An early 19th Century mahogany cased long case clock, the eight day movement with brass arch dial, the chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial and inscribed "Robert Orford London" CONDITION REPORTS Door to case is warped and is currently either jammed or locked and does not appear to be a key, there is a key for the glazed door, case overall with wear, scuffs, warping, chips and losses to veneers, some old woodworm holes, some losses to moulding, pilasters appear to have had some alteration or perhaps later additions, some losses, alterations and replacement sections to decoration to top of case, top glazed section is very stiff/difficult to remove, weights very scuffed and scratched, central finial has become detached and all brass finials very dented.
French chinoiserie garniture de cheminee, late 19th century, the clock and pair of vases of silvered pottery ground painted with figures on patinated spelter mounts, Roman dial, eight day movement by Japy striking the half on a coil, overall height 41cm (ticks, winds, strikes; conforming numbers to case, movement and pendulum). *See clocks and watches proviso. Condition Report: Back door is missing; the gong may not be the original; the general condition is good, the doesn`t seem to be any significant damage or deterioration beyond what has been mentioned or can be seen in the photographs.
An early 20th century slate mantle clock, the shaped pediment over three brass columns to each side, the glazed face door opening to reveal cream chapter dial with Roman numerals, two winder holes, raised on a plinth base, fitted with a plaque inscribed and dated '1921'. The plaque bears the name of the recipient who worked for the Midland Railway in Derby, prior to receiving the clock as a gift.

Nieuw Engeland in Twee Scheeptogten door Kapitein Johan Smith inde Iaren 1614 en 1615 Bestevend . This interesting map covering Rhode Island to Penobscot Bay in Maine uses cartography and names from John Smith`s report of the area in 1614-15. It features a large Lacus Irocoisiensis with several large islands. The map is filled with many place names, both Indian and early colonial settlements. The Cape Ann peninsula is oddly shaped and named Tragabigzanda, the name given by John Smith in honor of a Greek maiden who was kind to him while he was held captive by Turks. Nantucket is named Natocke and Martha`s Vineyard bears the name of Elizabeths Eyl. The delicately colored pictorial title cartouche depicts Captain John Smith trading with the natives, while his crew greet a mermaid in the background. This map was published in van der Aa`s compilation of early voyages of exploration. Excellent impression and color with one small worm hole in left blank margin. 9.1"" W x 6.1"" H . The large title cartouche depicts native slaves mining for gold under the direction of Spaniards. The map was designed to illustrate the expedition of Hernan Cortes (here called Ferdinand Cortes), a Spanish Conquistador who conquered Mexico circa 1520 and caused the fall of the Aztec Empire. This map of Nicaragua, Honduras and Costa Rica illustrates the explorations of Spanish Conquistador Gil Gonzalez Davila. Gonzalez was the first European to explore Nicaragua, and discovered the lakes Nicaragua and Managua. The decorative title cartouche features a native couple and a wild boar with two ships and a volcano in the background. The map is surrounded by an elegantly engraved picture-frame style border, printed from a separate copperplate. Fine impression and color on watermarked paper with wide margins. 13.3"" W x 8.6"" H .
