A walnut kneehole desk in mid 18thC style, the rectangular feather banded veneered top, with a moulded edge, above a frieze drawer with baize internal slide and fitted compartments below, with a further seven drawers around a kneehole with a door, on bracket feet, 79cm high, 48cm deep and 76cm wide.

Ernest Gimson mahogany bedside cabinet, the top with visible dovetailing to the sides, single shelf above cupboard, the cupboard below enclosed by framed fielded panel door, having brass drop double loop handle with trefoil terminal, having engraved decoration, the carcase with macassar ebony beading, the sides with integral curved handles, on sledge feet with curved front and chamfered front edge, circa 1920, 43cm wide (the door separated) This collection comes from the late Arthur Mitchell from the brewers, Mitchell & Butler, who commissioned many of the pieces directly from Gimson, Barnsley and Peter Waals. He was a strong supporter of the Cotswold School and a good friend of Edward Barnsley, son of Sidney Barnsley. Arthur Mitchell lived in Cheltenham at Glenfall House and pieces from his collection are also to be found at the Cheltenham Wilson Art Gallery Museum in the Arts and Crafts Department
Edward Barnsley walnut regulator longcase clock, the hood with angular arched pediment, the circular steel dial with subsidiary seconds and hours dials and inscribed "Dent, 41 Pall Mall and 4 Royal Exchange, London", no.62959 behind octagonal glazed door, the trunk having door with two fielded panels, brass label to interior engraved "Sir William Waters Butler bequeathed certain monies to his friend Arthur Mitchell and this clock and case were commissioned therefrom, to commemorate 40 years friendship and work together. The regulator movement was made by Dent & Co of London and the English Walnut Case was designed by Edward Barnsley and made by him and his chief assistant H Upton in 1940", similar panels to the base, all with holly and ebony chequered stringing and wavy line ebony beading, on plinth base, 207cm high This collection comes from the late Arthur Mitchell from the brewers, Mitchell & Butler, who commissioned many of the pieces directly from Gimson, Barnsley and Peter Waals.
