The painted dial is crazed. The subsidiary seconds dial hand is missing and there is paint damage in the arch at the right hand and left hand side See illustration The clock comes with pendulum and weights. The clock is currently not running, and is dirty. Movement is dirty. The case requires re-polishing and the trunk door is warped.
A longcase clock, the 28 cm square brass dial, having Roman numerals, signed Taylor Bridgnorth 606, fitted a 30 hour movement striking on a bell, in an extensively carved oak case, 207 cm high See illustration Condition report Report by RB Very much in a market fresh condition, the matt centre has some sort of gilt looking paint to it, the silvered dial is with awful varnish which makes it look brass and the spandrels have been painted to match the centre. The movement is slightly loose on its (later) seat board. The case, no glass to the hood door, carving all Victorian, the whole of the backboard has been replaced at some point, modern trunk door lock, hinges weak. Overall now requiring some work, with key, pendulum and single weight.
A longcase clock, the 30 cm square arched dial, having Roman and Arabic numerals, date aperture and tablet signed John Mends Plymouth, fitted an eight day movement striking on a bell, in a mahogany and oak case, 226 cm high (over swan neck pediment) See illustration Condition report Report by RB The dial and case possibly an association, the hood door with quite a few splits and cracks, a short trunk door, with numerous parts of the cross-banding missing, part of the feet has been rebuilt, with a pendulum and two lead weights.
