Lot 1128
A George III mahogany longcase clock by Barber Winster, with dentil cornice above the glazed door enclosing the 13 inch square brass dial with date aperture and thirty hour movement inscribed "J. Barber, Winster"", the case with long trunk door and quarter column corners. Height 207 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock case requires some resotration. Approximately 12 cm of the dentil moulding to the cornice is missing. Both rear pillars are missing the bottom block. The clock is not a marraige. We have the weight and pendulum. When weight is applied to the movement the clock ticks and advances. Approximately 50% of the dentil work below the hood is missing. The trunk door is not warped. It has the original lock, escutcheon and hinges. The sides of the case are in good condition. The joins to the corners of the base are a little sprung and there is a stress fracture to the front panel. The bottom base moulding is an old but later replacement. The backboards are original. The left hand return moulding just above the top of the door is missing. The case is generally a good colour but does require some restoration as stated. Please note that whilst this lot is not a marriage in terms of the dial and case. The 30 hour movement is not original to the dial itself.

A George III oak slide front box, with shield shaped motif to centre. Height 42 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally good condition. There is a small repair to the bottom right hand corner of the sliding door. The colour is generally good. There are no losses and no significant cracks or splits.
Lot 1167
A George III oak longcase clock by E. Foster Carlisle, with thirty hour movement, long trunk door and 12 inch square dial with date aperture, also inscribed "John & Mary Foster". Height 203 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Whilst we have not had the clock running as the pendulum is missing the metal suspension, when weight is applied to the going train the clock does tick. When the hands are advanced the date wheel does advance. It is difficult to tell whether the movement and case have always been together. The seat board is old however the clock cheeks are both different heights and have short sections of timber between the top of the cheek and the seat board. The mask around the dial fits reasonably well. The right hand return to the cornice has a loss to the rear right hand corner. Both pilasters are loose and there is some loss to the plaster work at top and bottom. The glazed door is in good condition and not warped. The sides of the hood are in good order. The main trunk door is not warped. The sides of the trunk are in good condition. The base has a stress fracture to the right hand side. Both sides are slightly sprung. The plinth moulding whilst old is probably a later addition. We have a weight and the pendulum.
Lot 1281
A Queen Anne walnut cabinet, the top half with drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing a secretaire, the base fitted with two short and two long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and raised on bun feet. Width 115 cm, depth 51.5 cm, height 173 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is in generally very good condition. It has clearly been through a workshop in recent times. The top right hand corner of the cornice has had a repair. Other sections of moulding to the cornice have been either replaced or reattached. There is a small veneer repair to the lock escutcheon. The left hand side top crossbanded section has had some repair. The right hand side similarly has some crossbanding veneer repairs. The doors meet as they should and the lock operates. There are some veneer repairs to both doors and around the lock escutcheon. There are veneer repairs to the crossbanding on the edge of the left hand door and to both door interiors. The dividers of the upper pigeonhole are all a little misaligned and warped but are in generally good condition. The handles to the drawers are later replacements and there are repairs behind each handle. Both doors are very slightly warped but not to the point of being problematic. There is a veneer loss around the lock escutcheon to the centre interior door and a stress fracture down the centre. The slide has old stains and watermarks to the cloth surface. The knob handles to the slide are later replacements. The moulded edge to the base is in generally good order but has had some sections refitted and there is a repair to the top side at the right hand rear return. The handles are later replacements. There are traces of several sets of handles visible behind and around the backplates. There are also very small dowel repairs to the left and right hand side of each drawer where original drop handles will probably have been. There are some minor veneer repairs to the drawer fronts particularly around the lock escutcheons. The right hand return base moulding is loose. The right hand front ball foot is loose. The turned ball feet are probably later as one would probably expect.
Lot 1116
A Victorian satin walnut wardrobe, with detachable moulded cornice above a centre mirrored door flanked to the left by a further panelled door opening to trays and drawers and to the right hand side by a further panelled door opening to hanging space and all raised on a plinth base. Width 167 cm, height 195 cm, depth 64 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Generally extremely good condition. Cornice in good order. Sides not split. Doors not warped and closing correctly. All interior trays and drawers present. Original brass drop handles. Mirror original and in good order. Bottom edges of the doors have the usual veneer nibbles. Plinth base has usual scuffs and marks and minor veneer losses.

An Edwardian inlaid rosewood purdonium, with three quarter gallery, two open shelves and fall front coal receiver, the whole raised on turned legs with castors. Width 40 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally in good condition. Some minor scuffs and dirty in the reveals. There are some minor crossbanded veneer losses to the top left and right returns. The door operates as it should. There is no liner. The sides are in good condition. All legs are intact and original. There is a small crossbanded veneer loss to the right hand side edge of the middle shelf.

A French brass carriage clock, with lion trademark and marked "Benjamin Harral, Barnsley". Height excluding carrying handle 11 cm, 774 grams. CONDITION REPORT: The movement is ticking away as it should. The face is in good condition. The case is in good order generally. The front glass panel, right hand panel and rear door are in good condition. The left hand panel has a chip top the bottom edge where the bevelled glass meets the top of the plinth. We have the key.
Lot 1600
A George III mahogany square washstand, with fold over top, rear slide, cupboard door and drawer. Width 39 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This piece whilst original is fairly tired. Restoration will be needed to the cross banding on the mirror frame. The sliding mechanism does operate. Hinges are original. The top closes as it should. Both sides have front to back splits. Both handles are present. The back has a left to right split. The door is marked around the handle as is the upright. The legs are structurally solid as is the low shelf. It is a little tired.
Lot 1391
A Georgian oak dresser with Delft rack, the base fitted with a series of drawers and cupboards with brass handles and all raised on stile feet. Width 212 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good condition. A good colour. No issues with the door or drawer fronts of any note. Brass handles later but go through the original holes. Structurally very sound, backboards original.
Lot 1545
A George III mahogany bowfronted chest of drawers, with crossbanded and boxwood strung edge above four long graduated drawers with brass drop handles, oval backplates, cockbeading and boxwood stringing to each drawer front, shaped apron and raised on splayed bracket feet. Width 98 cm. CONDITION REPORT: : Generally good condition. There are minor losses to the veneer on the back edge. There is a small rectangular patch to the cross banding to the left and right hand top corners. There is a 3cm section of box wood stringing missing from the top left corner. There are minor nibbles to the veneers at the front edge but are insignificant. Sides are in generally good condition. All drawer fronts are in good order with no losses to the cop beading. Door 2 has a veneer patch bottom left hand corner. There are slight nibbles to the veneers around the drawer runners. There is a repair above the lock on the runner to drawers 3 & 4. The bracket feet are original and in good order. The handles if not original go through the original holes.
Lot 1085
An oak postal box, octagonal. Height 35 cm. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This post box is in generally very good condition. There is one small dent and loss to the oak to the right hand side of the door hinge at the next angle. This is visible on our image. Other than this there are no issues at all. The post box has no significant age and may only be a few years old.
Lot 1182
A Victorian mahogany wardrobe, with detachable cornice above three drawers enclosing trays, shelves and hanging space and raised on a plinth base. Width 95 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cornice is in good condition all round. The colour is generally good. The right hand side is in good condition. The left hand panel has been cut from front to back just below the middle hinge. All interior trays and drawers are present. The hinges have some missing and some later screws. The doors are not warped. They shut as they should. The right hand door has a small piece of edge moulding at the top missing. There are some minor stress fractures to the veneers. The plinth is a little scuffed but in generally good condition with no serious issues. The wardrobe is structurally very sound.
Lot 1099
A Victorian walnut slope front stationery cabinet, hinging to a fitted interior and with base drawer. Width 38 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is in generally reasonable condition. The right hand door has a slight warp. It does not quite meet in the middle and there is a milometer gap at the top back when the door is shut. The veneered front is in good condition. The front drawer and front panel are a little scuffed in places as you can probably see. The sides and back are in good condition with no splits. The base is a little scuffed in places. The interior is in generally good condition. All dividers are present. The inkwells are missing. The peg that locates the frieze drawer is present. All metalwork is original.
Lot 1408
An early 19th century mahogany longcase clock by William Coulie of Marykirk, with circular dial and two-train movement, the case being boxwood and ebony strung and with reeded quarter column corners. Height including finial 224 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The dial is in very good order generally. There is an old scuff to the right of the 31 date number on the subsidiary dial. There is a small loss to the paintwork around the left hand winding aperture. The dial has not been repainted however the numerals and minute markers etc. have been professionally repainted at some point probably within the last 20-30 years. We have the pendulum and two weights. The movement is currently ticking away. It is striking when advanced. The seatboard is clearly old and original. The clock is not a marriage. The hood is in very good condition. The brass bezel and hinge are original. The trunk door is not warped. There is a small veneer repair to the trunk just to the left of the top corner of the door. The sides of the case are in very good condition with no cracks. The base is in very good order also. There is a small repair to the bottom front hand section of the right hand front leg. All other legs are in good order. The case is structurally sound. The backboards are original. There is no evidence of any woodworm.
Lot 1244
A Victorian walnut marquetry pier cabinet, with glazed door enclosing velvet lined shelves flanked by flat pilasters with ormolu mounts and raised on a plinth base. Width 80 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Height 108 cm, width 80 cm, depth 32.5 cm. The top and cornice are in very good condition. The marquetry frieze is in good order also. The door is not warped. The pilasters are in good condition. There is one very small loss to the bottom right hand corner of the plinth base which should be visible on our image. We have the key and the lock works. The plush velvet lining is in good condition. The backboards are original. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
Lot 1253
A William IV mahogany sideboard, with rear upstand and fitted with a series of drawers and four panelled cupboard doors and all raised on a plinth base. Width 200 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The sideboard has not been varnished and is not anywhere near as shiny as the photograph would suggest. It has a good finish and overall very good colour. The rear pediment is in good order. The top has no splits and only old minor marks and old surface scratches that one would expect. The moulded edge is in good condition. The sides are in good order with no splits. The centre drawer is in generally good condition but is a little sticky on the runners. The right and left hand upright mouldings to the drawer extremities are missing as is a small piece of beading to the bottom right hand corner. The right hand drawer has a small 1.5 cm section of beading missing on the bottom edge. There are further losses to the same beading on the left and right of the drawer itself. The left hand drawer is in good condition. The left hand cupboard is in good order and is not warped. We do not have the key for the lock. The right hand door is in similarly good condition with no warping. We do not have the keys for any of the doors. The centre left hand door is in good order with no warping. The right hand door is a little warped. If the door was fully closed it would be proud at the bottom by approximately ½ cm or so. The plinth base is scuffed and marked as one would expect. At the rear on the right hand side there is a timber loss and on the left hand side front edge there is a similar section missing. Being at floor level these losses are not very visible.
Lot 1345
A George III mahogany serpentine fronted side cabinet, with single drawer above a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing shelves and raised on ogee bracket feet. Width 109 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There is one internal shelf which does lift out. Depth of shelf at deepest point 18 ins, depth at shallowest point 15.5 ins, width of shelf at narrowest point 35.5 ins, widest point 36.5 ins. The top is flat and of generally good colour. There are some minor marks, scratches and old stress fractures but no losses. The front right hand corner edge moulding has had breaks which have been well repaired. There is a small repair to the rear left hand edge moulding and a small veneer repair to the top in the same place. The drawer front is in generally good condition. There have been several sets of handles. The current handles cover the majority of the handle holes but there is another one visible to the left and right of the respective handles. There is a cock beading repair around the lock plate on the top edge. The drawer lining is in good condition. The door fronts are not warped. They meet correctly in the centre. There are some minor nibbles to the veneers around the extremities but no significant issues. The front bracket feet have had some repair. They are however structurally very sound. The repairs are effective and only visible on close inspection. The serpentine bottom edge moulding is a little nibbled to the edge. The backboards are original. There is a veneer repair to the right hand side of the top drawer which should be visible on our image. The sides of the cabinet are in good order with no splits. The cabinet looks to have been fairly recently waxed and is generally well presented.

A George III inlaid mahogany hanging corner cupboard, with broken triangular pediment with ball finial between, with glazed door enclosing shelves, flanked by canted angles and with moulding beneath. Width 80 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good condition with no significant issues. Door not warped. No splits or cracks, backboards original.
Lot 1374
A George III inlaid mahogany bowfronted hanging corner cupboard, fitted with spice drawers and series of painted shelves. Width 71 cm. CONDITION REPORT: : Losses to inlaid shelves to top frieze. Doors not warped. Small loss to centre moulding strip of door by handle, slightly lifting veneers in places, backboards and interior original.

A George III oak longcase clock, by Fiske, Portsmouth, with eight day striking movement. Height including finial 235 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement is ticking away. We have the weights and pendulum. The movement strikes when advanced. The dial is in generally good order with some minor scuffs and scratches. There is some fading to the cartouche around the name and to the minute markers. The seat board is original. We do not think that the piece is a marriage. The hood is in generally good condition with no significant losses or cracks. The door shuts as it should. The trunk door is not warped. The sides of the clock are in good condition. The base is in generally good order. The bottom plinth is likely to be later. The back boards are original.
Lot 1264
An Arts & Crafts oak side cabinet, with open shelf and cupboard with metal plaque stamped "Everything In Its Place". Width 51 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Structurally this piece of furniture is in good order. It is solid with no loose joints and no evidence of any woodworm. It is however a little tired. The top surface is marked and the polish not particularly good. It may at some point have been repolished. The moulded edge is a little dented and rough and scuffed in places. The shelf has old watermarks. The sides of the piece are in generally good condition as is the low shelf. The door is not warped. The metal plaque is however showing surface rust and the original paintwork is perishing. There is a plaque to the back of the cabinet but we cannot read the inscription. It does however begin with the capital letter B.
Lot 1194
A late Victorian mahogany low breakfront bookcase, with centre glazed door enclosing shelves flanked on either side by open shelves and raised on a plinth base. Width 218 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Depth at centre 43 cm, depth at sides 34.5 cm, height 123 cm, length 218 cm. Apart from some minor surface scuffs and scratches as one would expect, this lot is in generally very good condition with no significant issues. It is structurally sound. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The piece has not been re-polished. The door is not warped. The lock is present but we have no key. The backboards are original.

A George III oak longcase clock, with thirty hour movement, by Monkhouse of Carlisle. Height 221 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Hood in good condition generally. Glazed door not warped and has its original glass. The top metal dowel holding the hinge is missing. Trunk door is not warped. The sides of the case and base are in generally good condition. The bottom base moulding is a later replacement. We have the weight and pendulum. When weight is applied to the movement it ticks. The backboards are original. The clock is not a marriage.
Lot 598
A part 19th century wool winder, a cast iron winding wheel, diameter 31 cm, and Victorian door curtain rail. CONDITION REPORT: The wheel with handle is in good structural condition. It has lost approximately 50% of its original black paint but there are no structural issues. The brass door closer appears to be all present. Approximately 70% of the original finish is present. The wooden part wool winder is probably only partially complete. We are not sure what is missing and the condition is not generally particularly good with cracks, losses and stains to the timberwork.

A 19th century oak and mahogany banded longcase clock, with painted dial and thirty hour movement, the case with quarter column corners and raised on bracket feet. Height 228 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good condition with no significant issues. There are no major splits or losses. The door is not warped. The hood is a little dirty. We have a weight but no pendulum. The seat board is original. As are the back boards.

A George III and later ebonised bracket clock, with two-train fusee movement striking on a bell. Height excluding carrying handle 37.5 cm, width 28.75 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is in generally extremely good condition. It is ticking away and striking as it should. The movement winds on both trains. The case is in generally very good order with no significant condition issues. The front door is not warped. All of the metalwork is present and in generally good condition. The feet have lost much of their original lacquered finish as have the flat sections to the caddy top. The dial is in generally good order. The hour hand is missing its tip. We have a key and the brass pendulum retainer is present.

CONDITION REPORT: Top flat and in good order, no splits. One ring mark to front right hand corner. Sides in good condition, no splits. Drawer fronts good condition, no losses to cockbeading. Handles are probably original. Doors not warped. Colour good. Door handles later replacements. Lock escutcheon and lock missing. Bottom moulding has minor scuffs and marks as to the bracket feet. Backboards original. Two interior trays (one missing ?).
