One small glass panel with one inch crack. Right hand cabinet door with veneer section 1" square. Left hand cabinet door with three small veneer sections repaired. All drawers run well. Brass handles good and original. Fall is good with minor warping only. The whole with some age wear, surface scuffs and is unpolished. Otherwise good.

A Regency Rosewood and Mahogany Triple-Door Library Bookcase, 2nd quarter 19th century, the cavetto cornice above leaf-scrolled brackets and glazed doors enclosing ten adjustable shelves, the base with cupboard doors with gathered fabric panels, on a plinth base208cm by 53cm by 225cmMaximum height including the cornice is 225cm. The interior depth of the middle section with the door closed is 30cm, for the end sections it is 25cm. The bookcase only splits in two (the base section and the upper-section). The cornice appears to be fixed. The bookcase is in excellent cosmetic condition. The bookcase has been restored. Minor splits evident mainly around the cornice (as photographed). Colour is slightly flat - otherwise good.

The chest section is open but there is no key for this section.

Gillow & Co: An Exhibition Quality Victorian Specimen Wood, Marquetry, Parquetry and Gilt Metal-Mounted Side Cabinet, 3rd quarter 19th century, the timbers including kingwood, tulipwood, amboyna, gonçalo alves, pearwood, burr yew and harewood, the mirrored superstructure with scrolled brackets above a breakfront frieze, the doors richly inlaid with marquetry panels of birds in a nest, flanked by column supports, the glazed doors enclosing a velvet-lined interior, on a platform base with compressed feet, acanthus gilded metal mounts throughout, the door stamped Gillow & Co, R and HP206cm by 50cm by 156cm Five of the gilt metal circular mounts are missing to the doors (as photographed). Overall in very good condition. Some general scratches on the shelf. Some bruising consistent with age, mainly around the top section (ie. below the mirror plate).

Small section of timber also missing. We assume that the top would have had further leaves. Some repairs around the hinges. The top section has some deep scratches. There is evidence to suggest that there has been an additional foldover leaf (see images) where you can see previous hinge marks.

The back boards have been darkened and there is some general strengthening repair work around the bracket feet. The central cupboard door is slightly bowed and the pins on the hinge are loose.
