The clock having a white enamel face with painted floral spandrels and arch dial finely with a biblical scene Abraham before angels, Roman dial, date aperture, eight day movement striking on a bell, the case with swan neck pediment, attached turned columns, the trunk having a moulded door flanked by pillared corners, with decorative satinwood inlay, approx 240 cms h.

JASPER TAYLOR, GRAYS INN; a 17th century ebonised bracket clock with cast brass loop handle and four finials to the rectangular case, set with brass face, four applied cherub mask heads and a silver chapter ring bearing Arabic and Roman numerals, with verge and fusee movement, height 37cm.Condition Report: The hinges and locks to both doors may not be original. The clock is clean throughout, especially the movement, There are holes in the back plate which are not used by any part of the machinist or pillars suggesting alterations to the movement or removal of an alarm. The verge may not be original. Elements of the dial may also be replacements. General age wear cracks to the veneer and expected wear consummate with age and use. Wear to the aperture for the dial behind the front door. Overall of a good appearance. Floor of case is in good condition. The clock chimes on a bell. We cannot guarantee that it is in full working order. Dial size is 16.5cm. No pull repeat cord or hole. The small side panels above the glass on either side of the case are larger replacements.

WHITE, 20 COCKSPUR STREET, LONDON; a 19th century Gothic Revival carved walnut cased bracket clock, with carved finials above the carved case, the shaped silvered dial bearing Roman numerals and three subsidiary dials, the movement chiming on eight bells, complete with matching carved walnut bracket, overall height 97cm, height of clock 74cm.Condition Report: Age wear tarnishing to the moulding around the face, the case with age wear cracks to the veneer, scratch to the top the joint to the bottom left is open, but nothing serious, grill to the back door with age wear tarnishing, movement with general light age wear tarnishing and gong with slight rusting, despite faults overall appearance good please see additional images.

A 19th century oak cased four glass bracket clock, the silvered dial set with Roman numerals and fusee movement, height 25cm, width 19cm, depth 14cm.Condition Report: The case appears to be rather clean although there is a minor loss to the edge so the back door, age wear tarnishing and light scratches to the face, overall fair condition.

Lot 1369

THOMAS CHAPPELL, LONDON; a George III ebonised bracket clock with four gilt acorn finials above the single glazed door with pierced brass panels enclosing the brass dial with oval panel signed Tho. Chappell, with silvered chapter ring bearing Arabic and Roman numerals and subsidiary date and strike/silent dials, with twin fusee movements, height 58cm.Condition Report: Metal mounts with expected age wear tarnishing and ebonised areas with light age wear rubbing, some marks and slight knocks. Top section with a few minor hair line cracks. Morton left corner of door with a slight chip. Silvered chapter ring, subsidiary dial and name plate with light tarnishing and wear. Lock plate to the door is not original and hinges to the door have additional screws. Small chip to the wood around the arch of the dial but this is hidden when the door is closed. Movement clean and bright, backplate with holes which do not connect to mechanism suggesting alteration to the movement. Back right foot with a fatigue crack, 58cm with the handle up, we cannot guarantee full working order.

Lot 1382

A late 19th century walnut and ebonised eight day mantel clock, with enamel Roman numeral dial and movement striking on a bell, height 27cm, with a Victorian black slate eight day mantel clock and an American thirty hour timepiece for Forestville Conn (3).Condition Report: All with general light age wear consistent with age and use, the enamel dial to the walnut clock with some hairline cracks, the glass door to the American clock with some degrading and with some general knocks to the case on this clock, we cannot guarantee that the clocks are in full working order.

A 19th century rosewood drop-dial wall clock, the mother of pearl inlaid decoration surrounding the painted dial, set with Roman numerals, length 72cm.Condition Report: scratches, scuffs and splits throughout some losses around the edges and a small patch repair the the face, the bottom door is wedged shut and does not some with a pendulum, we do not guarantee full working order.

WILLIAM MARSTON SALOP; a late George III eight day oak longcase clock, the enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dials and date aperture, with movement striking on a bell, the hood with painted detailing to the frieze and fluted columns above a crossbanded door, on plinth base, height 209cm.Condition Report: The dial has some repainting and slight repairs below the name, general craquelure throughout to the enamel dial, the gilding around the date aperture and the copper rivets around the winding apertures are possibly not original, the base section of the clock appears to have been repaired and there are many later timbers around the plinth box, curved moulding and the blocks supporting the corner fluted pilasters.
