A late Victorian black slate and marble mantle clock, with two train striking movement. Width 27 cm, height 29 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The case is in structurally very good order with only very minor nibbles to the sharp edges in places. The front door operates as it should. It is a little tarnished. The dial appears to be in good condition with only very minor blemishes. The minute pointer is missing. We have no key or pendulum. We can not therefore tell if the movement is working or not.
A good burr walnut veneered linen press, early 20th century, with cavetto and cushion moulded pediment above two well figured doors with crossbanding and inlaid stringing, with applied mouldings, the right door opening to reveal five drawers, the left with a single drawer, above a fall front base concealing four drawers with turned wood handles, each side similarly decorated with well figured and inlaid panels, all supported on square legs with applied moulding. Width 143 cm, height 174.5 cm, depth 63.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The press is in generally good condition. The moulded cornice and dentil work are in very good condition with no issues. The panelled sides have some evidence of old stress fractures to the walnut veneers, these are simply along the carcass joints and caused by shrinkage. There is no movement and, in our opinion, this is not significant. The right-hand panel has a very small section of slightly lifting boxwood stringing. There is however no loss. The doors are not warped and the figured panels are in good order. There are some minor losses to some of the stringing on the door fronts but again this is minimal. The left-hand door has a small section of crossbanding missing. The base moulding is in good condition all around. Both lower side panels have similar veneer stress fractures to the top and some very minor losses to the veneers. The front base cupboard door is missing the lock. It is stiff to close. There are some losses to the bottom right and left-hand corners of this front panel and other very minor veneer and stringing losses. The interior drawers behind are all present. The base and legs are in good condition all round with only minor scratches and marks as one would expect. The interior to the upper section is all present and in good order. Both upper locks operate.
An unusual late Regency mahogany sideboard, having a bowfront back and breakfront, above two central oak lined drawers flanked by cupboard doors, each with brass ring handle with beaded escutcheon, all upon tapering reeded and turned legs. 184.5 cm wide, 94.5 cm high, 81 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The sideboard is structurally sound and of good original colour. It is also an interesting shape and a good looking piece. Unfortunately however there are two significant splits to the top. The left hand cupboard door also has stress fractures to the veneers. It is a shame about the splits to the top as this is a good looking sideboard.
A late 19th century George III style mahogany kneehole desk, the well figured top with moulded edge above a series of drawers and recessed cupboard door, all upon shaped bracket feet. width 83 cm, height 78 cm, depth 49.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This desk is generally in extremely good condition. It is a good colour. The top is flat with no significant marks or scratches. There are no splits to the sides and all drawer fronts are in good condition. The handles appear to be original. The recessed cupboard is in good order. All bracket feet with the exception of the rear right-hand foot are in good condition. The right-hand rear foot is missing the bottom section of the outer bracket. This would be a relatively easy fix. The piece is structurally very sound and their is no evidence of any woodworm.
A William IV mahogany dwarf linen press, having a well figured top above two arched panel doors flanked by plain pilasters with foliate capitals enclosing four drawing slides, all upon a plinth base. 113.5 cm wide, 110.5 cm high, 58.5 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The press is in generally good order. The top is flat with no splits and no serious scratches or marks. The front left hand corner has had a small repair to the crossbanding and there are two small old repairs to the crossbanding on the right hand return. The right hand side panel is in generally good condition with no splits and only minor old marks and scratches. The left hand side has several veneer repairs which should be visible on our images. The doors are not warped and are both in generally good condition. The centre beaded moulding has a small loss to the top and there is a slight gap between the doors when closed. The lock is present but we do not have a key. Both left hand door bolts are present. All interior trays are also in situ. One has a small loss to the front bottom left hand corner the others have minor nibbles. The plinth base is in generally good condition all round with some minor veneer repairs. In our opinion the piece could be enjoyed in its current state without the need for any work.
A Compactum dark oak gentleman's fitted wardrobe, K.N. Model, the well appointed interior with original fittings. Width 107 cm, height 173 cm, depth 41 cm. CONDITION REPORT: On first appearance this looks to be in clean order however the upper left hand side panel has got some old woodworm holes although these are not extensive. There are paint splashes along the bottom plinth of the left hand side. The right hand side varnish is fading in patches. The left hand door handle patina is rubbed. The interior is clean throughout. The Compactum hangers all have signs of wear. There is a surplus hook in the right hand side interior door which is not original. The interior lock which releases the left hand door works as it should. There are external commensurate with age scuff marks around the base.
A pair of Regency style mahogany pedestal cabinets, each with drawer above a panelled cupboard door flanked by half round reeded columns and raised on short turned legs. Width 58 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Both cabinets are in generally very good condition. They are structurally sound. We can see no significant losses to any of the veneers and there are no splits. The doors are not warped. There is a minor scratch to the top of one cabinet running for +/- 4 cm. We have both locks and both keys. All legs are original and in good order. The backboards are also original. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
A George III oak hanging corner cupboard. CONDITION REPORT: The cupboard is structurally sound. The lock is present but we do not have the key. The green painted interior is in generally good condition. The plinth base is in good condition all round. The backboards are original.
