A rare late 19thC Waterfall railway platform lamp, for 'Loch Awe' Caledonian Railways, the lower tier of the triple pagoda style waterfall top stamped Caledonian, with LOCH AWE to the front glass, with side hinged door enclosing a double paraffin burner by Sherwood Ltd, Birmingham, the reservoir stamped 'Caledonian', 79cm high, 43.5cm wide, 28.5cm deep, partially restored, with two British Railways luggage labels from Loch Awe to 'Strathyre' Hurst Green, Birmingham, 23/12/1965. A Chinese small black and gilt lacquer cabinet on stand, mid 18th Century, the two doors enclosing ten small drawers, decorated overall with deer and pagodas in a wooded river landscape, mounted with engraved brass angle plate, hinges and swing carrying handles, on associated ebonised oak stand, 54.5cm wide, 40cm deep, the stand 63.5cm wide, total height 99cmCollection label of Henry Berkeley Viscount Portman 1922With worn paper label reading 'Berkeley [Visc]ount Portman, 1922'Base associated, the back panel with splits and movement cracks, movement has caused a crack approximately 5mm into the top, approximately 7cm gouge to top, slight chips and losses to lacquer throughout, base and cabinet separate, the base heavily scuffed and scratched, heavily pattinated fittings throughout, split to interior left door of cabinet, the drawer surrounds to lower drawers heavily worn and with loss to gilding, upper right drawer with crack across the centre drawer front, with the half drawer front cracked but present, missing original key, moulding around base with sone chips and cracking, one of the left hinge plates loose and lacking pin, general scuffs, scratches and wear acceptable with age and usage

A Regency mahogany linen press of small proportions, the upper part with two panelled doors enclosing two sliding trays, with two short and a long drawer below, original handles, 156cm high, 15.5cm, 53cm deepAll over fair condition with wear, bumps, scuffs and scratches commensurate with age and use. Reeded moulding section missing upper left side and slight loss to moulding upper right corner. Several old restorations including a little patching to above centre door, replacement door lock and added locking block. Key to door a little stiff. Drawer locks original but lacking key. Back panel with movement letting. Right door panel with movement as pictured.

TOWER HILL LONDON., the right edge engraved Her Majesty's Yacht Osborne, hinged door to divided interior, side securing rings and brass feet drilled for deck securing -- 19in. (48cm.) highThe instrument maker Mackenzie Borbidge is probably the son of Charles Borbidge and who took over the business in 1834; Alfred Chislett traded from Tower Hill between 1834-55 suggesting this compass was possibly from the first R.Y. Victoria & Albert which was renamed Osborne in 1855 when the Victoria & Albert II was built. This first Osborne remained in service until 1867 when the bespoke Osborne was built and which remained in service until 1908.Card a little time-stained around pivot; left glass cracked; otherwise good original condition.
