‘Bird’, A selection of re-made Arts and Crafts curtains by Morris & Co., designed by William Morris in 1878, woven woollen hand loom jacquard in shades of blue with pink head to birds (some fading and sun bleaching to some edges), comprising: a door curtain, 331cm x 177cm; three curtains, 197cm x 120cm; a short curtain, 81cm x 110cm; two pelmets and a quantity of off-cuts, the largest 120cm x 130cm, See Parry, Linda ‘William Morris Textiles’ New York 1994, p. 152. The 12 inch (30.5 cm) square brass face having a silvered chapter ring signed Rob Bulbrook, of Lewsham and Sam Simcocks Deptford, encircling a matted centre with silvered seconds dial, ring-turned calendar aperture and winding holes. The corners embellished with spandrels. The tall case having mahogany cross-banding to the shaped trunk door. 86 ins (220 cm) in height, 20 ins (51 cm) wide and 10 ins (25 cm) deep.
A Fine 18th Century Burr Elm Bacon Settle of good colour and patination. The tall cupboard back enclosed by panelled doors and surmounted by an upper twin door compartment. The pad end arms on turned posts and spindled sides. The long single plank seat above two base drawers, 75 ins (191 cms) high, 60 ins (152 cms) wide, 26 ins (66 cms) deep.
A Late 18th Century Italianate Carved, Painted and Gilded Tabernacle. The glazed cabinet having an arched door and side panels, surmounted by a caddy top with gilded finials. The break-front corners adorned with Corinthian columns. 25½ ins (90 cms) tall, 20 ins (51 cms) wide and 13½ ins (34 cms) deep.
A Splendid 17th Century Spanish Walnut & Iron Mounted Vargueno on Chest. The fall front with pierced mounts and large lock concealing an interior fitted with ten variously sized drawers with arcaded chip carved & gilded fronts with twisted bone column supports, centred by a door opening to reveal four further small drawers. The chest having large scallop shell form lopers above two deep drawers and two corresponding doors decorated with bone inlaid quatrefoils and repeated diamond motifs on a blue & red ground highlighted with gilding. Standing on bun feet 62¾ ins (159.5 cms) in height, 45½ ins (116 cms) wide, 17 ins (43 cms) deep.
A Fine 18th Century Walnut Marquetry Spice Cabinet. The door inlaid with a starburst and interlaced straps composed of various specimen veneers. The interior having eight variously sized and crossbanded drawers with gilded drop handles. Raised on bun feet 16½ ins (42 cms) in height, 15½ ins (39.5 cms) in width, 8½ ins (22 cms) in depth.
