A Late 19th Century Swiss Vertically Mounted Sublime Harmony Cylinder Musical Box by Thomas Dawkins & Co., Geneva, with 28cm brass cylinder, the two steel combs with stamped brass rosettes forming the screw washers, playing eight airs, stamped with Griffin trademark, enclosed by a glazed hinged inner door, the ratcheted winding handle to one side, and with change/repeat and stop/play levers to the opposing side, the whole vertically mounted in a walnut case with hinged fascia doors, crossbanded in kingwood, with ebonised swept plinth and squat bracket feet, length 60cm.
A mid to late 19c. Brigg long case clock-the painted arch dial decorated with cottages, circular Roman numeric dial, Arabic second hand and date aperture signed J. Chant, Brigg. Fitted in an arched mahogany case with a wide rosewood cross band and flanked by part turned columns, the wide trunk inlaid with horses, flowers and scrolls above a shaped door flanked by further columns with a prominent rosewood cross band. The whole on bracket feet. 236 cms. high.
