Willem Blaeu (1571-1638), 'Afbeeldinge vande vermaerde seehaven ende stadt van Duynkercken met der omliggende plaetsen sandem ende droochten afgeteeckent door Capiteijn pieter Codde van Enchuysen' [Dunkirk, France], engraved map, hand-coloured, Latin text verso, 45.5cm x 70cm, framed and glazed.
A late 19th century Chinese hardwood stepped display cabinet with pierced and relief scrolling foliate carving with one drawer and one hinged door cupboard, with dragooned plinth to stylised ball and claw feet, width 82cm. CONDITION REPORT: Some general surface scratches, very thin sliver section missing to moulding at the top right corner.
A good 19th century mahogany microscope slide cabinet, the rectangular moulded top with recessed brass carrying handle above glazed door enclosing twenty one numbered and titled drawers above a larger deeper base drawer to plinth base, slides including insects, botanical studies, geological examples, minerals, etc, height 41cm.
An early 20th century French Duverdrey & Bloquel oval double brass carriage clock and barometer with circular white enamel dials, the clock set with Arabic numerals with glass to sides and top, one glass from the door missing, stamped with lion mark, height 13cm. CONDITION REPORT: Not in working order. Glass missing to one door, heavily tarnished. Two chips to corner of glass. Top glass pieces are loose. We are unable to post clocks.
LUIGI PASQUALE (1822-1894); an important late 19th century Italian cylinder bureau, the castellated superstructure inlaid with a knight within a tent above a finely detailed door inlaid with the monument erected at Sagliano and inscribed 'Sulle ceneri degli eroi si eleva la grandezza delle nazioni' flanked by mirrored backs, side inlaid panels and exquisite inlaid roll top with two cornucopia full of shields and various fighting implements and a suit of armour and enclosing a slide and satin birch fitted interior with frieze drawer similarly inlaid, raised on ring turned tapering legs to peg feet, bearing Luigi Pasquale original paper label to the reverse. The piece is also signed by Pasquale in the inlaid detail and also inscribed 'Ricordo sagliano 1880 Pietro Micca', width 87cm, height 167cm, depth 59cm.Pietro Micca was a hero of the city of Turin when in 1706 he sacrificed his own life for the good of the city in blowing up a tunnel with French soldiers about to attack. The quality of the inlay throughout is exceptional. Featured in 'Storie Di Minusiere Biellesi E Di Cadregat Di Cossila' page 180-183 with full detail of the cabinet and illustrations relating to it.Luigi Pasquale was the vendor's great, great grandfather and this lot has been in the family since its creation in 1880.

A George III oak longcase clock, with caddy top hood, ball and spike finials, and brass 30cm square arched dial having Royal crest to arch, and applied spandrels, the silvered chapter ring signed Geoff Devis London, with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary second ring and date aperture, revealing an eight day movement striking on a bell, with full length trunk door and moulded base, 240cm overall.
