Two 20th Century wooden Chinese asian jewellery boxes. One having doors to front opening to reveal three drawers with red padded material to the interior; also having decorative brass mounts and inlaid carved stone door panels. Together with a lidded box having brass clasp to front and inlaid mother of pearl oriental dragon design, with cushioned red interior. Largest measuring approximately 18cm x 15cm x 10.5cm.
A Louis XVI rosewood secrétaire à abattant, c.1780, French, with a rectangular marble top, above the fall-front enclosing a fitted interior, with two cupboard doors and raised on tapering turned supports, with damages,92cm wide37cm deep143cm highCondition ReportOne door is missing its hinges - it sits loosely in the frame but comes off when opened. No historic signs of woodworm. Chips and nibbles to the marble top. Losses to the veneer. In need of attention. The key is present. Mould to the interior compartments. The brass escutcheon is missing its top screw. No lifting to the leather but it is heavily stained and worn - the original green colour is heavily faded. Please see the additional images.
A pitch pine housekeeper cupboard, early 20th century, with a shaped back panel, with four doors, to a plinth base, 185cm wide 48cm deep 100cm high Condition ReportWith knocks and wear throughout. Losses to the right side of the top. Slit to the front of the top to the right side. Historic flight holes. Splits to the wood on the top, sides and back. The lock has been removed from the left door, the left doors with splits to the inside where the lock has been sawn off. The right doors with lock complete but without key. both doors with modern magnets to keep them held closed. Watermarks and residue to the top and interior. Historic repairs.
