An Arts & Crafts green stained ash bedroom suite circa 1900 by Shapland & Petter, comprising reverse breakfront wardrobe with flared cornice, canted corners, Art Nouveau style copper panels, hammered strap hinges and escutcheons, central mirrored door above lower drawer, the interior with generous hanging space, dressing table with swing mirror supported on back with tapered columns with flared terminals, worked copper panels, and heart shaped cut outs and with two suspended drawers, above three drawer base, washstand in similar vein, locks on wardrobe and dressing table stamped 'S&P B', wardrobe dimensions: width 205cm, depth 67cm & height 213cm, dressing table: width 122cm, depth 55cm & height 165cm. Condition - generally good, things to note on the wardrobe include exterior loss to green staining, drawer pull missing, scratch on left section, other scuffs and marks, shaped frieze split on left, central door stiff, with two keys, later rail added to right and later lining added throughout, dressing table with split to top left, repair to back, front castor loose, scuffs, marks and scratches, washing stand lacking top and previous alterations which have been removed but there's still signs of these with screw holes, nails etc. three of the flared feet have also been chopped at sides.
A Welsh eight day oak long case clock, the painted dial signed Watkin Owen Llanrwst, dial width 33cm & height 233cm.Condition: a few minor old repairs to case, finials appear to be replacements, pillars re painted, full restoration carried out August 2002, weights, chains, pendulum, door key all present, no winding key, clock in working order although wont be sold with any guarantees.
