A 19th century bracket clock, by Lewis of Chichester, with domed mahogany and satinwood veneered case, fruitwood inlaid with foliate decoration, cast gilt pine cone finials, pierced fretwork sides and back, the hinged glazed front door, with key, opening to reveal the silvered chapter ring dial with engraved black Roman numerals, floral motif half-hour markers, outside minute band with Arabic five-minutes markers, set around a matte gold centre, appended silvered maker's plaque, and surrounded by applied gilt foliate decoration to the spandrels and the arch, two subsidiary dials to the arch for Chime/Silent and Chime of Eight Bells/Chime on Four Gongs, 8-day fusee movement chiming the hours, the half-hours, and the quarter-hours on a eight bells with a musical chime or on four gongs with a Westminster chime, on brass ogee bracket feet with concealed threaded height / level adjusters, dial 12.5cm (5"), case 18.5 by 26.5 by 41.5cm high.Notes: in good working condition, winds and hands set well, keeps time across 1hr test, all chiming functions seem to work well, however Batemans cannot guarantee its continued operation.
An early 20th century French 'Le Taxiphote stéréo classeur' stereoscopic viewer by Jules Richard, the mahogany case having hinged lid and lower hinged door opening to reveal a slide storage area with trays, two adjustable levers to either side of eye-pieces for focus, changing lever for the re-loading cartridge and handles to either side, with various attached labels including instructions in English, to include approx 20 slides (some in glass and some loose) comprising topographical views, London landmarks and animals, together with some unused glass slides, the trays within the storage area stamped J. RICHARD CONSTRUCTEUR PARIS, h.48cm, base dimensions 28 x 28cmCondition report: Mechanism works.Bead to top is present.Bead to rear window is missing.Two glass slides are cracked.Case generally good with some scuffs and age wear etc.

LEITZ WETZLAR NO.6640 to the stage, with adjustable dial and reflecting mirror below, approx h.28cm; the locking walnut case fitted with velvet pads to the base and two slide-out compartments to the top containing lenses and objectives, the interior door bearing label for CLARKSON'S OPTICAL STORES 338 HIGH HOLBORN LONDON, with steel handle to the top and fully functioning locking mechanism with key; together with a box of spares and accessories to include Leitz, Beck, Watson and other lenses and objectives, slides, mirrors, and a volume of Gerard L'E Turner's Collecting Microscopes etcCondition report: Case is too large and not original to this microscope.
John Lee of London - an early 19th century mahogany longcase clock, having a signed arched brass 12" dial, with silvered strike/silent dial to the arch, silvered chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial, matted centre, date aperture, twin winding holes for a brass eight-day four-pillar weight driven movement striking on a bell, the case having marquetry inlaid arched panelled door to a boxbase, h.198cmCondition report: Eight day movement.No pendulum, but should work with a pendulum as appears otherwise complete.With brass cased weights.Movement and dial all belong.Movement tarnished.All appears untouched for a long time.Glass broken.Dial fits head perfectly, so probably all original.Some traces of inactive woodworm to hood.Case unpolished but otherwise good, no splits.
William Kipling of London - an early 18th century walnut and floral marquetry inlaid longcase clock, having a square brass 12" dial, with cast brass cherub spandrels holding aloft a crown, signed to the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, having silvered subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, matted centre, twin ringed winding holes for a brass eight-day four-pillar weight driven movement striking on a bell, the case with all-over floral marquetry and figural inlays, h.217cmCondition report: With brass cased weights, pendulum and door key.Case generally good with some shrinkage splits but veneers 99% complete.Large chip above boxbase and further repair to opposite corner.The whole dial appears cleaned back.Movement appears all original and untouched for a long time.Gut wire frayed but not broken.Hands and chapter ring repainted.Cheeks have been built up.Seatboard probably an old replacement.Case free from woodworm.Consigned from a deceased estate in Sussex, no service history.
