1986 Mercedes-Benz GE280Registration no. D575 UNTChassis no. WDB46023227048265Odometer Reading: 96,000MoT Expiry: TBA*Short-wheelbase model*Some history, comes with driver's handbook and maintenance booklet*Seldom offered in this conditionOriginally destined for military applications the G-wagen soon found a strong international customer base when it was released to the public, albeit in less spartan form. The classic market has warmly embraced this ultra-usable four-wheel drive, which looks just at home on a plush suburban street as it would on an out-of-the-way countryside fishing trip. Bonhams is pleased to offer this 1986 short wheelbase 280, which is said to have very good bodywork, paint, glass and wheels. The legendary Mercdes-Benz panel fit is apparent, as is quality of the mid-blue metallic paint. Wheelarch extensions lack the knocks and damage afflicting many G-wagens, giving this example an impressive air. The seats, dashboard and door cards are ranked as very good, seat facings showing no rips, tears or fading, while the headlining is ranked as very good. Our vendor reports the engine as excellent for running and very good for starting, while mechanical components are said to be very good. Running gear is reported to be very good and the brakes as excellent. A good opportunity to acquire a well-presented short-wheelbase G-wagen which comes with some history.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 84/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. WPOZZZ9ZZBS41096Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: TBA*Rare S with Manual Gearbox. *Stored for several years*Much history until being storedThe 928 offered a complete break from the then-Porsche ethos and many wondered whether a front-engined, water-cooled V8 would have any success. It did, and subtly updated was in production for almost two decades. This long term-stored 1981 model has vendor-assessed good bodywork and good paint, along with a good interior, with the seats said to be excellent. Engine starting and running but the car will require some light recommissioning . There is much pre-storage history. A rare car indeed being a S variant with a manual gearbox. 1989 Volvo 480 Turbo CoupéRegistration no. EIG 1012Chassis no. XLBEX063EKC541173Odometer Reading: 56,250MoT Expiry: 29/06/2021 *Rare manual gearbox model – one of a believed 12 survivors*Just 56,250 miles from new*Said to be running and driving 'beautifully' The Volvo 480 was a rare beast when new and even moreso today, and especially so in Turbo form. Drawing its inspiration from the early 1970s P1800ES, the 480 was a smaller sporting coupé built up to a quality and not down to a price. This 1989 model has had just three previous owners, the first two being father and son, spending all its life (until recently) in Ireland. It was laid up from 2013 until the end of 2019, the vendor says. Described as solid and original the typically solid Volvo bodywork is said to be very good, the paint, trim and wheels/tyres as good. The interior has original seats and trim, the seats reported as being very good and the remainder as good. The turbo-charged engine is vendor-assessed as being very good for starting and running and the car is said to drive beautifully. Running gear is assessed to be very good: new rear brake calipers and flexi-pipes have been fitted. A rare opportunity to buy one of Volvo's much-forgotten but blisteringly quick Turbo compact coupés, and one with traceable history and a recent service. One of just 12 believed to be left on the roads this is a fantastic opportunity to buy a low mileage, manual turbo example. 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray T-Top TargaRegistration no. LYX 330KChassis no. 1237W2S503615Odometer Reading: 67,058MoT Expiry: 24/5/21 *Much history*£16,000 restoration – bills on file*Featured in Motor Sport June 1976 issuePowered by a 454 cubic inch (7.2-litre) 'big block' V8 early 1970s Corvettes maintained the big-is-best arms race that began in the early-1960s. Just a couple of years after this car was built emissions controls strangled even the largest engines, so in many ways this Corvette and its siblings represent the end of an era. Offered here is an unmistakably yellow example whose body and paintwork present well, as do the trim and wheels/tyres. The brown interior is in good condition with some wear to the trim, centre console and the steering wheel, while the door cards and seat facings present well. Handbook and tools are included, along with t-top envelopes and armrest covers. If there's no substitute for cubic inches this 454 Corvette T-Top is the answer. It comes with good history including bills for more than£16,000 spent on restoration work. Also includes invoices and MoTs since 1975 confirming the original low mileage.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 93/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
