An early 20th century oak longcase clock, the brass face with silvered dial set with Roman and Arabic numerals with subsidiary dial and retailer's plaque for Prestons Ltd Bolton, raised on plain oak case with carved beading to the door, with inscription plaque to the interior 'The Lancashire & Cheshire Tramways Authorities Council presented to Mr John Barnard MBE, by members of this council on this occasion of his silver wedding celebration as a token of their high appreciation of his able and devoted services as honorary secretary of this council since its formation in January 1926', with pendulum and weight, height 213cm.Additional InformationGeneral wear throughout, complete with pendulum, key and weight, the dial is slightly rubbed in parts.
An early 19th century mahogany eight day longcase clock, the painted dial indistinctly signed and named for Liverpool, with Roman numerals and each corner painted with a figure of a maiden emblematic of the seasons, below a moon phase dial, with movement striking on a bell, the case with turned corner pilasters, height 240cm.Additional InformationNot tested, no guarantee of working order. The case is lacking bracket feet, later hinges to the door and there is damage to the case where the hinges meet the right hand side of the case. Other cracks to the veneer throughout, some losses, general scuffs and scrapes commensurate with age and use. Case would benefit from some TLC. The dial is grubby with some general scratches, some cracking and wear to the named detailing.
A George III mahogany and satinwood inlaid cylinder bureau, the interior with four short drawers and twenty-four part alphabetised pigeon holes above pull out writing surface, the lower section with two doors each enclosing two short drawers with brass swan neck handles and further door to left side, on tapered square section supports to brass caps and castors, with further door to left side, height 110cm, width 122cm, depth 82cm.Additional InformationThe front with prominent and numerous splits, further splits and chips to veneer throughout including to top and right side. As stated some of the alpabetising to the pigeon holes has been lost, some further chips and losses to interiors. Writing surface heavily worn. Further veneer losses, old repairs, chips, scuffs, scrapes and wear and tear commensurate with age and use throughout. Overall would benefit from attention and restoration. The door to left side bowed and does not sit flush in the recess. A replaced section of moulding including to the left side.
