Patent circular slide valves, cylinder drain cocks, Salter’s type safety valves, ratchet oiler systems, cross-head guides, Stephenson’s reverse gear, crank with brass oiler cups, spoked flywheels, chimney covers, direction quadrant with lever controls, steering wheels, geared ploughing drums to lower part of engines with associated fittings and wire ropes.The models finished in traditional black lined paintwork with polished bright-work and cast builder's plates to smoke box door. ‘John Fowler & Co (Leeds) Ltd. Engineers. Leeds. The engines numbered Nos 13471 and 13472. on engraved oval brass plaques, polished brass boiler bands, tool boxes fitted to front axles, mud holes, spoked and straked wheels and fitted foot boards to boiler sides. The models are being sold together with a 2 inch scale 6 furrow balance plough built to a high standard, a 2 inch scale cultivator and water bowser finished in light blue paintwork. The model with multi tube boiler and cab fittings including steam pressure gauge, water sight-glass with glazed protector frame, regulator, direction control quadrant with graduations and lever, lever operated fire-box door, plus other traditional fittings, detailing and associated pipework. The chassis having twin outside cylinders with piston valves, Walschaert’s valve gear, ratchet oiler driven from fluted motion, clack valves, polished copper pipework, brake gear, safety valves, injector and polished brass steam whistle. The eight-wheel double bogie tender with fitted hand brake, driver's seat and access ladder fitted to back. The model finished in polished steel and black livery with cab side name plate ‘Cincinnati’, smoke box circular builders plate ‘The Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia 61424 USA 1930’. locomotive number plate to smoke box door, polished copper pipework, brass lamp to front of locomotive and brass bell to top of locomotive being operated from cab interior. The 4000-gallon six-wheel tender with coal compartment and water pump. An extremely fine and historically important 9½ inch gauge model of the LNWR Precursor Class 4-4-0 locomotive and tender No 1941 'Alfred the Great', built by H.C. Powell in Crewe locomotive Works 1955 for the late V. Hewitt with copper fire-tube boiler with scale back head fittings including water gauge, twin injector, whistle, blower, steam brake, safety, clack and blowdown valves. Footplate details include adjustable opening fire door, lockable reversing lever, glazed windows, damper and other control levers and other details. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with inside joy valve gear, detailed big ends and fluted coupling rods, cab-controlled cylinder drains, displacement and mechanical lubricators, oil boxes and pipe work to all bearings, two injectors, whistles, riveting and fine pipework, steam operated brake gear, working sanding gear, steps, hand and lamp irons and much other fine detailing. Tender details include hand operated brake gear, draw bar check chains and buffers, tank level gauge, pick-up scoop, tool boxes, fine rivet detail, fall plate, steps, hand and lamp irons, the whole finished in LNWR 'blackberry' black with correct red, straw and grey lining, engraved and wax-filled name plates and cast number plates, mounted on a display track and ballast. Four rows radiant stain-less steel super heater expansion joints connected to cylinder steam entry. The cab with removable hard wood flooring, cylinder drain cocks operated from cab, oil feed hydrostatic cylinder lubrication via needle valve, sight glasses to all four cylinders via oil feed tank situated below cab floor. Hydro mechanical oil lubrication actuated from the regulator to inside valve gear and axillary moving parts via cam operated oil feed header module supplied by cylindrical lubrication oil feed tank with outside filler cap situated within the frames.The chassis with twin outside and twin inside cylinders having associated valve gear, stainless steel connecting rods, two live steam water feed injectors, leaf springs to driving wheels, vacuum brakes to locomotive and tender, vacuum reservoirs fitted to engine and tender with fitted train pipe. Axillary mechanical vacuum pump fitted between frames, vacuum limit valve and cylinder relief valves to all cylinders, The six-wheel tender with fitted vacuum brakes, water tank, fitted tool boxes and working coal door. Removable foot rests fitted to tender chassis and drivers padded seat.The model finished in Great Western Railways green passenger lined livery with detailed rivet-work, polished bright-work, fitted steps, hand-irons and lamp irons with lamps.Length 266cm. The chassis having twin inside cylinders with Stephenson’s valve gear, ratchet oiler system. The boiler lagged with simulated wooden planking having brass boiler bands. A six-wheel tender with unusual and rare ‘twin-simple’ piston driven cylinders fitted to the underside of the tender. A rare exhibition quality 7 ¼ inch gauge model of a H15 Class London South Western Railway 4-6-0 tender locomotive No 486, built to the original design by Robert Urie with copper boiler with cab fittings including regulator, water sight-glass, pressure gauge, direction control wheel, firebox door, lever operated cylinder drain cocks and many other fittings, safety valve, clack and whistle. The chassis with twin outside cylinders, Walschaert's valve gear and fluted motion. The eight-wheel double bogie tender with coal compartment, water tank covers and coupling. The model finished in traditional green and black lines livery with L S W R to tender side and No 486 to cab-side, fitted steps, handrails, couplings and detailed rivet-work. Overall length 252cm. Cab width 35cm.The model is sold together with a floor display stand.* The original full-size locomotive was designed by Robert Urie and built at the Eastleigh Works Circa 1914 with a total of 10 being built at Eastleigh having Schmidt super-heaters.
