This maker is recorded in both Loomes (Brian) Lancaster Clocks and Clockmakers and Baillie (GH) Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World10.04.18, Case has been cleaned to a high standard, later feet, dial has been re-painted to a high standard, movement crutch is missing, with a pendulum and one weight.

A Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock, broken arch pediment, well figured trunk door flanked by inset pilasters, 13-1/4-inch brass dial, painted circular centre dial inscribed Smyth, Dublin, four pillar movement, rack striking on a bell, later case, 241cm high 22.03.18, Trunk door is slightly bowed and with small scratches and small cut marks to the lower right hand side, front of the plinth with cracks, feet are scuffed, painted dial centre with crazing cracks throughout, one brass collet around one of the winding holes is missing, old signs of one of the chapter ring feet repaired at 11 o'clock position, later seatboard, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, later case.
