1991 Seat Marbella SplashMake: SeatModel: Marbella SplashYear: 1991Mileage: 58463VIN: VSS028A0000325265Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: J650MDETransmission: ManualThe SEAT Marbella was a badge-engineered Spanish version of the Fiat Panda, and was in production from 1980 to 1986 (as the SEAT Panda) and then 1986 to 1998 (as the SEAT Marbella), with styling changes to the front and rear to differentiate it from its Italian sibling. UK survivors are rare; it is believed that only 40 are left in Britain. This Azul Lara blue example, registered in August 1991, is fitted with an 843cc engine and has been the vendor's daily drive for the last 3.5 years. He reports it to have been totally reliable during that time, with it being driven to the auction. While, being original, the car does show some signs of age, it's in generally good order although the driver's door does display some damage during an attempted theft, and the sunroof is now sealed with black duck tape (with no signs of leaks

1965 Rover P6 2000Make: Rover Model: P6 2000Year: 1965Mileage: 71879VIN: 40016907BConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: DTP280CTransmission: manualThis is an earlier Rover P6, having been registered June 1965, when the only engine option was the 2-litre unit, in this case with a manual gearbox. These earlier cars are known by some enthusiasts as 'Sharkstooths' due to their front valance design. The previous owner had the car for over 30 years and it was restored by him several years ago. The odometer currently shows 71,879 miles, with the car reported as being in good mechanical condition; the vendor tells us that the engine runs well and does not burn or leak oil, or overheat, with recent runs out in the car being 'free of any dramas, breakdowns or unexpected mechanical issues'. The P6 was driven 60 miles to the auction with no issues. The white bodywork is in very good condition and has an original red leather flatpleat interior, which is described as 'very good' - with the door seals, door cards, carpet and rubber mats all in fine order. Just before the vendor bought the car (earlier this year) the previous owner overhauled the rear brakes and fitted new pads - good news for any prospective owner, as these are inboard items, so trickier to work on than the more conventional front brakes. As an historic vehicle, the Rover is now MoT-exempt; its last certificate expired in January 2021 however. The online MoT history shows no serious issues back to 2006, which is when the online history ends. The vendor has only owned the car for a short while, and is now selling because his wife would prefer a more modern classic. The V5C shows four previous registered keepers, and there are copies of previous V5Cs, as well as MoT certificates back to 2001. There's also a handful of recent bills from 2022 for a Dunlop rear brake caliper seal kit, the brake pad set along with two owner's manuals, three workshop manuals and a period brochure. Before that, it was owned by his niece, from 2000 to 2009. The paperwork file includes the V5C, copy of the last MoT certificate, Peugeot wallet containing the owners manual, radio code and radio manual plus service book. This contains six stamps up to 41,207 miles in June 2000. There's a handful of older invoices as well. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 3RD JUNE BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

2004 VW Type 2 T2c Danbury CaravanetteMake: Volkswagen Model: Type 2 T2c Danbury CaravanetteYear: 2004Mileage: 108180VIN: PBWGB07X64P000938Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: WX54MFFTransmission: manualAlthough the 'Bay Window' Volkswagen Type 2 Transporter went out of production in Europe in 1979, in Latin America, where VW had an especially strong presence, manufacture of the T2 carried on. Brazilian manufacture only ceased in 2013, by which point the roof had been raised by 10 inches to create the T2c variant and the venerable old air-cooled engine at the rear had been swapped for a water-cooled unit. This example is one of the last with air-cooled power, in this case a 1.6-litre unit. It was constructed in Brazil during 2004 before coming over to the UK where Beetles (UK) Limited converted it into a Danbury camper, with two-tone white over pale green paint, non-standard cloth, bench seat that converts into a rock 'n' roll bed, two-burner stove with sink, immobiliser, underseal, auxiliary battery, elevating roof and vent, CD radio and four speakers, winter pack (including petrol heater), front-mounted solid spare wheel cover, chrome trim pack, bike rack, awning, roof rack and mains hook-up. Further modifications throughout the years included Suede Green leather and tartan upholstery, full leather door cards, Porsche-style Fuchs alloy wheels, walnut and tulip wood floor and table, new cooker and sink unit, and a flat-screen Alpine media system. A £2750 bill in the paperwork indicates a reconditioned 1.6-litre Brazilian exchange engine was fitted in October 2016, while it seems a full restoration has also been carried out relatively recently, judging by the van's body condition. The odometer currently shows 108,206km (67,236 miles) and five previous owners are noted on the V5C. There's a fresh MoT valid until May 2023. The engine starts easily and runs well. The history folder includes the V5C, owner's manual, service book (stamped up to 108,174km in December 2021), Alpine Media Station manuals in both paper and CD form, and a Volkswagen Transporter Haynes Enthusiast Guide book by Jonathan Harvey. There's some maintenance invoices, including the bill for the reconditioned engine. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 30TH MAY BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1998 Rover 820 Vitesse CoupeMake: RoverModel: 820 Vitesse Year: 1998Mileage: 102351VIN: SARRSCCVGWM248359Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R979FWSTransmission: manualThis Cayman Blue Rover 820 Vitesse Coupe, with grey leather interior and black piping, was registered in January 1998 and sold via Hartwells of Bristol. It features the 200bhp 1998cc engine as also used in the Rover Tomcat coupe, matched to a five-speed manual gearbox and Torsen limited slip differential. Being a higher spec executive Rover, the car features a high standard of equipment such as twin electric seats, sunroof and CD changer (all of which are working). The 820 is considered the most desirable of the coupe range, being the only manual transmission model. The current owner purchased the car in October 2013 and carried out extensive work to get the car into the excellent condition it is in today. It was given two new (factory) wings and a replacement door. A replacement sill was specially fabricated. After that, the car was resprayed after being stripped and corrosion-treated.

Lot 665

1962 Ford Consul 315 Classic 2 doorMake: Ford Model: Consul Classic Year: 1962Mileage: 23370VIN: Z34B067175Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: 315XURTransmission: manualThe Consul Classic was an attempt by Ford to capitalise on the success and distinctive appearance of the Ford Anglia 105E with a larger car. However, the very American-looking machines were overshadowed by the launch of the more nimble and lightweight Cortina in 1962 and ultimately had quite a short production life for a Ford, lasting only from 1961 to 1963. This makes them quite rare among British Blue Ovals today. This example was restored 'a few years ago', after having changed colour from red to the blue shade it is today in 2008. The interior was retrimmed in two-tone blue during 2017 including the headlining. The vendor tells us that the car 'drives really very well'. The '315 XUR' numberplate is a nice reference to the '315' designation that Ford gave the Consul Classic when a current model, and is a non-transferable plate.
