Mulliner's of Birmingham. A coach-built designer's model created in mahogany with lacquered brass fittings and plastic windows, a well-crafted modello depicting a Mulliner's idea for a four-door saloon on a Standard Triumph chassis. Possibly the inspiration of Stuart Peck, Mulliner's post-war designer. With significant detail, the boot lid opens to reveal a selection of cases and hat boxes and the rear mudguard drops to aid access to the spare wheel. 22-inches (56cms) long.
A Pair of B.R.C. 'Alpha' Self-Contained Acetylene Gas Headlamps Dating between 1903 and 1910, a sided-pair of Boa-Rodrigues & Company factory-made lamps. Manufactured for 'Maison Labourdette', 183 Rue de la Pompe, Paris, (coachbuilders) with engraved insignia fitted to the heat ventilators on each lamp. Other features include parabolic nickel-silver reflectors with mirror lenses, centrally mounted condenser lenses, stout hinges and pull locking bars to each front door, carrying bails, stabilising feet, 7½-inch spaced fork mountings, and both numbered 135. The generators retain their appropriate gas taps, carbide of calcium cylinders and bayonet locking With 11-inch bezels and standing 14-inches high, they are in excellent polished-brass condition. (2)
A Pair of B.R.C. 'Alpha' Acetylene Gas Projectors Dating between 1903 & 1909, a sided-pair of Boa-Rodrigues & Company factory-made lamps, together with their correct running board mounted acetylene gas generator. Made for retailers Dunhill, the lamps have 'Dunhill Motoralities' badges fitted to the heat ventilators. Other features include parabolic nickel-silver reflectors, centrally mounted condenser lenses, stout hinges and sprung clips to each front door, carrying bails, stabilising feet and 8-inch spaced fork mountings. With 12-inch bezels and standing 17-inches high, they are in magnificent polished-brass condition. The rectangular generator has a carrying handle, gas tap, carbide of calcium cylinder and bayonet locking. (3)
A c1888 Hartzendorff & Lehmann Candle-Powered Lamp Manufactured in Germany, probably for the French market, it used the Lucas registered design body and side glasses as a design basis. In very good condition, with some restoration, the blanked aperture where the burner winder would have been positioned is visible. The H&L insignia is just above the hinging door and the rear bracket is correct and complete. This lamp is illustrated and discussed in ECL, page 155. 11½-inches (29cm) high.
A c1880 Hillman, Herbert & Cooper Hub Lamp A rear opening lamp manufactured for the significant retailer, Clement & Company of 20 Rue Brunel, Paris. A complete lamp, with its correct oil reservoir, pick-wick wick collar and ventilator, hasp locked rear door, barrel hub with later leather bearers, adjustable centralising antennae (one leather feeler missing) and all glasses intact, to include the tell-tale red rear glass. This rare lamp was restored a number of years ago; the enamel has mellowed nicely. 7-inches (18cm) high.
A c1885 'King of the Road' Ordinary Hub Lamp Fitted with an 1884-patented metal hub bearing, suitable for a ½-inch axle hub, the lamp comes complete with its correct oil reservoir and mechanical wick-holder, threaded rear reflector, sliding side window, tension adjusters, the aforementioned metal hub and its 'lighting facilitator' fitted into its front door-mounted holster. A middle-size oil lamp, the glasses are intact, and the body shell is in excellent condition, albeit now painted green. The internally fitted tensioner grips are missing but are easily replaced. 8½-inches (21cm) high, suitable for fitting into a 52 or 54-inch driving wheel.
Three unboxed vintage Japanese battery operated tinplate toys including a Noel Decorations Inc. revolving 'Animated Santa' figure together with two Alps fishing Bear figures each with separate tinplate 'ponds' each containing two small tinplate fish, with the black bear missing part of the line and magnetized 'bait'. All untested and generally all would appear to have clean battery compartments except for the black Fishing Bear which has some corrosion to the battery compartment door. Please be advised that these toys have been on display for a considerable period of time and may need some coaxing to function correctly. Furthermore it is inadvisable to use modern batteries in these toys. (3)
Three unboxed vintage Japanese battery operated tinplate toys including a Yonezawa (Japan) Mother Bear figure, seated on a tinplate chair, feeding a baby bear, an Iwaya Bear figure seated on a tinplate rocking chair, reading and smoking a pipe, together with an Alps Drumming Clown figure.. All untested and generally would appear to have clean battery terminals although the Iwaya Bear does have corrosion to the battery compartment door. Please be advised that these toys have been on display for a considerable period of time and may need some coaxing to function correctly. Furthermore it is inadvisable to use modern batteries in these toys. (3)
