A late 19th century railway type wall clock, the restored Roman numeral dial signed 'Joyce Whitchurch L&NW Ry Co' and numbered 3204, the back of the dial bearing the name 'John Walker', with single fusee movement, in mahogany case, the case with mounted enamel station number '3204' to the front, 41cm diam It is believed that the dial was restored many years ago with the lettering traced over the original lettering. The case has been overhauled and later varnished. It has been suggested that 3204 may relate to Boxmoor Station CONDITION REPORT: It is believed that the dial was restored many years ago with the current lettering traced over the original lettering. The white is very crisp and the surface of the dial is flat. The handles are not original and the movement has been cleaned and overhauled. The case has been restored with a later varnish and later hinges to the side door. Sold as an attractive decorative clock only.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany eight day longcase clock, with silvered Roman numeral chapter ring below a silent / chime selector, with movement striking on seven gongs (possibly ex-8), 214cm H CONDITION REPORT: The clock has all three brass weights and the pendulum will be delivered with the vendor on the auction day. The trunk door is open but the hood door is not. The vendor is hoping to find the key in readiness for the auction day. The material hangings behind the ventilation panels of the hood have perished. Case with light wear but overall ok. We can not guarantee that the clock is in full working order.
