With a large crack in the left cabinet door. Further cracks throughout. With numerous losses to the sides. Some losses to the cabinet doors. The upper and lower cornice are loose. Would benefit from a cleaning.

Lot 174A

Boulle work bracket clock French, early 19th Century, the white enamel roman dial with Arabic five minutes, signed A R Sandaux a Paris, over an ormolu lyre and leaf scroll mount, twin train movement with outside count wheel bell strike. The break arch case with raised top, mounted with a figure of Victory, glazed sides with canted term mounted corners, scroll form base and cast ball feet. Clock including top but excluding bracket is 83cm high overall approx, just the bracket measures 32cm approx overallOverall wear, marks and scratches. Some cracks to the dial and losses, including around the winding holes. The door is not quite alligned. The face requires pins. Losses to the boulle work in places. Lifting of brass in places. Old repairs, damage and areas have been repainted throughout. The pendulum is later, there is an old key, but we do not know if it is original. It is currently working/ticking, but we cannot guarantee that it is working, if you were to purchase this lot, we would reccomend having it serviced. We have been unable to get the clock working/running. The finials are present but have been broken off. One of the front feet have been broken off and is missing. * A George III mahogany cased eight day longcase clock, signed Read, Tarporley, the moulded twin swan neck pediment with flower head terminals over gilt embellished glazed panels, extending to freestanding fluted pillars flanking the 33cm gilt metal and silvered break arch dial, with a painted moon phase over the dial applied with Roman and Arabic numerals, enclosing a subsidiary second dial and date aperture along with the makers name, the two train movement striking on a saucer bell, the trunk with a dentil frieze and blind fretwork frieze above a shaped and beaded door flanked by conforming quarter pilasters, the lower board with applied beaded detail, conforming blind fretwork canted corners, upon bracket feet, 225cm H, two weights and pendulum, running and keeping time, by repute the kitchen clock of Joseph Dutton, Burland Hall Condition report:  Top of hood some evidence of historic worm. Clock glass appears to be later.Bocks added to inside of hood, indicating evidence of restoration. Some light wear to the gilt detail, tarnishing to the chapter ring and then centre of dial. Some light fading, rubbing, wear, minor gouges and scratches to case and lower panel.

A George II figured walnut fusee bracket or table clock by Smallwood, Sandbach, circa 1750, the figured walnut case with ogee caddy top and brass swing handle over the moulded cornice and 17cm square gilt metal dial, with openwork spandrels and silvered chapter ring, applied with Roman and Arabic numerals along with the makers name, centred with matted and chased foliate detail and a crescent shaped date aperture, the four knopped pillar fusee movement striking on a pair of overhead saucer bells, above the foliate engraved back plate with a heart shaped back-cock and bob pendulum, upon ogee bracket feet, 42cm high, 45cm high with handle,  running and keeping time at the property (some historic woodworm to the top of the case) Condition report: Please note the clock strikes on a pair of bells indicating the hour, quarter past and half past Historic worm to the rear pediment, along with repairs and small chip. Replaced putty and hinges to front door, 8cm split around the door catch. Veneer repairs around both rear door hinges, rear door 'tight' when closing. Replaced putty to rear door. Similarly, the side panels with replaced putty. General marks, wear and fading commensurate with age and use.

Moulding below right hand column above plinth missing from right hand side. Otherwise only light commensurate wear.

* A large Victorian mahogany library bookcase of country house proportions, the moulded cornice over two pairs of arched glazed doors opening to an arrangement of sixteen adjustable shelves, the base formed with four banks of five drawers applied with button handles, upon a plinth base, 244cm H x 305cm W x 60cm D PLEASE NOTE: Tushingham Hall has undergone alterations prior to the bookcase being positioned, it should therefore be assumed that it will be necessary for it to undergo a degree of disassembly before it can be removed Condition report:  General minor sun bleaching/fading to the upper drawers. All drawers run smoothly. Four drawer handles with minor chips. Right hand side of bookcase unpolished with overhanging top and front board (Originally fitted to end wall)Cut away for skirting board moulding. 10cm chip to moulding on furthest left glazed door. Further minor chips, wear and fading commensurate with age and use.

Buyers should be aware that the cupboard is going to need a degree of restoration.Paint appears to be original on both pieces indicating that it has been together for some time and probably not a marriage
