The Original Door Knocker from Galway Gaol[Mayo's Flying Column], A heavy cast iron door Knocker modelled as a hand grabbing a wreath with lions mounted by Kerricks & Son on a mahogany frame, by tradition reputed to have been removed as a memento from Galway Goal whilst being released from detention by Brian Corrigan, of Owenduff, Achill, West Mayo, with associated documentation, as a collection. A 19th century French marble topped brass mounted bonheur de jourThe brass three quarter galleried marble inset top above a central cupboard door decorated with a courting couple, both panels signed, flanked by twin bevelled mirror plates and reeded columns, over the cylindrical fall decorated with a classical figural vignette, enclosing a baize lined sliding writing surface, drawers and pigeon holes, above a frieze drawer, standing on gadrooned turned tapering legs. 151 cm high; 81 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Some wear to finish of brassware, some scuffing and scratching, some veneers splits/losses to side of writing surface, some brassware loose, some small section to brassware lacking, some wear/paint loss to front of fall, general wear.

An American gilt metal and champleve enamelled four glass mantel clock The white dial with Roman numerals and exposed escapement, the gong striking barrel movement signed Ansonia New York and with faux mercury pendulum. 33 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally good condition, expected wear, case could do with a clean, rear glass panel with crack to corner, some rubbing to gilding, one side panel with some movement, rear door not quite flush.

An early 19th century French style mahogany serpentine two drawer side cabinet. Crossbanded in satinwood, with cock beading and oak drawer linings. Having tambour effect carved door fronts, with marquetry feather patera, reeded canted corners and raised on scroll feet with ormolu mounts, 1m 15cm wide, 56cm deep, 85cm high. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Split to the right side. Keys and door handles lacking. Some small veneer loss.
A good, mahogany cased, early 20 th century English fusee 12-inch dial clock, signed to the cream painted dial GR and crown emblem (the clock was used in Chester County Offices and has a label stating District Registry attached), cast brass bezel, movement has serial number 4801 and is marked by FW Elliott Ltd., 1938, the case is also stamped for GR (VI), FW Elliott and 1938, with pendulum and key - CONDITION REPORT The clock appears in good original condition. The stained and polished mahogany dial surround is held to the backbox with four matching wooden pegs. The backbox has an age related split to the rear and has a stamped GR VI and crown mark together with the makers mark F.W.Elliott Ltd. And date 1938. There is an aged, yellowed paper label pasted onto the top stating District Registry. Access door for the movement to the right hand side of the backbox has a brass swivel tab to keep closed. Steel hanging plate to the top and brass steady plates to each side. Cream painted dial is laid out with black Roman numerals within a complete minute band and has the monogram GR VI and crown symbol to the centre. There is no significant loss to the black lettering or numerals. The cream background has rings where the dial feet meet, minor circular rubbing possibly from the hour hand. Only minor paint loss around the winding aperture. Matched blued steel spade and poker hands retained by a brass cup washer and bent nail (in place of taper pin). Cast brass glazed bezel, black painted with silvered sight ring. Brass plate movement with grained finish, spring driven with chain fusee, stamped to the centre middle of the back plate serial number 4801, Made By F.W.Elliott Ltd, England and 1938. Brass rod pendulum with lead filled brass bob, missing the suspension spring. - Est £300 - £500
