English ebonised bracket clock by Jonathan Lowndes, London with eight day striking movement with a caddy top and a 6.75 inch dial with cherub spandrels, a signed silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring `J.Lowndes, London`, with mock pendulum and calendar aperture, ring turned winding holes, and strike/not strike lever, with twin fusee movement with verge escapement, the back plate engraved with foliate scrolls signed `Jona Lowndes, London`, the case with small hole to right side, possibly for a pull repeat cord, with label to inside back door `Percy Webster, Vendor, 37 Gt Portland St`, and the remains of an old paper label to the glazed back door detailing the clock. 39cm handle up, the case stamped 9784
A Japanese wood and lacquer jewellery box in the form of a house, circa 1920's, the exterior giving the appearance of a traditional home with front door with metal clasp and rice paper screen windows, the roof lifting off and dissembling to become two graduated lacquer trays and a small box (lacking cover), revealing a recessed compartment and allowing the front of the house to open up, exposing an interior of shelves holding four miniature boxes and covers of different sizes, individually decorated, above two sliding panels in the base which can be removed to reveal two further boxes hidden within, all raised on neat bracket feet, 18.5cm high (at fault)
