A large Georgian style inlaid mahogany sideboard with ornate brass gallery and crossbanded shaped top, the shaped front fitted with a combination of a large serpentine front drawer, flanked on the left by two short drawers and on the right by a cupboard door with two dummy drawer fronts, raised on square tapering legs with spade feet.
An early 19th Century oak cased grandfather clock with flared dentil cornice above a glazed arched panelled door enclosing a brass dial, roman and arabic numerals, with engraved symbol of a deer, inscribed in a circular panel above the dial "Western, Wolsingham", the door flanked on either side by turned pilasters above a trunk with reeded corners and crossbanded door, box base with cutaway plinth base.
A painted red brick English dolls house, front opening, with four large 16 pane windows and two long windows. With a pediment and egg and dart detail. The door with grained painted finish. The interior with five rooms and unusual concealed staircase. An attic room now nailed shut. Re-papered 1910 but some earlier red papers underneath but mainly original floor coverings. The furniture including two feather armchairs, original grates. Three original chimneypieces. Washboard, later mangle, china part dinner service, brass gothic style chair, enamel umbrella stand. A late Victorian walnut cabinet, the moulded edge top originally with a gallery above four short drawers the top one stamped `HOWARD & SONS, BERNERS ST.`, and a gilt leaded glazed door enclosing two shelves, above three long graduated drawers, on flattened bun feet, 50.5in (128cm) h, 39in (98.9cm) w, 16.25in (41cm) d.
A giltwood and gesso table top vitrine, with a cushion moulded and floral relief decorated framed hinged door, to a plush lined interior with a glass shelf on ogee bracket feet, early 20th century, 27.25in (69cm) h, 36.5in (92.5cm) w, 7.25in (18.5cm) d. Provenance: Princess Alice, H.R.H. The Duchess of Gloucester, Kensington Palace. Sold to the vendor November 1977.
