Loss to veneer top right hand side, light surface scratches to doors, stains and marks inside. Gaps in the doors where the panels have shrunk. Brass coat hook screwed to the side and a loving spoon screwed to top left hand door.

A wooden triptych with recessed central panel and two folding doors; the central panel with crucifixion scene with robed Mary and John the Evangelist, another apostle and Mary Magdalen, two crucified thieves to the rear and the angels depicted collecting the blood of God in cups; underneath the Crucifixion scene Virgin Mary and the Child escorted by armed Saint Gabriel and Saint Michael, prophets to the sides; the left door with nude Adam and Eve reaching up to the Resurrection of Christ, beneath them three prophets; the right door with two saints (upper panel) and three prophets; left and right bottom panels with Saint George (Bet Giorgis) and military Saint Victor on horseback; Ethiopian Ge'ez script legends. Acquired on the London art market, 2003.UK private collection. The icon shows the Western influence on Ethiopian art. The first element is the orb which the Child holds in his left hand and the second element is the pose of his right hand. The orb appeared in Ethiopian paintings around 1500 A.D. Moreover, his hand shows two fingers outstretched, the index and middle finger, and the two last fingers folded.

George III mahogany banjo barometer, swan neck pediment, silvered charts, signed D Gugeri, Boston, 105cm.Condition report:There are some small chipped parts to the wood on the frame of the thermometer door. There is no hand to the top dial. There is general rubbing and marking to the edges, the dials are a little age tarnishing. Please see the added photos online.
A 19th Century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, the 12" painted arch dial with Classical maiden with a camel to the arch and seashell spandrels, signed 'Deacon, Barton', with date aperture, 8-day movement striking a bell, the long trunk door with pointed arched top, inlaid with Britannia, the base inlaid with Fleur de lys feathers, overall height 223cm.Condition report:There are two weights and the pendulum with the clock. 8-day, not 30 hour. There are many places around the edges where the veneer is missing. The dial shows paint cracks and some flaking in places. There is chipping and wear to the wood on the keyhole area of the front door. The frame of the hood door is cracked in places around the outside. Some historic worm activity to the back boards but none that appears active. The clock is untested. This is a 19th century clock.

CONDITION REPORT: The vehicle has been in a collision which has damaged both doors on the near (passenger) side. There are other minor bodywork imperfections to the rear bumper, driver's door handle, etc. Amber EPC warning light showing. Also Start/Stop System error message showing on display panel. The door to base with chips to keyhole and with small piece of wood and strip of rubber glued to the inside of the top of the door. Each side of the case with back edge having cut notch with screw inserted. The sides of the case with discolouration, scratches and paint marks, and the side door with split, knocks, and scratches. The reverse of the dial with paint marks, gouges, and four drilled holes. The reverse with paint marks and scratches. There are no numbers, markings, or plaques to reverse. Tarnishing and scratches to bezel. Minor scratches to glass and very minor black paint flecks.Some wear and damage to pegs and one is replaced.Dial: Some Craquelure to paint throughout and minor rubbing to outer minute track and numerals and signature. Some discolouration around hands and scratches around winding holes. There is discolouration around the edge of the dial and some marks and scratches, particularly to the screw between VII and VIII.Movement: Some tarnishing and scratches to backplate. The winder is associated. Missing key for case. Pendulum with scratches and some tarnishing. This is a timepiece movement. Roseberys cannot guarantee the working order.
A George III inlaid mahogany longcase clock, late 18th century, the elaborate broken swan neck pediment with urn finials above gilt scrolling foliate painted glass frieze dated 1787, having reeded Corinthian columns with brass capitals, the trunk with satinwood paterae above moulded Gothic style door flanked by cluster columns, on crossbanded plinth with corresponding columns on ogee bracket feet, the arched painted dial signed SAML COLLIER ECCLES, with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial at twelve, date aperture to centre and rolling moon phase dial to arch, the dial centre painted with a shepherd and his lover, the eight day movement striking a bell, with pendulum and weights, 256cm highProvenance: Property from the estate of the late David Cornwell, best-known as the author John le Carré.Please note that Roseberys do not guarantee the working order or time keeping of any timepiece.Condition Report: Case: With wear consistent with age and use, to include knocks, scratches, splits and wear. Right side of hood has restored vertical splits, the left side with general scratching and restored patch to moulding. Chips and splits to seat board and some nails to case under seat board. Door with splits to veneer and with wooden block glued to frame behind door on lower left and splits to top right. The dental frieze underneath the hood with one missing tooth to the left side and one missing to right side. Trunk with minor discolouration to both sides, splits and warping to right side and minor chips to edges, lifting and minor chip to veneer above door. Door does not sit fully flush and with split to the right of the lower hinge. Plinth base with knocks to moulding, splits and warping to front and minor discolouration to sides. Left moulding has been re-glued as has one of the feet. The other feet with some wear. Backboard to case with holes, large cracks repaired with strip of cloth, and with replaced board to top and bottom sections. Dial: Craquelure and minor losses to paint. Chips to paint to dial edges. Minor rubbing to numerals. Some surface scratching. Tarnishing and bending to hands.Movement: Some scratches to backplate. Pendulum guide slightly bent. Tarnishing and bending to pendulum.
