Age: Meiji period Description: The rich kinji ground decorated with a continuous view of a garden, gated fence and carriages, lacquered in silver and gold takamaki-e with profuse highlights of mura-nashiji and kirikane, the hinged doors opening to reveal within four drawers decorated with a waterside view and an extensive sky above with flocks of birds, applied with silvered-metal mounts chased with scrolling foliage, unsigned; Size: Height 9 3/4 inches 24 3/4 cm inches Width 7 1/2 inches 19 cm Length 10 3/4 inches 27 1/8 cmProvenance: From a Baltimore Maryland homeCondition: The top right comer on the door has a loss. There is a separation to the same corner. The bottom Left hand side also has a crack with losses and separation. The rear left hand corner with a crack and some losses. The rear right hand corner with some separation and flaking. Overall the center of the panels are in good shape. With no significant ware or loss to the seams. There are marks on the interior wear the hinges are attached to the body. There is a small chip on the top of the bottom drawer. All of the hardware, hinges and latches and handles, appear to be in good shape. Nothing of note to the underside. The left side front door is slightly loose at the hinges. A late 19th / early 20th century German oak twin pedestal desk, the surface with one bowed side, three frieze drawers, each pedestal with cabinet door enclosing three slide drawer, profusely carved and dark stained with lions head masks, caryatids, floral and foliate decoration, 164 by 88 by 77.5cm high.
A Maple & Co, London, mahogany side table, early 20th century, inlaid and crossbanded, with two frieze drawers, drawer stamped, raised on square section tapering supports, 107 by 50 by 71cm high, together with an Edwardian mahogany glazed two door cupboard of similar style, 94 by 28 by 98cm high. An early 20th century doll's house, circa 1904, painted green, front door with textured glass pane and working door bell, four double windows and a single, opening to reveal a fully fitted and furnished interior, with many early and vintage items of furniture, dolls and accessories, metal guttering and fitted for lighting, 80 by 37 by 82cm high, together with a scrap book for the dolls house with details of its history and contents.
