A Victorian walnut collector's cabinet, containing three drawers, enclosed by panelled doors34w x 22d x 42h cmOverall complete and usable. Doors open ok, but one has been broken where the hinged meet and glued and screwed back together. Drawers run ok, although some dividers are missing inside. Generally slightly scruffy as unrestored, with various surface marks and dirt. Right door does not close completely flat. Some losses to veneers, most noticably around the plinth base. No key.

Only Fools & Horses - Trotter Door - autographed Trotter Van rear door, signed by sixteen members of cast, including Sir David Jason. The door being an exact lifesize replica of a Reliant Regal Supervan III ' Trotter Van '. Yellow, with full Trotters Independent Trading livery in black, and a clear window to the top. Custom made. Signed in black ink by Jason, adding his famous catchphrase ' Lovely Jubbly! ' Jason has only ever signed a handful of these, and they exist in very limited numbers. Other autographs include; Tessa Peake Jones (Raquel), Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra), Denis Lill (Alan Parry), Christopher Ryan & Roy Marsden (Driscoll Brothers), Nick Stringer (Jumbo Mills) and others. The door comes 'as new' with a deliberately dirty paint scheme, and hanging fitments to the rear for easy wall mounting. Difficult to find such an item signed by as many cast members. With certificate from the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society. A must-have piece of memorabilia for any Only Fools fan. 83cm x 93cm.
AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE INLAID IRON MINIATURE KODANSU (CABINET) WITH TURTLES AND CRANESJapan, Meiji period (1868-1912)Superbly decorated in gold and silver takazogan and hirazogan, the hinged door and short sides with 'floating' turtles framed by a stream and aquatic plants below and thin clouds above, the cover with two cranes flying in the sky as well as the setting sun and further clouds, the cover with a fitted gilt silver handle and the door with a silver knop, opening to reveal three silver drawers with iron front panels with silver-mounted handles and inlaid in the same manner as the exterior with turtles and carved with water currents, the interior of the door with a gold plate engraved with a man surrounded by ducks in a barren forest.SIZE 9.6 x 9.3 x 6.4 cmWEIGHT 851.5 gCondition: Very good condition with minor wear and casting irregularities.Provenance: French private collection.While miniature kodansu (display cabinets) were commonly made during the Meiji period, the most popular examples crafted from lacquer, inlaid ivory, or damascened iron, no comparable examples in sparsely inlaid iron are recorded in private or public collections, making this exceptionally well-crafted piece extremely rare.
