A JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD HARDWOOD AND SHIBYAMA CABINET, of rectangular form, with an arrangement of two asymmetrical shelves above a pair of panelled doors, the right hand side panel worked in relief with two quail, both with gilded lacquer blossom and bamboo, circular pressed metal escutcheon, enclosing a series of six short and one full width drawer, each having a cloisonné type quatrefoil pulls, simply gilded with blossoms and bamboo, the inner door panels conforming, overall with bamboo, 84cm wide x 41cm deep x 108cm high. A 19TH CENTURY INLAID MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK by James Park, Kilmacolm, having a moulded flat-topped hood with arched glazed door in geometric banding, the cockbeaded trunk door with central foliate paterae in geometric banding and quadrant corners, the trunk with banding and foliate frieze, the base with conche shell paterae and conforming banding, raised on a plinth, the arch of the dial painted with a ploughing scene, the chapter ring with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, two subsidiary dials, two winding apertures and the makers name, all in figural depictions of the seasons, sold with two weights and pendulum. 205cm(h) Condition Reports: Repairs to inlay and veneer, the dial fully re-painted with makers location misspelt (Kilmalcom should be Kilmacolm) viewing advised.
