G & J lines Bros No: 10 wooden dolls house, English circa 1910, the painted white and papered red brick façade with central front door and two glazed arched windows to each side, balcony above with two larger double windows, all with paper green blinds, and wooden surrounds, pitched paper tiled roof, two chimneys and front opening in single wing to four rooms on two levels, each with original wooden fireplaces, wall and floor papers, (generally good condition, some wear), 33” (84cm) tall, 24 ½” (62cm) wide, 17” (43cm) deep, with original pencil number to base.

FINE MAHOGANY AND GILT BRASS MOUNTED LONGCASE CLOCK FOR THE SPANISH MARKET, ROBERT AND PETER HIGGS, LONDON18TH CENTURY the arch moulded hood above an arched brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed 'Roberto y Pedro Higgs/ Londres/, the arch with a TOCAR/SILENCIO dial, with brass spandrels to the corners and arch, the hood door with a gilt brass bezel and flanked by gilt brass reeded columns with brass capitals, above bridge top trunk door flanked by gilt brass reeded quarter columns, on a plinth base with a moulded panel flanked by further gilt brass reeded quarter columns, raised on ormolu foliate cast rococo style feet; the five pillar eight day movement striking on two bells58cm wide, 244cm high, 29cm deepNote: The father and son partnership of Robert and Peter Higgs produced clocks of extremely high quality, evidenced by Peter being made master of The Worshipful Company of Clockmakers in 1767. They are recorded working from Sweetings Alley in London and had important customers in Spain, where they are known to have supplied clocks to the King. The present clock, made for the Spanish market, has 'Tocar/Silencio' in the arch for Strike/Silent as well as the Higgs' names changed to 'Roberto and Pedro' rather than Anglicised Robert and Peter.
A KOREAN LACQUERED WOOD CHEST, BANDAJI CHOSON DYNASTY The top half with seven drawers surrounding a small storage area with two hinged doors, the lower half with a drop-front door opening on a larger storage area, decorated with mother of pearl, tortoiseshell, shagreen and inlaid brass wires with four confronting phoenix, stylised clouds, flowerheads and trigrams, the corners and hinges with ornate brass mounts, all raised on a stand with similar decoration, 114cm x 91cm x 35.5cm. (2) See the Metropolitan Museum of Art, acc. n. 63.121.1a,b, for a comparable chest bequeathed by Franklin Jasper Walls and described as possibly the property of a Korean noble woman. Also, see Bonhams San Francisco, 25th June 2014, lot 6051 for a storage chest with similar decoration. PLEASE NOTE THE BIRDS' BEAKS MAY BE HORN RATHER THAN TORTOISESHELL.
