Benson, Ludgate Hill, 11124, London, with a cast brass bezel, the mahogany case with a shaped top to the long trunk door, and a panelled chisel foot base, height 126cm. *Biography - J.W. Benson were in business from 1844 until 1973 and are recorded as working at 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London with a retail outlet at West End House, 25 Old Bond Street. An advert of theirs in the Illustrated London News of the 13th of December 1884 shows a printed view of their 'Steam Room' and 'Mezanine'. They traded as J.W. Benson from 1856 until 1891 and then as a limited company.

George Margetts, London, a mahogany longcase clock: the eight-day duration, five-pillar movement striking the hours on a bell, the twelve-inch silvered break-arch dial engraved with black Roman numerals, Arabic five-minute outer numerals, decoration to the four corners and a basket of flowers to the arch, the dial centre with subsidiary dials for seconds and date and signed for the maker Geo. Margetts, London, having a mahogany case, the base with a raised panel and double plinth, the trunk having fluted pillars with brass stops to the lower third and a break-arch moulding to the door, the hood with brass Corinthian capitals to the fluted pillars, with the break-arch top having brass ball-and-spire finials to the sides and a brass eagle finial to the centre, height: 222cm, not including finial. * Biography - George Margetts was a well-known maker being free of the Clockmakers Company in 1779 and a Liveryman from 1799 until 1808.
By Edwards & Roberts - An Edwardian mahogany and marquetry bow-fronted standing corner display cabinet:, banded in satinwood, bordered with boxwood and ebonised lines, decorated throughout with neo-classical urns, ribbon tied drapery garlands, anthemions and scrolling foliage, the upper part with a swan neck broken pediment and moulded dentil cornice, having a plush lined interior enclosed by a glazed panel door, with open section below, the lower part fitted with a central drawer and enclosed by a pair of panel doors below, between pendant husk decorated stiles, on square tapered legs, 83cm (2ft 8 3/4in) across, 218cm (7ft 1 3/4in) high.
