Wing by door returning to State room` 22" wide (see illustration) Provenance - originally from Nuneham House and thence by descent
Cheshire Lines Committee 14 inch mahogany cased fusee clock. The original dial shows C.L.C. 72 G.Eccles & Son Liverpool but beneath this can be seen the original suppliers name W.McFerran Victoria St Manchester. The large chain driven fusee movement has "A" frame plates that measure 7½" x 6". Has been stripped and cleaned and the slave pinion has been removed but comes with the clock, the movement is attached to the dial via a false plate . The original mahogany case is in nicely polished condition and retains the original McFerrin bottom door catch. A rare clock that dates from the inception of the CLC and one of the lowest numbers to appear at auction, the vendor states that this clock was located at Partington Station booking office and drove a slave dial on the Platform side. Partington station was opened on 29th May 1983 and no doubt that this clock dates from then. The station closed on 30th November 1964.
North Eastern Railway 12" Oak cased Fusee Clock BR(NE) 4667. The LNER clock records record this clock as being located at Hull Yard Manager Priory West Box, Dairycoates. A nice clock with a chain driven fusee movement in ex railway condition, complete with pendulum but no key however it appears to be in working condition, the bottom door of the case is missing.
