A George III Mahogany Bureau Bookcase, late 18th century, the fret carved swan neck pediment above astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the fall front enclosing a fitted interior with eight oak-lined small drawers, eight pigeon holes and a central cupboard door flanked by blind fret carved secret compartments, with two short and three long oak-lined drawers below with original brasses, on bracket feet110cm by 55cm by 243cmBrasses replaced. Some previous handle marks visible on the drawer fronts. The moulded cornice is probably later. The left-hand side panels with some deep scratches. The right-hand side with some general scuffs. The doors to the upper section close properly and are nice and straight. The fall front has some deep scratches - the interior is of good quality. The inside of the fall has some ink stains. Numerous scuffs etc.
