A rare early 19th century mahogany tavern clock by Israel Smyth of Woodbridge, Suffolk. The case has cushion foot and scroll detail to the sides. The wooden dial has painted Roman and Arabic numerals, brass 'pierced heart' hands, with counter-balanced minute hand. Set into a turned mahogany surround with glass door and brass lock inset to the bezel. Eight-day, single train movement, driven by square lead weight. Six pillars to back and front A-plates. Anti-clockwise winding mechanism. Height: 90cm. Dial diameter: 40cm.
