Bruce Talbert (1838-1881), a fine oak and glazed standing corner cabinet, probably by Gillow & Co., 181cm high, 73cm wide, 55cm deep. A 17th Century Italian Painted Cupboard of small proportions, the moulded edge top & cornice above a single fielded panel drawer flanked by shaped protrusions. The cupboard door enclosing a single shelf interior and fronted by a central ringed knop handle above shaped corner brackets adjoining the block feet. 29 ins (74 cms) in height, 27 ins (69 cms) in width, 12 ins (30 cms) in depth.
A 17th Century Oak Spindle Wall Cupboard. The door having a ventilated panel of four turned baluster spindles above a carved panel of arabesque strap-work, hanging on iron H-form hinges and opening to reveal two slim shelves. The moulded top with rounded corners above a single door with stepped edge moulding and a wavy-topped central panel with a decorative pierced brass escutcheon. A 16th Century Oak Livery Cupboard Section, circa 1500-1510. The central door having a square panel carved with a griffin upon a barrel and the ownership initials W.L, bordered by a scrolling cartouche. The flanking `barbers pole` panels carved with floral diamonds. 20 ins (51 cms) high. Mounted on a modern wooden stand 46 ins (117 cms) high inclusive, 40 ins (112 cms) wide, 19 ins (48 cms) deep.
A Rare Double-sided Westmorland Joined Oak Court Cupboard believed to have been taken from a cottage in the Lake District village of Kirby Stephen where it had been built into the wall and served as a room divide. The `parlour` side having a moulded cornice above a frieze of carved S-scrolls centred by marriage initials GB and date 1723, with turned pendant finials overhanging either side. The recessed upper cupboard with horizontal fielded panel doors flanking a vertical fielded centre panel. The base section housing three drawers with applied edge moulding above two large panelled doors flanking a panelled centre. The plainer `kitchen` side having an offset door accessing the upper cupboard above two drawers and a panelled facade composed of ten panels set in two rows of five within a groove-moulded framework, 74 ins (188 cms) high, 67 ins (170 cms) wide, 27½ ins (70 cms) deep.
A 17th Century Oak & Ash Chest on Stand. The break-front top with a beaded edge above a bulge front frieze drawer with central mirrored panel [worn]. The upper section having two short drawers applied with raised fielded panels flanking an open sliding compartment carved with a perspective interior concealing the secret recessed door behind. The lower section having three graduated long drawers inlaid with linked lunette stringing forming geometric patterns and studded with pewter roundels; each drawer divided by split turned beading. The stand boldly carved with a foliate twin-scroll apron, raised on six barley-twist legs joined by grove moulded stretchers 59 ins (150 cms) in height, 41 ins x 22 ins (105 cms x 56 cms).
An Antique Continental Carved Oak Wall Cupboard. The deeply moulded cornice above a single door ornately carved with an intricate Gothic style tracery arch flanked by triple arched panels opening to reveal an interior shelf. The lock having a spring loaded mechanism and a stylised iron lock plate. Standing on a moulded edge base enriched with punchwork arches. 31 ins (79 cms) in height, 31 ins (78 cms) wide, 13½ ins (34 cms) in depth.
A Rare 16th Century Oak Buffet. The planked top having an applied moulded edge above a cupboard door ornamented with scrolling iron hinges and centred by a raised horizontal diamond moulding. A 17th Century Oak Credence Table-Cupboard of canted form. The hinged folding top opening out to form a hexagonal supported by a swing gate. The front having a rectangular cupboard door with a raised diamond centred by an elongated oval appliqué and similarly decorated panels on the canted sides, divided by split turned spindles. The large baluster legs adjoining a lower shelf raised on block feet. 31 ins (79 cms) in height, 36 ins (92 cms) in width, 19 ins (49 cms) in depth.
A Fine 17th Century Inlaid Oak Chest/Cupboard Circa 1670. The upper drawer and twin door cupboard below having fine cushion front mouldings inlaid with intricate scrolling flowers in mother of pearl and pen-worked bone, with pairs of turned spindle appliqués to the pilasters. The whole raised on squat bun feet, 36½ ins (92 cms) high, 41 ins (105 cms) wide, 20 ins (51 cms) deep.
