Daimler Jaguar You wont be alone in mistaking it for a Mk 2 Jaguar given that the body is almost identical to the Jaguar. The big difference was under the bonnet where you will find the highly regarded 2.5 V8 engine. With its distinctive “Growl” and a number of refinements such as the walnut veneer on the dash boardThe Mark 2 had been branded as the first family saloon car capable of exceeding 100mph . Daimler were aware that the popular success of the Mk 2 with an expanding client base, might compromise the Jaguar brand, but Daimler were confident that there was a market for an upgraded version which was to be powered by the new and much admired V8 engine, giving it a more comfortable ride. It became the car of choice for many aspiring members of the "professional “ middle classes. This car was built in 1966 and has automatic transmission and power steering which comes in handy when you want to park or do a U3 point turn. It has a genuine miles ( There is sufficient paper evidence to support that figure. ) Interestingly the 3 previous owners all lived in the same Yorkshire village. It is all original inside and out.
