A George I walnut and burr walnut kneehole desk early 18th century, probably converted from a chest, the rectangular cross and feather banded quarter-veneered top with re-entrant front corners, above a deep frieze drawer and six short drawers around a recessed kneehole door, with replaced brasses, on bracket feet, 29½ x 17in. A George III mahogany bureau bookcase, the top fitted adjustable shelves enclosed by a pair of glazed tracery doors, the cornice a later replacement, the bureau with a well figured fall front reveals a fitted interior with a cupboard door, drawers and pigeon holes, above four long graduated oak lined drawers with brass swan neck handles, on short bracket feet. Base 3ft 4in (102cm) wide, cornice 3ft 6.5in (108cm) wide, 6ft 8in (203cm) high.
