vendor is  'running and driving beautifully'.SpecificationMake: ASTON MARTINModel: V8Year: 1974Chassis Number: V8/11238/RCARegistration Number: GDV 265NTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: V/540/1238Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 79000 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BEIGE LEATHERClick here for more details and images
