A French brass cased carriage clock,the dial, front and sides painted in enamels with cherubs, birds and figures in landscapes, the gorge case with all-over engraved decoration, the movement striking the half hours on a gong and with repeat mechanism, stamped 'B' in a circle on backplate,17cm high to top of handleThis mark is often found on carriage clocks and has been associated with Jules Brunelot.Condition report: Chip to bottom left corner of door glass, wear to gilding on enamel in various places and 15+ tiny red dots lost to the side panels. Both barrels wind up, strikes and repeats but balance wheel reluctant to go for very long. Probably needs a thorough clean. Porcelain plaques appear from from cracks, however have some light surface wear, scratches and rubbing. Some cabochons lost. Please see additional images.

A walnut cased bracket clock,19th century, by Reid & Auld, the five-pillar movement with twin-chain fusee, strike/silent lever, striking the hours on a bell, the silvered dial and backplate inscribed 'Reid & Auld Edinburgh 1305', the dial also inscribed 'Wilson & Co. Mooltan' at the bottom, the case with scrollwork top, glazed side panels and oval pendulum viewing window, on a plinth base,28cm wide21.5cm deep53cm highCondition report: Clock has been altered at some stage. There are several features that appear to have been changed - the brackets securing the movement have been blocked up and there is an odd hole in one of the brass pieces. Some screws with burred slots, various vacant and filled holes in back plate, current pendulum functions but doesn't fit into travelling bracket. Dial needs cleaning, top of case has repairs to mouldings, front door with loose top hinge and three small filled in hinge end, hinges reset, name at bottom of dial partially obscured by wood surround. Inside woodwork of case appears crude.

A George III mahogany longcase clock, c.1770, the dial signed 'Lassel, Park', eight-day striking movement, an arched brass and silvered dial with moon phase and date, the hood with swan neck break-arch pediment, two wood ball and spike finials and verre églomisé panels, the trunk with a shaped top long door, to a panelled and staged base, on ogee bracket feet,56cm wide28cm deep228cm highCondition report: The movement hasn't run for some time and is dusty, the moonphase has been disconnected and the feather is missing from the pendulum. The two finials are later and there is no central finial. There are cracks to one of the verre eglomise panels and an old repair to the arch of the hood door.

Hale, Sydney', the case with bevelled glass to top and sides and silvered brass bevel to the front door, over an ogee moulded base on shallow bun feet,24.5cm wide17.5cm deep32.5cm highThomas Hale (1814-1883) was born in Kent and emigrated to Australia. Records show that he was employed as a watchmaker and jeweller in Sydney from 1847. The following year he advertised his own business as goldsmith and watchmaker at 168 Elizabeth St. Sydney. By 1850 he was in King St., and in 1851 at 496 George St. Condition report: Small chips, knocks, splits and losses to veneer.Small chips to glass in places. Probable repair/replacement to feet.Label within door shows that it has seen a degree of repair/restoration at some point.Wear and fading to case. See additional images.
