A Walnut Eight Day Longcase Clock, case with caddied pediment, glazed viewing side windows, arched trunk door with matched walnut veneers, plinth with stepped skirting, 12-inch arched brass dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring, N/S selection lever positioned at 3 o'clock, finely matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, signed on a silvered plaque Jos Smith Bristol, arch with automata rocking Tempus Fugit Memento Mori, four pillar movement, anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, 235cm high Provenance: Tennants, 27th July 2011, Lot 1093 15.01.21 Case with restorations, top section above the bottom moulding of the pediment has been re-built, wooden dial surround has been replaced, case has been cleaned throughout to the surfaces, replaced mouldings in parts, plinth sides and skirting look replaced, dial appears complete, minute hand has been broken at some time and has been repaired, movement with one pillar missing, movement has only four pillars and should have five pillars, movement needs cleaning, (dial and movement are possibly later added to the case)

A French Ormolu Striking Mantel Clock with Garniture, circa 1880, surmounted by an urn swag finial, case elaborately decorated with swags, scrolls and acanthus leaf borders, 4-inch enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, dial centre inscribed Callier Horloger de la Marine, twin barrel movement striking on a bell, movement backplate with maker's stamp mark Japy Freres and numbered 3182, 42cm high, with a pair of three light ormolu candelabra garniture, 34cm high 11.08.21 Clock case and garniture surfaces are slightly discoloured and with small staining marks in parts, back door glass with scratches, dial with small scratches and the signature and place name is rubbed, dial with small scratches, striking correctly, movement is working, later bell, with pendulum.

A Brass Striking and Repeating Alarm Carriage Clock with Seconds Dial, signed Raingo Fres A Paris, circa 1870, carrying handle and repeat button, back door signed within an engraved floral cartouche, enamel dial with Roman numerals and signed, seconds and alarm dials, twin barrel movement with a platform lever escapement and striking on a bell, movement backplate numbered 3786, 17cm high over handle 11.08.21 Brass surfaces are discoloured throughout, case is dirty, right hand side bevel glass with a large chip to the lower edge, glasses with scratches, dial with small chip to the top corners, minute hand is broken and needs replacing, back door with winding hole shutter panel missing, movement is working, movement needs a service.

A Black Forest Cuckoo Bracket Clock, circa 1890, elaborately carved case front depicting stags, hunting dog and leaf foliage decoration, cuckoo door aperture above 12, 5-inch dial with Roman numerals, twin spring barrel movement with outside countwheel striking on a gong, 52cm high, with oak wall bracket, 27cm high 12.08.21 Clock case slightly faded in parts, one of the stags with both horns missing and one of the stags ears are missing, 1 and 5 o'clock numerals with part of the numerals missing, cuckoo has come off and needs securing back into position, with a later clock bracket which would date circa 1900.

A Scottish Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed M.Ferguson, Mauchline, circa 1840, well figured case, flame veneer trunk door flanked by canted corners, 14-inch arch painted dial with Roman numerals, seconds and date dials, arch painted and titled ''The Queen in the Highlands'', four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, 220cm high 10.08.21 Case with small cracks to the left hand side, bottom side of the trunk door with a replaced piece of veneer, later feet, hood door is slightly bowed, dial is clean, movement is complete, with pendulum and two weights.

A Carved Oak Marquetry Inlaid Thirty Hour Longcase Clock, signed Ricd Midgley, circa 1720, broken arched pediment, elaborately carved throughout with scroll and floral decoration, arched trunk door with marquetry inlay with flowers and bird decoration, 10-inch square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring signed, lunar aperture and date aperture, single hand, crown and cherub spandrels, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 203cm high 10.08.21 Trunk door with a small crack to the top side, marquetry inlay is lifting in parts and some pieces are missing, case with woodworm holes throughout, hood door is loose and with a later glass, hood door with a later latch, later ball finial, trunk with a small chip to the front left hand edge, dial is discoloured, movement is dirty, with pendulum and weight.

An Oak Thirty Hour Longcase Clock, signed Saml Lawson, Kighley, circa 1760, flat top pediment, inlaid arched trunk door, 12-inch square brass dial with chapter ring signed, date aperture, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 225cm high 10.08.21 Case is faded in parts, later finial, right hand side of the case with small cracks, trunk door is slightly bowed, dial needs re-silvering, movement is clean, with weight and pendulum,pendulum suspension spring is broken.

An Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Simon Aish, Sherborne, circa 1720, flat top pediment, walnut veneered trunk door, 12-inch square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring signed, dial centre engraved with scroll and bird decoration, seconds and date aperture, ringed winding holes, five pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, later case, 203cm high 12.08.21 Later case has been polished throughout, restoration to the hood, trunk door and plinth appear to have been re-veneered, case with chips to the edges and cracks in parts, dial with small scratches, movement needs cleaning, with two brass cased weights and a pendulum.

An Oak Thirty Hour Longcase Clock, signed William Porthouse, Penrith, circa 1760, flat top pediment, twin arched trunk door, 11-1/2-inch square brass dial, dial centre with a circular plaque signed, date aperture, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 199cm high 09.08.21 Hood with two cracks to the sides, trunk with chips to the left hand side back edge, dial is discoloured, brass dial plate with two small hairline cracks at 12 and 9 o'clock edge, movement needs cleaning, with pendulum and one weight.

Decoration throughout is rather rubbed with some small areas of re-painting (see images). Stand with small losses around the feet.

Cupboard door panels are split. Later brass mounts added to the corner of the doors. Brasses seem original. No handles missing from cupboard doors.
