A late 18th century tavern or "Act of Parliament" clock, the plain painted dial with both Arabic and Roman numerals and the ebonised case typically decorated with a gilt chinoiserie panel to the front door depicting figures before a building and elsewhere with a stylized leaves and other detail. A written inscription inside the door indicates that the movement was restored in 1991 by A. W. Porter and Son and the case restored by Cicely Dewe (dial c. 63 cms dia. and overall height c.150 cms)
A most unusual domed Clock of small dimensions having polished brass/gilt finished case with reeded elevations and having five turned finials, the engine turned brass face with matted centre decorated with stylised flowers and foliage and marked "W.
