The piece splits into four pieces - cornice, base, two door and one door sections. Locks and keys present, slight damage around closing area on double door section (top right corner of central door). Some additional marks and indentation to areas of the top. All mounts are present. Key is present to operate locks. Some old losses to the pietra dura are disguised by careful black painting to the vacant areas. There is a crack to the central door panel decorated with pietra dura. A Victorian ash and birch breakfront wardrobe, circa 1870, in the manner of Holland & Sons, the central mirror panel door opening to a hanging rail, flanked on each side by a door opening to sliding trays, 218cm high, 227cm wide (235cm wide incl. cornice), 66cm deep.Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits. Some old chips and small losses to veneers. The left hand door opens to reveal only five sliding trays where there should be eleven. The right hand door opens to reveal only two sliding trays where there should be eleven. Two handles with some losses. No key present, all locks are open. Old screw holes to interior of the centre section from previous fixtures. Section of moulding adjacent to one upper corner of the central door with split and small section of loss. A Queen Anne walnut and feather banded cabinet on chest, circa 1710, the pair of cupboard doors opening to an arrangement of drawers and a central small cupboard opening to four further small drawers, 167cm high, 115cm wide, 52cm deepFor a related cabinet with comparable interior arrangement see, Christie's, London, 23rd November 2006, Important English Furniture and Carpets, Lot 111 (£24,000). Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits and some minor old repairs. some small losses. Some areas of lifting and splitting to veneers. Various old veneer repairs. The most noticeable replacements are shaped sections to the doors. Some of these may be original, some of various age. The door lock is a likely mid 18th century replacement. The key is present to operate it. door hinges are probably 18th century replacements. Some hinges have later screws. The key to the interior door may be original and there is a key to operate it. The escutcheons and handles of the drawers are replacements faithful to the period style and use the same holes as the originals. One drawer lock of the lower chest section is lacking. One other to the bottom drawer has been replaced with a timber fillet. Some fading but generally good colour . The front is more faded than the remainder. There are vertical splits to the doors that have been disguised by slender fillets of timber and some staining/ coloured varnish. The feet are possibly original or very old replacements. They are faithful to period style and are positioned in the original holes in the base of the carcass. The handles to the interior drawers are likely replacements in period style. Evidence of old worm damage (holes) and some fragmentary loss in some areas as expected for age. This is mainly visible to the top. The rear panels appear original. Lot 78

A George I walnut and feather banded bureau bookcase, circa 1720, the shaped mirror panel doors opening to an adjustable shelf above an arrangement of short drawers and pigeon holes, the lower section with a hinged fall opening to a tooled leather inset writing surface, a well section with sliding cover and an arrangement of pigeon holes and short drawers, 208cm high, 102cm wide, 58cm deepCondition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits and some minor old repairs. some small losses including a short section of moulding from the top front edge of the bureau section . The appearance would be possible to improve relatively easily be an experienced and qualified restorer.Some later screws to hinges, leather inset to interior is later. The escutcheons and handles are replacements (largely 18th century) and there are plugged holes from previous alternate/ original positioning of handles. The locks of the two short drawers of the bureau section have been neatly filled with timber fillets and disguised by filler. The remaining long drawers beneath have later 18th century locks. The key is present to the later 18th century lock of the cabinet doors but keys are lacking to all other locks. The key escutcheon to the cabinet door has been cut down slightly to fit. There is an unusual 'secret' compartment to the interior of the well section concealing three small removable drawer type compartments. The handle to the slide of the well section is lacking. Some evidence of later varnish. Some fading to colour. This is more noticeable to the left side overall from sun fading. One small 'arch' element to the pigeon holes of the interior of the bureau is lacking, one is detached but present. The feet are later replacements. The original holes for the turned bun feet are visible to the interior floor of the carcass. The interior of the cabinet section is well fitted and this appears original. The handles to the interior of the cabinet and the interior of the bureau section are good quality but are of later 18th or 19th century date. The mirror plates of the doors are likely original but we cannot guarantee this. The plates bear the expected depletion (see images)Evidence of old worm damage (holes) in some areas as expected for age. A Louis XVI-style inlaid, parquetry and mahogany marble top commode, French c.1900, after Jean-Henri Riesener, modelled from the Concordant Commode at the Palais de Fontainebleau, the shaped and veined white marble top over three frieze drawers and shaped and panelled doors, the front of bowed, breakfront form, the sides flared, the drawers and frieze with ornate gilt bronze mounts, the doors inlaid with a central panel of an ewer and a basket of fruit on a specimen wood ground, flanked by panels with stylised flower heads, the sides conforming, within boldly cast gilt bronze mounts,166cm wide64cm deep94cm highCondition report: Minor chips to edges of marble, mainly the back edge. Repaired split to both side panel. Smaller door with wear to hinge edge. Faded.it looks as though it has been through a restorers workshop at some point in its life, both panels have been repaired and there are areas of the veneers damaged internally (see photos) other small areas of repair, evidence of glue between the backboards and expansion within the joints of the carcass. Gilt metal worn extensively and unevenly slightly pitted to the surface, split to the front right-hand door that is also visible from the inside.One key. It could easily go straight into a grand house.

Generally in need of attention. Dial is 11 1/2 inches (29cm approx)

A group of English medieval church/priory architectural stonework and tile fragments, some pieces with inscribed labels of provenance, including two fragments of figures supposedly from the lowest row of niches of Wells Cathedral, Somerset, four sections of stonework from Merton Priory, Surrey (destroyed in 1538) from excavations from 1898-1929, a section of a door jamb from the cloisters of Glastonbury Abbey, a section from the reredos of Lady St Mary church, Wareham, Dorset, and a section of the reredos of Cuthbert Church, Wells, Somerset with traces of red paint Provenance - A. T. Arber-CookeCONDITION: Provenance - Alfred Theodore Arber-Cooke (c.1905-1993); thence by family descent. Arber-Cooke was an antiquarian and avid collector of Antiquities and Asian works of art, principally collecting from the 1930s to the 1970s. He initially lived in Wimbledon, Greater London and was involved with local archaeological digs undertaken by the Surrey Archaeological Society. He wrote the book 'Old Wimbledon', with a foreword the MP Sir Arthur Fell, published in 1927. He later moved to Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, Wales, again involved with local archaeology and wrote the History of Llandovery, published in 1975. The inscribed labels in this lot were probably produced in the 1940s-50s.

Week's Museum. A Regency gilt brass and mahogany drum case mantel timepiece, with urn final, enamel dial and sweeping second hand, swept squared base and lion's paw feet, chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and adjustable pendulum, height 12.5in.CONDITION: Looks to be in very good relatively recently restored condition with all the gilt work in good order, dial with signs of very light crazing particularly between 6 and 8 o'clock so perhaps has seen some retouching or restoration, numerals look good and clean, again probably restored, woodwork definitely re-polished. Movement looks complete but not tested for timekeeping, comes with the original pendulum, back has a lower brass door to allow access to the pendulum, feet have adjustable pads at the back.

An early 20th century red tortoiseshell veneered mantel timepiece, with paste set bezel and ormolu mounts, eight day movement striking on a bell, height 8in.CONDITION: Ormolu mounts have now been rubbed down to a dull finish, cracking in the tortoiseshell to the front of the case around the dial, one paste missing from the bezel at 9 o'clock, dirt specking to the dial, veneers coming away at the front left bottom corner, grille of the back door slightly pushed inwards with cracking and rubbing to the back of the case, movement complete but not tested for timekeeping.

Lot 304

Richard Keyte of Wittney. An early 18th century walnut eight day longcase clock, with moulded cornice, barley twist framed door and 10 inch square brass dial signed and engraved with foliate scrolls, later anchor escapement movement, slender trunk and bracket feet, W.1ft 5.5in. H.6ft 6.5in.CONDITION: Overall of good rich mid to dark walnut tone, separating slightly at the joints around the pediment, no key to the door but it did once have a mechanism that was released from the inside, movement complete but not tested for timekeeping, comes with a brass faced pendulum and two cast iron weights, some small separation around the moulding around the trunk door, similarly so around the mouldings around the box base where there is some scuffing and denting commensurate with age.

H.6ft 1in.CONDITION: Cornice has had an additional panel laid over the top, minor dents and knocks, the dentil work may be later, centred with a plaque monogrammed SFL, upper doors with original lock and working key, silk in good condition, fitted with three adjustable shelves, the fall with original lock but no key, interior with later gilt black skiver, minor chipping to the ring turned bone knob handles, central door has original lock and working key, minor scuffing around the base but overall good condition.

Lot 348

A Victorian figured walnut and marquetry side cabinet, with inlaid frieze and two panelled doors flanked by serpentine glazed doors, on plinth foot, W.6ft 6in. D.1ft 5in. H.3ft 6in.CONDITION: Overall in good condition with a good rich dark toffee brown colour, faded somewhat lighter to the front of the doors but not bleached, ormolu mounts look to have the original gilding although now a little rubbed from polishing, central door has the original lock and working key, enclosing two original velvet lined fixed shelves, ormolu mount to the left side central door has sprung a little loose, glazed doors enclosed three fixed shelves which were once claret velvet but have now faded to brown, slight scuffing where the doors rub against the top of the plinth but overall good condition.

Lot 349

A pair of 19th century French ormolu mounted walnut pier cabinets, inset with pietra dura and porcelain plaques, the inverse breakfronts with pietra dura floral plaques set to the frieze and the panelled doors inset with Sevres style porcelain plaques decorated with a nobleman and woman, W.2ft 11in. D.1ft 4in. H.3ft 7in.CONDITION: Both look to have been restored in the past 10 or 20 years and now showing some signs of use, cabinet with the lady to the front has very slight bowing at the top and some short cracks running in the veneer at the top, escutcheon plate is wobbly, comes with key but it does not fully work the lock, one section of foliate ormolu banding is loose from the left side of the door, signs of old restorations to the brass stringing around the door, scuffing where the door rubs against the plinth, cabinet with man to the door, overall similar condition but all ormolu attached, some scuffing and discolouration in the varnish around the lower portion of the door, overall both in fair to good condition.

Lot 352

A 19th century French ormolu mounted, walnut and marquetry Meuble d'appoint, with purple and red veined marble top and single door with central inlaid urn and scrolls, on plinth foot, W.2ft 11in. D.1ft 5in. H.3ft 3.5in.CONDITION: Marble top is certainly later but remains in good order, overall colour is of a mid gingerish brown tone with some faded areas, one or two small retouched dents and knocks around the frieze, a vertical split has been repaired down the right side of the panel of the door but still shows as a different colour, key has working lock, two adjustable shelves to the interior, small damages and scuffing around the plinth.

Lot 362

A late 19th century French Louis XV style ormolu kingwood work table, inset with Sevres style porcelain plaques, the lid rising to reveal a mirror inset to the door and tray to the compartment, W.1ft 8in. D.1ft 2.5in. H.2ft 3in.CONDITION: Overall looks to be in good honest condition, top is slightly faded, the front and sides with a much richer colour, ormolu mounts with a slightly matted finish, porcelain plaques are in good order and are applied all around the piece. Mirror inside looks like a later addition with a silvered wood frame, tray to the interior looks original, no key for lock.

Lot 368

An Edwardian satinwood banded mahogany games/drinks table, with twin flap swivelling top concealing compartment containing three slice and hobnail cut glass decanters and eight slice cut and etched glasses, frieze drawer fitted with compartment for card games, chess and dominoes, chess board slide and cribbage board slide, on squared tapered legs, fitted ceramic castors, width 76cm, depth 46cm, height 74cmCONDITION: Overall of even reddish brown mahogany tone, some light surface scuffing and wear to the top, baize watermarked with some holes, top swivels to reveal a compartment containing three decanters, the other side has a hinged door and holds eight well matched but associated glasses, and a recess for an ice bucket which is missing as is the key to the lock, frieze drawer has key but does not appear to work the lock, top of drawer is stamped with a registration number 514989, has one lidded compartment with chess pieces, bone and ebony dominoes and sundry card games, cribbage board slides out completely as does the chess board which is backed with baize, both in good order, legs with a fair amount of scuffing and front left leg has been broken and repaired, castors worn from use.

An Edwardian rosewood banded mahogany serpentine dwarf bookcase, with brass gallery and central door painted with a woman representing Sapphos, flanked by astragal glazed doors on square tapered legs with spade feet, W.5ft 1.5in. D.1ft 6in. H.3ft 3in.CONDITION: Overall in fair to good condition, the plum pudding mahogany of good rich colour, top with a number of small scattered dents and cracks running in from both sides, central door with a broad craquelure running through the painted panel, comes with a key but appears to be locked shut, key does work the side doors which have adjustable shelves, minor scuffing around the apron and feet.

Lot 418

A 19th century Russian tempera on wood triptych icon, c.1800 with floral and bird carved crest, the central panel depicting the Boy Jesus in the Temple with Mary and Joseph flanked by panels of saints, 25.5 x 16.5in. opens to 23.75in.CONDITION: Some chipping and wear around the outsides with flaking of the blue paint around the arch at the top but overall largely complete, a slightly dully dirty finish throughout, left hand door has a broken top hinge, main panel has a short crack to the right of 6 o'clock, right hand door wobbly but does hold in place, some scuffing and cracking to the sides, old worm holes to the back.
