A George III oak dresser, having a three tier plate rack above a base with four central doors flanked by a pair of arched panel doors, on stile legs, 178 cm wide See inside back cover colour illustration Condition report Report by GH Plate rack generally very wobbly and falling apart, with the central rear board off but present. Moulding to top of plate rack missing on both ends. Top of dresser base split, dented, warped and stained. Two rectangular holes on each side at the back suggests that the plate rack is either a modification or is not original to the dresser base. Two of the brass handles on the drawers are missing and all the others appear to be an assortment of non original handles. Both door catches on the cupboards are later additions. None of the drawers open very well and some of the runners appear to have gone, resulting in the drawers being very wonky. Many signs of old woodworm, but seemingly no live woodworm. Generally very worn, split, dented, gouged, well used and showing its age. Presents very honestly in saleroom fresh condition.
